Wells Next The Sea - Pinewoods - Spoonbill Drift Touring Site

- Wells Next The Sea is situated on the North Norfolk Coast, and is a place we have wanted to visit for a number of years now but have never got round to it. The touring side of Pinewoods Caravan Park is Spoonbill Drift Touring Park and is very well laid out and the facilities are immaculate.
Wells is a seaside town and has a beautiful harbour and the best beach in ever. There used to be a little train that runs from Pinewoods to the town but it appears that it has now gone, all the track has been taken up and there is no sign of it.
The tide comes in very fast at Wells and a siren will sound to warn people that the tide is starting to come in an effort to prevent people getting stranded.
There are lots of boats in the harbour and you can sit on the wall eating your fish and chips which is really quite nice
Wells is a lovely place and hopefully we will return here at some point in the future.

I was born and bred in Norfolk and spent many weekends and weeks at pinewoods campsite as a child. I remember walking through the pinewoods to the beach through the soft sand that was there. Swimming in the large pool that was left when the tide went out during hot summer days and walking the mile to the town to eat fish and chips on the wall opposite the chip shop. My childhood was very happy and I have not been to Wells for the best part of 25 years. Thank you for the nostalgia trip.
Glad you have enjoyed your trip down memory lane it is a beautiful place and we will certainly be back at some point. I have a little of Norfolk in me too my grandfather was from Norfolk so have visiting the area all my life and will continue to do so, it really feels like home when I’m there. @@Julieandysaceventures I moved away from Norfolk many years ago but still have family there, Where the beach huts are was the woods my elder sister and me played in in the 1960's and the car park was in the same place the shops are different though by the side of the car park. You have made me feel a little homesick, or should I say Wells sick, but never mind at 63 it is nice to be taken back to my childhood days.

This is a beautiful part of England we absolutely love it here. This was our first visit to Wells and were so surprised how many beach huts there were 😀
What a fantastic site, love the grass roof on the site buildings. The beach huts are fantastic, never seen so many and we have lots here. Shame about the weather but as you proved its not a show stopper. Thanks for sharing.

It was our first time there unfortunately the weather was not kind to us and we only had too nights. At some point we will definitely return to explore more
