honestly, as horrid looking as this is, i find it amazing. its cool to see games allow this kind of customization with just a bit of know how, whether it is for being able to run on older hardware or just for the sake of messing around. other games should really look up to valve in this regard.

Yeah, the customization and incredible freedom over settings has always been one of the best feature of Source games. Allowing the players to customize the game for their needs does alot to make them more attached to it.
