    Thanks for the video, really helpful! I notice when I import my animation models from blender to UE5, the textures don't import alongside it. Do you know if there's any way to fix that?

    exactly what I needed! thnk u
    but, how would you add a new animation to that exact skeleton that you imported?
    would you just have to import the animation without the mesh?

    • @RoundTableAnimation
      @RoundTableAnimation  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's exactly it! And from the drop down menu when you import, select the mesh/skeleton you want to import that animation onto

      I personally haven't seen anything like that. Usually model swapping or extracting is the extent I've seen it go through

    How's the transition from Maya to Blender going? What can you say about Blender's animation capabilities compared to Maya? Can it fully replace the latter? I'm so on the fence on whether I should invest in Blender or any of the industry standard programs cuz I fear Blender might be lacking in comparison to them :(

    • @RoundTableAnimation
      @RoundTableAnimation  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      My transition from Maya to Blender is going well, I am actually starting to prefer it in some instances. As far as the animation capabilities, there are 1 or 2 thing in my workflow in Maya that I can't do in Blender but Blender also has a few capabilities that Maya doesn't do so well. So it's really up to the animator.
      Keep in mind that I do my work in freelance so I felt I had to learn Blender once I received too many offers that had clients had their assets in Blender.

    you know why that when I export my character from blender, my character is missing material tags?

  • @ryanpetten8066

    Now how do you get the model to have colour as well when exporting?

    • @nijq
      @nijq ปีที่แล้ว +2

      u have to import ur textures and rebuild the material inside unreal then apply it to ur mesh

  • @1murkeybadmayn
    @1murkeybadmayn ปีที่แล้ว

    I don't have the same options for the import. There is no skeleton and mesh box and animation box to tick. I cannot click the import button either as it's just dead.

    • @py8697
      @py8697 ปีที่แล้ว

      you'll have the same options if you right click in the destination folder in ue5 and select "add / import content" and "import to 'your location'"

    I really wish you had slowed this down. I know nothing about the sequencer. Like, how do you render a sequence of just an animation without the camera being in the sequence?

    • @RoundTableAnimation
      @RoundTableAnimation  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My apologies. The purpose of the video was to show how to export a Blender animation to Unreal, I didn't have the intention to showcase the sequencer.
      To answer your question, no you cannot render an animation in the sequencer without a camera.

    Could you make a tutorial for importing only animation?
    I can't get this to work in ue5.
    Only way i can get new animations in
    Ue5. Is to delete skeletal mesh and everything. It's a real pain

    • @Fjaru
      @Fjaru 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hey try this: Follow the steps in the video, when you get to the FBX import options window in UE5, uncheck "import mesh", then at the "Skeleton" option, select the skeleton which already exists in your project that you want to use the animation for. Then select "Import". When I do this only the animation sequence is imported.
