- Before Lachlan Morton took on the Giro, he had other business to attend to. Truly mind-blowing business.
Lachy finished the 700 kilometer Badlands race in just over 43 hours. His longest break? 19 minutes. He mounted over 15,000 meters in climbs and crossed some of the most remote and challenging places in Europe. Watch how he handled the 85% off-pavement route through the mountains in southern Spain in our latest (and certifiably craziest) edition of Rapha’s Gone Racing here.

Imagine winning a race by such a margin that you have to wake up the organizers. Love this series, it's such an inspiration to get out there on the bike. I was on a long hiatus from riding seriously, but these videos got me back into it - thanks so much to everyone involved!!

It was an amazing race that you did. I kept on pulling my phone just to check every 30 min or so. even during the night i woke up several times to check. This is an inspiration for all the riders over the world, and im training to "try" to do something like this. Lachlan Morton is just another level of cyclist and he is bending all of the limits of pleasure in a bike. Hope some day i get to meet him and have a nice chat. I just gave up on triathlon and want to start long distance races with my EF gear feeling like Lachlan.

The alternative calendar is all I care about in cycling anymore.
Love these alternative rides lachlan has done. They have changed my outlook on cycling and made me less interested in racing and more towards adventure rides and longer distances.

Even if Lachlan doesn't win a Giro stage, we all know that if the entire Giro Route was an ultra race and not a stage race he'd win without a doubt haha. What a champ!
Also feel I should mention how much I enjoy these alternative races and videos--just bought two Rapha bibs and a POC helmet (mine needed replacing in both cases), because I want to put my money into the type of brands that create this content and support riders like Lachy. Cheers guys!

Outstanding. Real cycling if a bit bonkers. Think everyone who has cycled has had a bit of this disruption of normalcy, however Laclhan seems to make an art form of this and yet still retains some form of humour and sanity. Makes you want to just get out and cycle 😀

the time difference between Lachlan and Hayden is just 2 nights of sleep. If the Vuelta distance was combined into 6 stages, LM would be a lock!

I love these. I selfishly want more of them but I think it'd be too much of a good thing and I like being just to the point of forgetting, then boom, new one pops up.
Have a cyclist question. How do you deal with keeping saddle sores away when you're riding that much and sleeping without being totally cleaned down? Or is it part of it and there's no way around it?

Can any bike fitter explain to me why does he have his seatpost reversed and the saddle all the way forward? I get that the idea is to have the weight more on top of the bb axle, but doesn't that mess with all kind of balances on the bike?
totally insane! BTW I'm curious about the lights he used apart from the head torch. Does anyone know?
He's sponsored by garmin and for the GBduro he used the garmin varia UT 800. So I can assume thats what he used here as it was the same profile.
@@aggromeng thanks for replying. That light doesn't count with cartridge battery and can't be charged while in use. Running time is way less than a whole night...so I'm still not sure how he manages to deal with lighting for almost two consecutive nights.
