You totally captured the guy's vibe with your LV duffle. I took my first train ride to my son's wedding location, I had free parking, charger outlet and some WIFI (thanks Amtrak) and I loved it because those that flew out had major problems with horrible turbulence and delay because of eastern weather and flying makes me really nervous.
Awe it great that you got a chance to spend some time with your mother, yeah, a few days might not feel long enough. My son is making my travel plans back home to Atlanta for 11 days because my dad (93 yo) not doing so good, and it give me time also to visit with my childhood friends and old classmates and catchup with both sides of family.
