- My name is Nora. I have a very rare genetic condition. When I tell you what it is, you might find it appealing. You might even wish you had it. But once you hear the whole story, you’ll know that it’s not something to wish for. That’s because reaching my age with this condition is considered unusually successful. The formal name of my condition is congenital insensitivity to pain. It means that I don’t feel pain. I don’t feel any aches either.

Thank you alot for this video, it does explain well CIP and gives a rather good view of how is life for people living with it. CIP also differs in tiny bits from person to person but basically it shows well what each of us is going through or goes through during childhood and adulthood.
Parents of kids in this generation with CIP should not fear the low life expectancy, sure it is real and we are at risk but we learn through time and cope with daily things better and need attention and support but not too much over protection as we mature. I have now reached 35 years old and been living with CIP for so long, parents got a hell of hard times but with maturity and help and understanding, we do learn and make ourselves our place and for CIP persons, its true it is easier to understand this video, what it shows and also What it don't show, we each have our own problems .. Myself i cope everyday with an OCD where i hurt myself or bite resulting from not feeling pain and so i am sure alot have something like this..we end up accepting and living even if certain perception is different for us. Thanks for the people who try to grasp there mind around it to understand. For those who make it a laugh issue :P its cool guys and girls :D we do accept ourselves in some way or another but really its cool if laughing of it can help u understand, we can't be always serious :p
Ive grown with CIP on an island where i dnt know anyone else with the same prob but learn to understand deeper of this problem and yea people : working living and doing the good things of life along with it :D

Even though this condition is dangerous, I still want it. When bullies try to hit you, you wont feel any pain and you can say stuff like "Is that all you can do" to make them feel weak. Even if you die, you wont feel pain. The only problem with dying for me is pain.
