- The 4.1 Challenger is extremely popular with fishermen. The polyethylene hull in the Polycraft 4.1 provides a soft ride due to its ability to flex through the chop dished out by rough conditions. The doubled skinned hull also provides a solid and quiet platform unlike that found on noisy aluminium boats. This stealth feature makes it easy to sneak up on spooky fish and the whole fishing experience is more pleasant.

Have seen one after 7 odd years of use and no worries at all. Plastic has faded minimal
Polycraft has been manufacturing boats for 20 years and people said the same thing back when we started regarding exposure to sunlight .Time has demonstrated minimal effect by UV on the boats.

Have seen Poly boats used in Antarctica as tour boats , so yes they can withstand gold temperatures . We also periodically test the material for quality assurance with a drop dart , that test requires negative 40 C before the dart is used .
Are they good enough for bar crossings?
(him) I have had one 10kms off shore and in the rivers. (Me) takes my 45 year old 3.2m tinny with 3 leaks 35km of shore definitely not safe but it's all I can afford but I'm saving for the Brumby can't wait

Mate I've had a tuff tender for 2+ years now and it's honestly the best boat I've ever owned. Super stable for 2 people lure fishing etc and with a 9.9hp on the back it flies. I've had it (foolishly) offshore on the reefs off Cooktown and apart from some strange looks from other boats it handled the job admirably. It mainly gets used on Tinaroo dam chasing Barra, little bit small for estuary bashing up here because even a medium sized croc makes it feel smaller than what it is. Would not hesitate to recommend one to anyone just for its versatility and manoeuvrability. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Yeah same I’ve only owned a Tuff Tender for about 3 months now and it is the best boat ever!

How does this model go in choppy conditions in lakes and rivers?
Probably better than most other boats of similar size and design .The 410 Challenger isn't an offshore hull, but when used in rivers and sheltered waters its hard to find a more stable and soft riding hull .

Chronic Awareness, this boat is extremely tough and you just can damage it so it will probably last at least 6 years if not heaps more. They are great boats!

Just a touch off there mate, 10 - 15 grand.
Brand new, it would cost about 20,000-25,000 dollars but I found a good deal 2nd hand for 12,000

The price of this awesome boat not including the engine is AU$15,889 as of October 2018.
If stored outside the Sun will dry plastic out and it will become brittle & Shatter like a auto ground effects kit and spoiler, plastic bumper covers. Overpriced by 400%, she is a beautiful Dingy.🤑
Robert , there are many different types of plastics ,just like there are many types of metals, some of which rust and some others that dont like stainless steel.The plastic we use to manufacture the boats is LDPE , which is designed for prolonged exposure to UV . The only real time comparison with other products you maybe familiar with would either be a rain water tank or a wheelie bin as they also made from LDPE.
Not much room to fight fish with & take a nice wave over the bow no place to drain the water.
The front and rear cast deck and combined cockpit space ,will be suffice to fight a fish in the 410 Challenger .All water drains into the engine well through plumbing , from there a bilge pump purges the water.

3k for a boat with limited storage for rods, tackle, and rod holders... Hell no. Great boat but it needs improvement for 3k! Shoot, a hobie has better storage than this, and that's sad.
