- The Goro Goro no Mi is a Logia-type Devil Fruit that grants the power to create, control, and transform into lightning at will, making its user a Lightning Human (雷人間 Kaminari Ningen) according to Nico Robin, it is one of the few powers touted as "invincible". The fruit was eaten by Enel.
This Logia's power is to become lightning itself to generate, control, and transform into electricity. The user can discharge variable amounts of electricity from their body to manipulate as they please, including regulate its voltage: 200 million volts being the maximum output (roughly in the range of natural lightning). Even for a Logia, this ability seems outstandingly potent, given the inherent destructiveness of lightning, with Nico Robin stating that among the many existing Devil Fruits, the Goro Goro no Mi's power is one of the few that boasts invincibility. Like any Logia, the user can physically morph into their element. As electricity, they are effectively intangible and can let most attacks (sans those involving Haki or Seastone) phase through them harmlessly. Enemies are dissuaded from directly striking the user with their body or an electrically conductive weapon lest they be electrocuted, affording a melee-combat advantage.

Nah, there is no way Luffy should have survived long enough to fight crocodile 3 whole times, Nami should have died against double finger because she had in her hands was party tricks and Double finger was literally pitying her for the first half of their fight, Ussop took a 4 ton, lemme repeat, AN 8,000 POUND BASEBALL BAT TO THE SKULL when he fought Mr. 4, and I am still convinced that Zoro Awakened both Armament and Observation against Mr. 1

He had the right to. Even now he has among the best observation haki we've seen and a potentially awakened logia. He only lost because oda doesn't understand that lightning melts rubber or doesn't care. If he had kept progressing he would have gotten stronger too.

He defeated Zoro, robin, Sanji and usopp easily, revived himself, and destroyed an entire island, I think he has the rights to be overconfident, he's just really unlucky that Luffy is immune to his powers, otherwise, the events would be different, Luffy could lose but we know he never loses because plot armor.

@@BullyMaguireGaming I looked into a few threads about it on the internet. Some say that every Logia User can alter his body into a form of their choice. But those forms are rare from what I know (Caesar foe). Plus it never really changed his appearance, Caesar just took on the form of gas, while enel would have to be a lightning strike or a power outlet (jk). Instead he gets bigger and still has human features unlike lightning which is a straight line.
Plus when the skypean pierced him with his spear while enel noted he dozed off, his body still dodged it, but we know for a fact, that akainu for example isn't permanently a magma man, or else hits from wb would have splattered him all over the place since magma is a fluid.
Enel however seems to have his df traits permanently (like Luffy), even when he isn't conscious.

Nope. Luffy's fruit is made of rubber which is one of the best insulators against electricity. So electricity won't have any effect on luffy.

Whenever there's anything that has resistance to electricity it causes that energy to be dispersed into heat but the electrical energy still travels regardless
Luffy would be a puddle on the ground, but this is a kids show and kids do eventually learn that rubber is seen as an opposite to electricity so I don't mind it

I want to add that later in One piece it's revealed that Luffy true power is the toonforce, rubber hose style cartoon being specific. That can explain better inside the story this incongruence.

If you're lightning, you can practically travel at the speed of light and yet a human with rubber abilities can still land multiple hits on you. Eneru simply forgotten Luffy has eaten the best devil fruit in One Piece, Plot Plot Armour Fruit.
Tbf tho it was probably less that Luffy being immune to lightning is added to his abilities because Oda thought he made Enel too OP, it was more probably that Oda made Enel have lightning powers to showcase Luffy's immunity to lightning.

No they couldnt. Only person who would be able too is zoro, sanji and luffy. No one else is touching his ass. Jimbei hasnt shown any crazy speed, Luffy being his direct counter speaks for itself, Sanji being of Germa tech, and Zoro being a demon from hell. Saying the Whole Strawhat crew would wipe him is just crazy to say. But even then I think sanji and zoro would still struggle. The only thing Enel lacks in is haki. @@codafett

i am so disappointed by the plot armor. i get y, but it's such a disappointment. if they had stick with reality, luffy would indeed get burned by lightning since it's over 1 billion voltage. again, i get y they did it, but it still would keep us entertained if luffy simply endured the lightning rather than be immune to it
