      I watch all of your videos, thanks for making them!!
      I’m guessing the kdss spacer kit gives you more flex ? I know nothing about how the kdss works

      @@birchwhitehd awesome! Thank you so much!
      And yes it gives you full flex/droop and also there is a KDSS “lean” you get when you lift the 4Runner so it also gets rid of that

    Hi, thanks for your video. Why did you have the spacers fitted? I just had suspension installed to a lc200 and my 4x4 now has 40mm 😥

    Great video! Prior to this is install, how significant was the "lean" on your 4Runner? I also see some scrape marks on your spare tire and I'm guessing this is why folks install a rear tire mount bumper/hitch - I always thought that the rear tire was more protected, apparently not. Thank you for another great video.

    • @heradventurelife
      @heradventurelife  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! My lean wasn’t to bad to begin with, but it did help by adding the spacers in. And yeah haha definitely am in need of a tire carrier for some more clearance, it definitely gets in the way more than you think

      @@heradventurelife would be cool to see a video of what rear tire mount you go with.

    Hello there, great video that I’ll hopefully use for my future install! Just had a question for you as I’m new to this whole Kdss system as I just received my 4Runner a couple months ago. I want to lift my 4Runner but shops keep telling me I need to buy these very expensive race suspensions because they “work” with Kdss… I was wondering if these Kdss spacers allow me to install any lift or is there something else I need to install? I want to stay away from any system that I need to send away for re-building like “icon” or “kings” so I’m trying to find out what I need to do to make any suspension work!
    Thank you in advance :)

      Thank you! I appreciate the feedback☺️
      As for the suspension you can lift a KDSS 4runner up to 3”. If you are having shops tell you that you can’t, I would definitely recommend using another shop for install as it’s totally possible. I have got Elka suspension on my 4Runner, and really you can run any brand suspension as long as it’s not over 3”.

    If you only level the front and not change the rear, do you just need a front spacer?

  • @marknewman8609
    @marknewman8609 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Can you explain the purpose of the spacers? Did you notice a difference on the highway and trails? Thanks.

    • @heradventurelife
      @heradventurelife  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Basically it puts the sway bar back to is “normal spot” when you lift your 4Runner. It allows you to get back your full articulation along with fixing the KDSS “lean”
      I haven’t used it on the trails yet, and honestly can’t really notice a major difference on paved road as you aren’t putting any major flex on the suspension.

      Spacers are from Greenlane Offroad
      And the suspension is Elka 2.5 Resis

    I have a kings lift and 3 inches and it's kinda hard when I ride it, does this help a lot?

    • @heradventurelife
      @heradventurelife  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not to sure it’ll help with the stiffness, but it will help with the lean and able to use the sway bar to its full potential

  • @Ches13h

    • @heradventurelife
      @heradventurelife  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Any kind of lift will make the sway bar out of line. But I have a 3” lift and it helped a bunch

    Why do you need to open the KDSS valves?

    • @heradventurelife
      @heradventurelife  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It helps by making the KDSS suspension not so stiff to work with.

    • @teachthestory

      Good deal. So maybe not completely necessary. I’m going to try without opening and see how we do. Will update.

    Unfortunately that’s a horrible job by that mechanic. He should torque things instead of using the power tools. That’s the problem I have with mechanics all the time, they do things quick to move on to the next job. They live by “time is money mentality” and thus that’s why they screw things on your car etc.

    • @MrSatchelpack
      @MrSatchelpack 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Nah. Torque specs are critical for things like engine building. The rough torque on an air tool should be just fine for something like this. In a couple of shots he also went back over with a wrench and did it by feel, which I think is fine if you know what you're doing. To your point, I do understand that there a way too many shitty mechanics that either don't know what they're doing or cut corners to save time and money.
