Hey, welcome back to my channel! Have you ever found yourself wondering, "How do I discern God's will for my life?" It's a question many of us ponder, and in today's video, we're diving into exactly that.
Understanding God's will means aligning ourselves with His purpose, plan, and desires. As Romans 12:2 emphasizes, this alignment occurs through renewing our minds with God's truth, which we find in His Word. By living according to His Word, we reflect His character and fulfill our purpose to shine His light in the world. Yet, why doesn't God simply tell us what to do? It's not about mere instruction; it's about trust and relationship-building. God desires a deep connection with us, one founded on faith and reliance on His wisdom. Thus, rather than providing straightforward answers, He encourages us to seek Him first in all things, cultivating a relationship built on trust and obedience!
I break this video into 3 parts: 1. What is the will of God, what does that mean? 2. Why won't He tell me what to do? 3. 4 statements to ask yourself when seeking the will of God for your life.

Also, I should have said this but when you surrender to God’s plan you should feel a sense of relief knowing he is in control. He is in the driver seat!

Alexis -- this is fire. Years ago someone told me how to figure out God's will for my life and it stuck with me. They said, do what you know to be right, your right next step, right now. Don't worry about tomorrow or the rest of your life. Just follow what you know to be God's will today. And then tomorrow when you wake up, do the same. And the next day, and next week. And by doing the next right thing each day, you will be in God's will. And I think the core of the Bible is about loving others well. So if I love others well every minute, hour, day, week -- I will be in God's will.

I'm a fresh grad from college! and I have no clue what future job to pursue (I'm not that interested in my degree, but it's also smth I can still stick with).
But I really liked what you said about opening the Bible to be with God and be transformed by Him rather than seeing it as a checklist to get rid of.
I was wondering why these past few months I have been feeling distant from God. I never realized 'til you said it that I might have made BIble-reading a chore and a routine rather than an intimate time with God. Thanks for that reminder!

Thank you, Alexis! Saying that maybe we don't hear God cause He might call us to be more faithful brought me some comfort. Last year I really wanted to know God's will about my marriage. I'm 40 and never been married. I fasted for 21 days and read the entire Bible while praying to hear God. Then a few months later, through my Bible app I kept getting the same verse: 'so we fasted and implored our God for this, and He listened to our prayer' - Ezra 8:23. I took it as confirmation that His will is for me is to marry, cause of 1 John 5:14 ('when we pray according to His will, He hears us, and if we know He hears us, then we know we have what we asked for'). The waiting though is making me so anxious and it's hard to keep the faith. So, thank you for the encouraging words. Bless you! ❤
You don’t need to be married. Marriage is not what you think it is. You better off being alone. I’m 42 and have no desire to do such thing. I’m happy and feel closer to God.
My aunt married at the age of 47! She hadn’t even ever had a boyfriend before that and we all tought she’d stay alone forever bc she’s so introverted and shy. My mother and other aunts prayed for her often, admitting that sometimes they themselves didn’t believe that it would ever happen, but then reminding themselves how for god everything is possible. And Then one day she met her now husband at 43-44 or sth, she completely changed and began to be very open and extroverted and they’re happily married now and he already became a big part of our family! Hope this little story helps you to keep up your faith! If it was possible for her, it is for sure possible for you. Bc For god everything is possible!

When I first layed it all down and surrendered to God and asked Him what His will was for my life, He showed up in a dream and showed me specifically. But it was after weeks of seeking Him wholeheartedly and shutting out everything else and getting alone with Him. Just like the parable of the woman who swept the whole house clean until she found her lost ring, so we must also seek His face. If you seek (and keep on seeking) you will find. I know this to be true. Stay in that Word. 🙏
What did he show you in your dream?
@@NothingDoing24 In that first dream I was sharing the Word with others, healing and casting out demons. Ministry basically. Since then, Ive had others that have come to pass as well. I can say that dream has come to pass to an extent but I don't feel to it's fullest yet. There's so many stories in scripture where certain callings took years to come to pass fully. But I had to know more than anything, His will and His voice. I think often times we tell Him our will and ask Him to bless it, instead of surrendering our will to His. He is faithful. Keep asking, keep seeking, keep knocking. 🙏

The will of God for any christian is to obey the Word of God in whatever condition or situation he or she is. The rest will be done by God.
The life of Joseph is an example.
God showed Joseph two symbolic dreams about his future but Joseph did not know the exact meaning of them.
The situations ocurred of the life of Joseph took Joseph where he had to be in the perfect time. Joseph just obeyed God and His Word wherever he was.
God has ONE will in all our lives salvation - follow that path, He will sort out the rest.

When i moved away from my family I felt alone and wasn’t GOD has been here the whole time. I found a church i felt so welcomed and i am on a journey reading and studying chapters or verses of the Bible.

I would add in my Christian walk in finding God's purpose, I focus on the 3 Ps - Your Passion, is your Potential is your Purpose. The bible validates this to me in Jeremiah 29:11 and Psalm 32:8. When I have given my life to God, he told me to fast for 40 days. Pretty extreme for a new believer. I was told I am a new believer and I was not ready for this. So I ignored it. As I was sitting in LES SCHWAB waiting for my car to be serviced, I was reading a bible ..ie LUKE... I looked away for a second or two and when I looked back, it was on MARK. Hmmm.. I turned it back to LUKE and resumed reading. I looked away for a second or two..and then when I looked down, it was on MARK again. This happened about 4 times. So I started to read MARK. I noticed it was talking about praying and fasting. This supernatural experience made me fast for 40 days. After the fast, I got baptized. Then about 6 months or so after this, I learned how to pray. I was praying one way and did not receive anything but as I continued to seek God's guidance to lead my life, I learned how to pray where it is now 2 way. When I pray now, God answers my prayers. He answers me quick. Sometimes in seconds or minutes.

@@alexisleetrevino Make sure you hear from the holy spirit. You need him to lead you if you want to live. Holy spirit gives life to those who listen and obey him. Jesus is the holy spirit. We must listen to Jesus.

I always want to know the answers and it would be nice if I could hear clearly like some people do. I'm still going in my faith even though I have been saved for years I still feel like I'm new in my faith if that makes any sense.

Can you explain how you have a relationship with God if you cant hear him audibly? How does that work for you? If i ask my physical father any question he will do his best to answer me. This seems so very odd

What does it mean to have faith in Jesus Christ? Remember salvation is by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ.
