"The Fast and the Furious" (2001) is the same movie/plot as "Point Break" (1991). Point Break is about an athletic pretty boy FBI agent (Keanu Reeves) working with his handler (Gary Busey) to investigate and infiltrate an unknown gang of bank robbers. The gang is led by Patrick Swayze, and they have a hobby of surfing and even own/operate a surf shop. The agent falls for the gang leader's girlfriend. At the end, he blows his cover when things escalate out of control and the leader flees. In the last scene, the agent catches up to the gang leader, but due to their friendship, the agent lets him tap into his passion (surfing) one last time and lets him venture off into the unknown. The Fast and the Furious is about an athletic pretty boy police officer (Paul Walker) working with his handler (Ted Levine) to investigate and infiltrate an unknown gang of truck robbers. The gang is led by Vin Diesel, and they have a hobby of street racing and even own/operate a car shop. The agent falls for the gang leader's sister. At the end, he blows his cover when things escalate out of control and the leader flees. In the last scene, the agent catches up to the gang leader, but due to their friendship, the agent lets him tap into his passion (street racing) one last time and lets him venture off into the unknown. The first movie still holds up 20+ years later because it was literally a re-skin of a solid, standalone film from the early 1990s. As soon as they started making sequels where they needed to come up with their own "original" plots instead of recycling established movies, things went off the rails. It's obvious and expected.
Imo after the first film the series should've branched into 2 separate ways, just like 2 fast 2 furious was Brian's solo film dom should've had a solo film without Brian, here's how I'd structure it: 1. Fast 1 ( Dom & Brian ) 2. Fast 2 ( Brian Solo ) 3. Fast 3 ( Dom Solo Film would be Tokyo drift ) 4. Fast 4 ( Brian Solo ) 5. Fast 5 ( Dom Solo ) 6. Fast 6 ( Dom & Brian ) Basically they should've done more smaller scale films with Brian and his team in the US while Dom has his films be international and they come together for special cross over movies
Great video man and it’s great to hear somebody calling out the newer movies on their stupidity. I only own the 1st & 2nd movies on disc and that’s all I can tolerate because the first two are grounded in reality with consequences and drama.

Ngl i agree to this. For me F&F4 is so underrated and i forget about yet i remember liking some of the clips that ive seen. F&F2 imo made brian alot better character wise and i agree it's underrated asf as it gives me a classic 80s crime show if yk yk. F&F7 strangely the moment shaw got killed i said to myself "well this is getting weird" and pretty much the same opinions as you. Only confusing thing is i swear theres a second tokyo drift movie that took place before the 6th movie aka hans literal death
They need to do one where he finds out that he has a son from back around the first movie. He's getting to know his son and a street gang is involved. After he begins to connect with his son, he catches a bullet in a surprise drive by, trying to save his son. The ending of the movie would be the son leading a police raid to arrest the gang members. Before cutting to a barbecue. It would be reflective of Brian and be like a passing of the torch kind of thing. That could lead towards a good movie and close out the series on the right note.
You were cookin’ with those comments about Riddick! The only franchise that could simultaneously will into existence excellent movies AND video games! I felt the Fast franchise separated into two different universes the moment Fast 5 ended. Maybe in fan theory this Dom living inside his head in prison had Fast 5 not been included.

you know I’m 38 years old and there’s been quite a few celebrities that have passed away in my years. But I don’t think there has ever been a death of a celebrity that is hit me quite like the one of Paul Walker. I remember I was playing Xbox live with a bunch of friends and one of my buddies was like did you hear Paul Walker died? I was like no way you’re lying. But sure enough it was true. it felt like someone close to me died. I always thought that the fast and furious movies were best with Paul Walker. I stopped watching them after he passed away.
After fast 7 they should have ended it there! It was a perfect ending and they honored Paul Walker in the best way possible! RIP 🪦 Paul Walker and Fast and Furious Franchise 2001-2017
Loved the video. I’ve never seen any of the F&F movies, but I’m familiar with the decline in quality over the last few releases. Nice to get an entertaining summary about that. I loved the XXX and Riddick characters, and am still bummed that Vin never pulled the trigger on those franchises sooner. You’re right. Now it’s too late. Growing old can be challenging because we have to face our inevitable decline. Vin and Duane have maxed out their genetic potential so hard that all they have left is decline. You and me, we can still get in the best shape of our lives, but they maxed and hit the ceiling. That’s got to be rough.
If you ever wanna see Paul Walker do some actual acting, check out "The Lazarus Project" from 2008 in which he portrays the main the character. It's really not bad and Walker truly demonstrates his chops with some far more dramatic material.
Oh yeah and Universal Studios Hollywood chose now of all times to make a new Fast and Furious roller coaster. I saw the construction a while ago and didn't know what it was, then I went to HHN and saw it was Fast and Furious and I was like: "Bruh that franchise be stale AF"
@@ssjgotenks2009 Fans may still like it but this feels like the wrong time to be making a fast and furious ride when the franchise has, like Zeffy said, gone to shit. Also just because fans still like it doesn't mean it's not stale. The Star Wars franchise has gone stale with what Disney has done to it yet the fans still like Star Wars just not the crap that Disney has been producing.
There's a moment in every franchise that goes too long (some TV shows too) where you have to ask, "How did we go from this to this?", and it doesn't make sense. Totally grounded in reality street racing to Avengers is the perfect way to describe the path of F&F.
Wait maybe I’m just tripping but I always thought 4-6 was set before Han’s death cause they showed the same scene after credits where statham kills him but then was later revealed that Mr.nobody helped him fake his death. Most people prefer action movies instead of movies about cars. That's why racing movies are rare.
True. A minority of people are interested in cars but a majority of people are interested in action
I disagree. The street racing was always set dressing rather than the focus. The originals were crime/cop films, not racing flicks.
finally somebody said it
Yeah...
The series is now in it's "Straight to Video" phase of it's existence.
The glory days are long gone.
❤❤❤❤❤
You forgot to talk about Dwayne' s problematic need to take over the franchise and make it about himself.
You brought up Letty needing to stay dead. She survived the actual film. There's a post credit scene showing her survive. So she was never dead, nobody watched the post credit scene is all
Yea I actually like Letty, she becomes less of a character overtime but I still enjoy her presence
Dude, Letty was dead at the end of 4. It wasn't until the Post-Credit scene in 5 and then the entire film of 6 that they retconned it
It was good through Fast Five. Tokyo Drift was great.
❤❤❤❤❤
The last good movie was 6. They rushed into production on 7 causing Justin lin to stand down.
Unfortunately Paul walker past away which pushed the release date back (which meant Justin lin stepping down was pointless) we had a horror director trying to direct action which was atrocious. Everybody has a gaslit pov on 7 “yeah that film is really good” no the film is crap. The last 5 minutes are really good for Paul walker. 8 was bad too. By the time 9 rolled around you could tell vin diesel had wayyyyyy too much input on the story. It’s a disaster
They should of finished at 6 but do spin offs after that tbh, so yeah
7 was a good film. Act 3 was too long. The film as a whole wasn’t the best but was a good popcorn flick and end of the franchise
@@bradwhite5884 oh sure then you wont that puar walker sond off how dare you ins alt that sond off dude
@@ssjgotenks2009 What the hell are you talking about? You nearly gave me an aneurism reading that, Fast 7 was a good send off for Paul, but some parts in Fast 7 I felt is a bit off tbh, if Paul didn't die the movie could of been good or bad tbh, I don't mind continue the franchise but movies after Fast 7 felt like they are going way too far from what it's meant to be and the whole Mission Impossible like movies in the franchise should of been a spin off series tbh, but that's my case tbh
My list of the best =
1. Fast & Furious
2. FF Tokyo Drift
3. 2 Fast 2 Furious
Is number part 1 or part 4
Paul Walker dying really hurt the franchise more than ppl realize.. they had to change the whole direction of where it was going. Not to say they weren’t doing crazy stuff b4 Furious 7 but still.
the only thing fast 9 was the flashback race between Dom and Jakob.
but it pisses me off cause it shows they CAN go back to street racing, but they choose not to
Duuuuuuude the armored truck in fast 9 gave me so much cringe when Dom used a simple grenade to flip the truck
These movies are straight up 🗑️ the fact that ppl keep eating that bs up just shows how much brain activity this generation has left🤦🏿♂️ the first 3 we’re the only good ones…
❤❤❤❤❤

Bashing people over a movie is ridiculous

No. How about instead "Why was he dating a 16-year old as a 33-year old?"
I said it a few years ago FNF went from a movie about cars and the car community to legit G.I Joe with cars, great video man :)

My guy you find out Brian is an undercover cop within the first 15 minutes of the movie. Go re watch it
I think he was being hyperbolic
The Fast and furious movies are basically demigods/spy who happen to drive cars from time to time
Imo after the first film the series should've branched into 2 separate ways, just like 2 fast 2 furious was Brian's solo film dom should've had a solo film without Brian, here's how I'd structure it:
1. Fast 1 ( Dom & Brian )
2. Fast 2 ( Brian Solo )
3. Fast 3 ( Dom Solo Film would be Tokyo drift )
4. Fast 4 ( Brian Solo )
5. Fast 5 ( Dom Solo )
6. Fast 6 ( Dom & Brian )
Basically they should've done more smaller scale films with Brian and his team in the US while Dom has his films be international and they come together for special cross over movies
It wasn’t the same after Paul Walker passed away.
Good video bro
@@Aswadfilm thanks man
Great video man and it’s great to hear somebody calling out the newer movies on their stupidity. I only own the 1st & 2nd movies on disc and that’s all I can tolerate because the first two are grounded in reality with consequences and drama.
at 6:50 the orange car is actually the Mazda RX7 FD. it looks different than the stock version, because this one in the moive has a bodykit called "veilside". and yes, the mazda RX7 is a legendary car among tuner cars.
23:01 Why you add 10 years on top of Vin's actual age? He's 57 - pushing to 60 at least.
Just wanna say running scared is an amazing paul walker movie. Has to be said
Ya that movie is really gritty
Ok but why do I love the way you do your vids? Feel like I'm listening to a friend rambling about something they like and I am all in for it
6:50 Mazda RX7 with a veilside kit
Ngl i agree to this. For me F&F4 is so underrated and i forget about yet i remember liking some of the clips that ive seen. F&F2 imo made brian alot better character wise and i agree it's underrated asf as it gives me a classic 80s crime show if yk yk. F&F7 strangely the moment shaw got killed i said to myself "well this is getting weird" and pretty much the same opinions as you. Only confusing thing is i swear theres a second tokyo drift movie that took place before the 6th movie aka hans literal death
Tokyo Drift
1997Mazda Rx7 🔥❤️🔥
69 Mustang fastback🔥
06 Lancer Evo ❤️
0:31 throwing some well deserved shade 😂
They need to do one where he finds out that he has a son from back around the first movie. He's getting to know his son and a street gang is involved. After he begins to connect with his son, he catches a bullet in a surprise drive by, trying to save his son. The ending of the movie would be the son leading a police raid to arrest the gang members. Before cutting to a barbecue. It would be reflective of Brian and be like a passing of the torch kind of thing. That could lead towards a good movie and close out the series on the right note.
The actor who plays Hector isn't a fan of Fast and Furious anymore because of everything went from street racing to becoming this.
I'm so happy I found this channel. Every video has been great.
You were cookin’ with those comments about Riddick! The only franchise that could simultaneously will into existence excellent movies AND video games! It’s a shame that VIN Diesel won’t fight to bring it back because we know for a fact that he could because he LITERALLY HAD A MOVIE ABOUT HIS D&D OC GET MADE and actively chooses to keep making F&F movies 😤
Side Note: the female lead in Tokyo Drift was so damn gorgeous and it’s a shame she didn’t get very far in show biz
facts
My personal favorite character with the rock is by far his character in "The Rundown", the chemistry he had with Sean William Scott is amazing. The way they hate each other at first and best friends at the end is pure gold.
Fast&furious is bad but hear me out here, we’ve had worse
2 fast 2 furious , fast and furious, and fast and the furious tokyo drift these are the goats of all time !!!!!💯💯💯💥💥☠️☠️
Grounded and realistic is what made these movies so good. Shit went sideways after tokyo drift and they just kept doubling down with every movie lol.
You breaking it down like this makes me love them more
Bro explaining his point with powerpoint😂😂😂
100%✅✅✅✅👏👏
I just want to say bro you are phenomenal. You don't even have that many subscribers yet you have so many likes to this video. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Keep doing what you doing
I stand by what I said about this franchise!
THEY SHOULD'VE ENDED THIS SERIES AT FURIOUS 7
That's not what paur wanted dude
I actually agree with all your points. Always remember with 7, the movie was about Dom and his team being hunted and desperately trying to find the guy who is hunting them but keep getting distracted by the guy who they’re looking for constantly showing up and not allowing them to find him.
I love this video! 😂. Vin Diesel is milking the living hell out of this series. It crossed the line of believability years ago.
no eh is not fool look it up he paur tlaked it over yeas ago on how many they wanted he doing this for puar and he wants to end with fast 11 but hollywood dont they want push it to 12 and vin wants steeet raceing back
Tokyo Drift's final race is a peaceful solution suggested by Sean for DK. Loser leaves town race. The money remains with the Yakuza.
Fast and furious wasnt just about street racing their were always heist like in 1 stealing from that semi that injures vince then in 2 taking down verone 3 is a racing one the only racing one 4 was about revenge 5 was a heist 6 was revenge and taking down shaw 7 was revenge and emotional due to Paul walker 8 was betrayal 9 was family against family and now 10 is revenge literally 1 movie is about street racing
Exactly.
Probably because society thinks car culture is only expensive exotics, and/or automatic only. They have no idea.
Lol f*ckin Vin Diesel catching cars like WHAAAAAAAT??? 😂😂
torll way do we wathc mvoies cos we knwo dman will there not real that hole point of them
Back then when fast and furious where all about cars miss those days 😭😭😭
13:01 reminds me of that scene in tropic thunder where the director says actors are a bunch of children and its so true in some cases imagine forcing a contract where you cant loose a fight... like cinema would be so boring, we would never have a rocky or a terminator or any of those old classics that were epic because we knew the characters could loose or even die... but in these movies theres no chance even in marvel, they just multiverse it or time travel
I felt the Fast franchise separated into two different universes the moment Fast 5 ended. Maybe in fan theory this Dom living inside his head in prison had Fast 5 not been included.
I would have to disagree with you on Letty needing to stay dead. I was so happy that they brought her back and she was and always will be one of my favourite characters in the franchise, period.
you know I’m 38 years old and there’s been quite a few celebrities that have passed away in my years.
I don't say this much . But I agree with every word that was said in this video haha
This man spoke nothing but straight FACTS 💯
@@BlackstarSI lol totally agree . Best breakdown I seen in a long time lol
After fast 7 they should have ended it there! It was a perfect ending and they honored Paul Walker in the best way possible! RIP 🪦 Paul Walker and Fast and Furious Franchise 2001-2017
They should've ended at 7
Loved the video.

It would be great if zaffy did a few full length commentaries over movies here and there. Would be entertaining as shit.
I saw the construction a while ago and didn't know what it was, then I went to HHN and saw it was Fast and Furious and I was like: "Bruh that franchise be stale AF"
its not stale fans steel like it
@@ssjgotenks2009 Fans may still like it but this feels like the wrong time to be making a fast and furious ride when the franchise has, like Zeffy said, gone to shit.
Tom Cruise wants to be the main star, BUT he ain't lifting cars with bare hands, or flying to space with modified cars
Wait maybe I’m just tripping but I always thought 4-6 was set before Han’s death cause they showed the same scene after credits where statham kills him but then was later revealed that Mr.nobody helped him fake his death.
Chronological order in my mind would be:
Fast & Furious
2 fast 2 furious
4,5,6
Tokyo drift
Then the rest.
Jason Statham would violate vin deisal in a real fight😂😂😂😂
Bro you funny and relatable AF
Just don’t ever call an RX-7 a Honda ever again bruuu please 💀

SHUT UP
What are you saying
@MontyGamezz That he was a pedo.
The first movie was the only one I watched. I watched it several times. Loved the lines, the grounded story and great characters. It had scenes of people buying NOS and car parts. People eating tuna sandwiches, fixing cars and praying before a meal.
Now it has tanks and giant bomb-balls rolling towards the Vatican and some Mission Impossible shit.
Fast and Furious movies were never about street racing or cars.
Those things were just there.
exactly
Not true at all the original idea was to capture the street racing scene at the time.
