Jim will always be a legend. A handsome man, intelligent, a performer and above everything, a poet. Never will we see again such an artist with so much charisma.
It is a curious thing, it is as if he were a character from some ancient mythology, as if if he had not existed someone would have had to invent him, an interesting guy Jim Morrison
@@deanvo503 Indeed. I think that's what Oliver Stone tried to convey in THE DOORS - Jim as a mythic figure. The fans who complain about ' innacuracies ' totally miss the point.
Love the scream sequence!!!!! "people trusted each other" Jim Coke. So ecstatic that a mural will be hung in downtown Long Beach this fall! Congrats to Jim Coke, and long live the lizard king!!!!!!!!
Thanks Jim for sharing these treasures. There was a time in the 1970’s and parts of the1980’s there wasn’t much for doors fans to reminisce about. Again thanks.
I became a Doors fan in the early 80's when I was in college. It was kind of a rebirth for them and they became very popular after being almost forgotten. A friend of mine lent me Danny Sugarman's book, No One Here Gets Out Alive, 1980. I read it in a couple of days and soon had purchased all of the Doors albums that I could find. What a great band.
If I had the ability to go back in time and have drinks with people Jim Morrison, Jerry Garcia, Hunter Thompson, and Jack Kerouac would be a great start. Man would that be fun just kicking back beers and talking to these guys.
I’m 70 and love the Doors music. I was 18 when Morrison died. They really weren’t that popular then. A few of their last shows only attracted two or three thousand kids. I remember some radio guy playing LA Woman in 1970 and cutting the song off when Morrison was just getting into his Mojo Rising screaming fit. The dude on the radio said, ‘OK, we’ve had enough of that,’ and just cut the song off, without finishing it.
I've always wanted to see this entire show but to no avail. San Jose? Die hard Doors fan up here in Seattle. Jim knew his days and so did the night! Yeeehaw
Hi alejandro, just getting around to reading these comments for the first time, nice to see some recent ones. FYI, this was the Fantasy Faire and Magic Music Festival at Devonshire Downs in Northridge, CA. It was a month after Monterey Pop and a week or so before LMF hit #1 in USA.
Excellent shots. They all look impressive. Morrison was a handsome fuker. One can plainly see why the chicks dug him. Very talented fellow. Pretty good, pretty neat. 😎👍

Both remain as huge figures in our culture

I recall hearing a L.A. radio dj do the same thing to a new Rolling Stones song around 1989/90. I wonder if it was the same guy.
Incredible!
Would be great to have an event like that in Naples, Italy. Great shots Jim. Cheers.

Ya think they would have mentioned when and where this concert happened.
So he was wearing leather pants as early as summer of '67? I thought those came later...what he's got on then must be pre-Lizard King leather pants
He only had the pants, not the full suit.
Any photos of the audience? Wondering if Pamela was up front?
Why is Jim life size she ask,s? Because Jim was larger than life itself.. I wish I could have seen The Doors
Did see them! 3 times. Met ray and john.
Jim can you bring Your talent/Genius to the Hamptons summer’22
