Three names, same Tunnel?

  • Join me as I explore a tunnel that has 3 names! known as Benniworth, High Street or Willingham Tunnel. Standing at 579yardsit was the second tunnel I have explored on the Bardney to Louth line. In great condition it belies the fact that it hasnt seen a passenger train since 1956/7 or a Goods train since 1960. With the lines all lifted it is sometimes hard to imagine there was a railway through this countryside at all if it wasn't for these survivors!
I hope you enjoy this video and if you do please subscribe for more railway and non railway related historic videos.
The other tunnel on the line is Witithcall and you can see my exclusive invitation only video of this private tunnel here: • Withcall Tunnel & Station

Very nice video. This reminds me of a tunnel local to me that I hope to explore this summer. It's very wet and flooded in sections, so mid to late summer is probably the only chance I will get. Your tunnel seemed to have excellent drainage. Very well engineered 🙂

Thanks for watching. Tbh all the tunnels I have been in have a problem with drains somewhere. Summer is definitely the best time to explore them

A lovely extremely remote tunnel that, as you say, is a bit featureless but nevertheless has its own character. What did you say it was called?😆🤣!!!!!

Lovely old tunnel in great condition. Classic example of I knew what to say but the words kept coming out in the wrong order 😂😂

They go to the effort of removing the tracks which is a pity isn't it when they're removing the service no chance of them being revived so nice the brilliant bridge and tunnels structures do survive 😄👏

Thanks for watching. It was a good way of ensuring it couldn't be reinstated easily, very shortsighted for many lines, but this one hardly made a penny from day one! Still sad to see the old tunnels and bridges!
