    I dig it. Easy to forget how radical the XR10 Tarago looked when it dropped in 1990 tho

    😂 Love the Trek references. Comprehensive review, Jez, thanks! I had one for a few days last week, too. Really enjoyed it, although it was 'only' the 3.5 petrol FWD base model. I'd better finish off my review!

    It's a shame that the seats can't be removed (as in the Multivan). That would be a compelling proposition for me if they could be.

    Great video and what looks like a great car! I saw you guys shooting this video in front of my building on my way to the beach ;) I saw a Carnival parked next to the Staria though and was actually hoping for a side-by-side comparison. Is that video coming?

      Thanks, Dakoolk. We can neither confirm nor deny that a Staria v Carnival comparison video is coming. ;-)

      @@jezspinks426 thanks yeah, I watched that as soon as it went online! Great video and gee... Probably the most dissimilar automotive siblings that I've seen. I kind of wish I needed a car that big (for a couple with a small dog 🤣), but then my choice would probably be Carnival due to better styling and better solution to his the third row, even though it's less spacious.

      @@jezspinks426 I see you're shooting another cool comparison under my balcony today! Can't wait to watch it as one of them is the coolest fresh metal coming to the market this year!

    Just spent 15 days in Tasmania in a rental Staria. Lots of windy mountain roads, highway driving and some city driving. We had 4 adults and 4 suitcases plus assorted bags. Plenty of room in the middle seats and boot. Front seats are reasonably comfortable. The front right pillar is a real problem on windy roads, especially on tight right hand bends. Quite OK at highway speeds, but passing at speed is only average. I own a Peugeot 3008GT HDi (2.0L diesel) and it has much better passing capacity. The Staria is fit for purpose and it does handle quite well. A bit dicey on wet roads but maybe quality tyres might help there (eg Michelins). The car is easy to manoeuvre but has difficulty in tight parking spaces simply because of its length. The sliding doors are a real problem on hills, especially for kids and women. Needs normal opening doors.
    Staria seemed to me to be fit for purpose and except for a couple of issues I found it a pretty reasonable experience. It's a big car with plenty of room.

    Why can't you remove the second and third row seats? Or was that said because if you want too you need tools??

    What a machine. "Where's the high-rider Delica Space Gear off-roader rival?" is my only question. Apart from the Star Trek shirt, but we'll leave that for another day.

    Would luv to know how easy it is to remove all the rear seats and use it as a van, then it has real potential and how many litres of space that makes.

    • @jezspinks426
      @jezspinks426 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately, Alan, you'll need the Staria-Load if you want van-like cargo space. Unlike VW Multivan, rear seats can't be removed in Staria.

    Would the Staria tempt you more than a Kia Carnival or VW Multivan? Comment below. Remember to like and subscribe too!

      I love the space and design, but would be better if the rear seats can be removed and the second row seat can be rotated back as advertised in Korea, thanks!

    The 1990s egg-shaped Tarago has front centre armrests, and second and third row seats that can be removed. Ergo, it's better.
