    Hey, Jose. We really love the walk-a-bouts. One of our sons is adopted from Mexico. He has been such a treasure all these 25 years we have been blessed with him. He has Mexican-american friends who tell him how backward Mexico is and not to consider going there as it is so risky. We have used your videos many times to open his eyes to the fact that all of Mexico is not the same. Just as the USA is not the same everywhere you go, Mexico is not either. We want him to learn about his wonderful heritage and to experience it for himself. We think your videos are beginning to have the desired effect. Thanks so much for all your efforts!

      As a Mexican I highly urge you to learn Spanish if you haven't, not in a "learn our language way" but there will be lots and lots of Mexicans that would love to have a foreign friend and show the culture around to make it easier for them but it will be hard with the language barrier. Greetings and I wish you the best here in taco land ✌️

    In Northern Baja there is absolutely explosive growth!! Can't go anywhere in metro Tijuana without seeing massive construction of all kinds, help wanted signs!!multiple new road projects, a new border crossing project, massive, 3 new freeways!! Housing projects everywhere. Including multiple ultra highrise apartment projects in downtown area. Tijuana government says that they will run out of usable commercial space by 2035 at current rate!! Thousands of new houses down the coast all the way to Ensenada!! Tijuana has thousands of new places built to Rosarito 40k open, and the boom starts again in greater Ensenada!! Ensenada hundreds and hundreds of additional residential construction projects and massive road improvements..
    Friends in Monterrey!! Omg! Growing in every way!! Including new subway projects!! Mass transit already pretty good but additional lines will always help!!

    The most notable change in the last six years is without a doubt the traffic. The traffic is changing the day to day livability here in a big way, for the worse to be clear. The new buses have the potential to be an improvement for sure, in terms of noise pollution if nothing else. The problem is the new buses currently have worsened traffic and livability. As long as the old bus system is still in place the new buses do nothing but add to the congestion. The idea is to ultimately replace the old system, but in Mexico good luck with that. One would have to be blind not to see how Merida "improvements" usually are sad mistakes.

    Everywhere in Mexico is growing. There is an estimated 3 billion USD in foreign investment planned for Mexico in the next 5 years. Mexico's exports to other countries are planned to grow.

    • @DrAJ_LatinAmerica
      @DrAJ_LatinAmerica 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @Peter-o5k yes, you are correct. great list. You're also missing CHINA. They plan to go big in Mexico. They want to own the Ports, railroads and more.

    • @DrAJ_LatinAmerica
      @DrAJ_LatinAmerica 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @Peter-o5k well, foreign investors already own infrastructure here. Lots of military equipment here only on "rent". Mexico has already sold almost ALL the gold, silver, and copper mines. Very common, happens all around the world. It's interesting your list doesn't have the billions USD investment into the automotive manufacturing plants, the US electric charging stations, as well as the Medical and Aviation industries. Plus the US CIA investment here is enormous. That's what has kept Cuba, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, and others from invading for all these years. Either way, Mexico is growing and winning. The rich are getting richer and the middle class is growing. Soon, we will be forced to increase wages for the cash workers as well as lower end jobs to keep them from leaving the country. The country is trying to promote more babies and more population. Population growth will also grow the economy even with no outside investment. We see this in places like China and India. Fun times. Now we'll have to see if the country steps up against cartels as they are doing in El Salvador.

    • @DrAJ_LatinAmerica
      @DrAJ_LatinAmerica 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @Peter-o5k I love that thinking. My bosses and owner will be happy to hear that as well.

    As for the traffic, I think the growth & popularity of Merida caught the government by surprise. The building & expansion has been a major BOOM & is continuing. In 10 years, there will be minimal open space between Merida & Progreso. One big city. 👍🏾

    I prefer the old charm of Mexico much more 😕. Mexico was my first love and still my favorite country on Earth! I don’t want Mexico to modernize, or at least minimally! Either way Mexico will be awesome, I just hope the modernization goes as slow as possible!

    • @JoseArteagaTravels
      @JoseArteagaTravels  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I totally agree! But I have to say I have visited other Mexican Cities who are much more modern than US cities and they still have kept the old Mexican Charm. I think they are doing a great job in most parts of Mexico and some have already been through the growing pains while others like Merida are now starting to really go through them. In the end I just hope it just modernizes enough to make things better and not over modernize to the point it is unlivable. There is a balance and each city is different. I'm hoping for the best out of Merida. Only time will tell. Thanks for sharing!

    Hey . I messaged you , you didn't get back to me . . Just got here from Isla Mujeres , I found a guy to facilitate buying my car ( I asked you ) no response ) I paid . But you haven't responded in 10 days . You say you have people that facilitate moves here from buying a car to finding a home , but i haven't hear from you even after messages . I'm here figuring things out. Would have appreciated your help .

      I think you have the wrong person. I never got an email from you requesting those things which I do not do. I Do Not facilitate moves nor help people with buying cars or finding homes. What I provide are 1 on 1 video call consultations. I also have a list on my website of people who can help you with various things. But I personally do not help anyone with anything. All I do is make TH-cam videos and Personalized Consultations.

    Mexico has lost it's desirable attraction to US seniors and/or expats ! Not a wise destination any longer - as inflation will continue and eventually will cost the same as the US in many areas ? --- Already it has lost much of it's former cost advantages. Middle US has areas almost as cheap as in Merida - 'now' ! - - - S E Asia is where the real savings are !!! And English is more easily used in many countries over there. -?-

      That is true there are many wonderful options in the USA and other parts of the world. If you are ONLY looking into moving to Mexico to save a few bucks and nothing else, then perhaps Mexico is not for you. Thanks for sharing

    Why not say where you are. Sure, Mérida has changed, but why not describe the changes instead of repeating over and over it's changed it's changed maybe 10 times, but empty of content. I bailed because I'd like to know some facts.

      I agree with you. I used to make videos like this all the time and was better at being able to both walk and talk and keep my thoughts coherent, but this was the first one I have made in over a year. Most of my content is actually shot ahead of time and then I record in my studio and then edit all together to make a for a better viewing and listening experience. This style is more Raw and maybe not for everyone. My suggestion is for you to check out some of my other videos on the channel for a better listening experience. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts, trust me when I was editing this video I was thinking the same thing. Main reason I uploaded it was because I know so many people actually like this style of video. I just gotta do more of them and shake off some of the rust. Thanks again for your honest words!
