Yes! I try to make a 1.5 lbs loaf weekly for the family (alternating between white and whole grain varieties). You made brioche look easy to make! If I master it, then I’ll add it instead of regular white bread once a month 👍.
All kinds. At home an I used to work in a bakery. It's been awhile since I saw a cake yeast that big, I would have so much fun trying to use that up an sharing goodies with friends an family.
I got my first Kitchen Aid when my daughter was 11. When she graduated from college 10 yrs later I gave it to her and bought myself a new one. The 33 yr old one still works and so does my 22 yr old. Both were used hard. My secret is never run your mixer so long that the motor gets hot. Kneading processes can do this so I stop the machine frequently, clip a towel over the top of the bowl and let it rest for 15 mins. I will do this at least 4 times. Works like a charm and your machine will last a LONG time.
I'm already a baker/pastry chef but watching Martha always brings me back to when I was a young girl pursuing my dreams. Martha was one of my biggest influence on why I wanted to be a baker... her Martha Bakes videos always brings warmth to my heart. ❤️
Hello dear friend I must tell I love this comment so much I don't know how it feels being with you I just want to know you. How's the family and everyone around you how's the weather condition over there hope you keep safe?
I grew up in a town in Peru. I loved watching my grandmother and her sisters bake five or six times a year. It was a monumental effort. The brick oven had a diameter of at least three meters. My grandfather died in April 1985, and a year later the big house was sold. It was the end of an era. Everything was done by hand. The day started at dawn. It ended at midnight. Writing this lines sweetens my heart. My grandmother and her sisters, Mavila and Clorinda, as well as my mother would have marveled to watch Martha's baking, her oven, her elegance. They worked so very hard; there was no electricity. I would like to honor their lives. There has always been a longing for those sweet buns, breads, sponge cakes, etc. All in my memory taste gloriously. Thank you Martha, watching you bake and give the measurements in pounds, helps elicit those sweet old memories.
I do alot of baking but never Brioche. I made my first loaf, wow. I did use my mixer and it made my life much easier. It is a labor of love but so worth it.
Thank you, Ms. Stewart for sharing this lovely recipe. I have baked Brioche using a very similar recipe. Next to the good quality ingredients it is the time for proofing and resting that makes the defining difference in the wonderful bread that comes out of the oven at the end. Greetings to you from Germany!
I made bread once and it was a disaster!!! I didn't put enough yeast in I. It had the texture of English muffins.. That bread looks beautiful!!! Thanks Martha!!!!!
Thanks Martha. They turned out beautifully. I have a convection oven but is is gas. So I think the oven runs hotter. Next time the only adjustment needed is lowering the heat setting. Other than that it was a really good first experience Next time I’m going to try lowering the oven setting as it got a little br
This was the first time I’ve made a brioche dough and it was fantastic - I divided the dough and made one as a loaf. With the second portion I improvised by rolling it out into a rectangle, made a cinnamon, brown sugar and pecan crumble and made into scrolls. Great recipe!
That looks amazing. I have tried other recipes for brioche but want the rolls to be fluffier. I am going to make this recipe and see if it is more to my liking. Looks amazing. Ty 😊
Yes! I make bread... Occasionally I mill/grind prairie Gold hard white wheat, which I love! I make loaf/sandwich bread, rolls and biscuits... but never brioche before now! Thanks for the tutorial!! Question... who makes that beautiful bread knife?? xoxop
great technique, looks lovely! A baba dough (and a savarin dough while we're at it) are rather different from brioche doughs, though ;-) at least according to classical french cuisine
Now I know what to bake when I get my KitchenAid mixer. I do have one question. Can I make brioche dough with whole wheat flour? I'm currently using whole wheat pastry flour and Einkorn flour. I can get whole wheat bread flour if necessary. I get my flour from a nice man at the farmer's market.
I really want to bake a loaf but the timing? It seems as if you should start it before you go to bed, sleep during the eight hour proofing and then the next morning continue?
I plan to give brioche a try today, but I don't have fresh yeast. If I use dry yeast, is it regular or quick rise that I'd use? I'm assuming the amount used for dry is different if I use dry yeast rather than fresh. How much do I use? thanks
I did it with a hand mixer. It's a lot of work, because you really have to kneed the dough well. Mine did look the same as in Marthas video at first, than lost some butter during the raising time. I was quite worried. But I finished the recipe anyways and it turned out well (^.^)
I'm Team Martha 💋 ... OMG 😲. Halfway through I couldn't believe 😭 it got better.... wow. Very well spoken too. 👏. Great diction. She's nice to look at. Lol my fangirl came out 😆😻💕🙏🕊💌
Martha please have you had plastic surgery or is this your God given beauty? I remember your mum was beautiful even in her old age. I’m sure I’m not the only curious one. Can you do a Q&A?
Thanks for watching! Have you ever made your own bread?
Yes have used your bread recipe and turns out good each time. Thanks
I just learned how to in the past 6 months (thanks to TH-cam) and I’m hooked!
I make bread every day. There's nothing quite like homemade bread.

I miss the original Martha Stewart show so much. It's nice to be able to get snippets here and there.
Martha is the very best, straightforward, superb, elegant in every word and move. Thank You, Martha! Yelena, CA
Martha, you have always been the master of baking. You set the standard of perfection many years ago☺
I don’t know if it is just me , but I think Martha make it really easy for one to follow her recipes.
I always loved watching Martha’s mother cook!
One of the best and most delicious breads - well worth the effort. I'm glad to have seen Martha making it!
Who doesn't crave mastering Martha's dough?
Top notch yeast on this video...
Love this Martha , your amazing talent teaches soooo many , thank you! 💕💕

While I watch this keenly, I’m thinking how cool it is to have a mom like this? So much to learn from her🥰!!

Martha’s got my mouth watering on a Good Friday!🤤🍞✨
Hello Pretty ♥️
Use a wooden stick to mix yeast and warm the bol. Metal decrease the temp of the water.
You have a very soothing voice and appearance.

Martha is the only one bold enough to wear a crisp white shirt whilst baking 🙌
well to be fair flour is what is gonna get everywhere the most and that won't show :P nothing she has is very splashy
Whilst!😄
Actually, it’s more brave to wear black - which she’s also done while baking with flour! 😀

thats beautiful bread martha makes all her recipes look so easy and tasty

Plugra (French high fat butter) makes everything great ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I love she bakes and she explained with care ❤❤
I'm so happy to see Martha Stewart use a scale for this recipe
That looks amazing. I have tried other recipes for brioche but want the rolls to be fluffier. I am going to make this recipe and see if it is more to my liking. Looks amazing. Ty 😊
Martha, a Danish dough whisk makes stirring up the dough such a breeeze.
martha make fruit tarts and lemon tarts next! I would love to learn how to make those desserts
In Sicily they serve ice cream in brioche. So decadent and very delicious!
I like if Martha gives more of the history of these recipes so we can learn how they originated- like she did for Penetoinne !!
I might try this recipe Martha. I also have a KitchenAid in a Tilt Head and I am getting my Bowl Lift in April 17.
I love my Stand Mixer!
you can freeze this kind of yeast. They will be ok. Just add sugar when thawing.
Can't wait to try this -
thanks Martha!! 😍
You are so welcome!
She makes my heart smile.

Very classy. Excellent video. Will be making this soon. Thank you.
Very good recipe! Thanks so much!
Hi Martha Happy Easter to you and your family.
Well,I'll give it a try soon.By the way, we say "baba" which means "daddy" in Turkish :)
great technique, looks lovely! A baba dough (and a savarin dough while we're at it) are rather different from brioche doughs, though ;-) at least according to classical french cuisine
Thank you Martha...! How are you?
Holy moly. I know what I’m making today.
It must be taste good and looks good 😌
Beautiful bread!🍞
Actually should be called Martha can do anything
I would love to try this recipe of brioche bread. My question is if I don't have fresh yeast, can I use instant dry yeast? If so how much?
Yes. 1 ounce fresh = 28 grams
Use one third, 10 grams, or 2 teaspoons
These look so yummy, and the rum one 😍
Happy Easter Martha
I like all your baking if I want to use F S A yeast what is the rachio I always use instant yeast thank u Martha is beautiful the brioche

I recently discovered the ANKARSRUM mixer. Beats the kitchen aid by far.
Looking delicious 😋 thanks for sharing #Martha
I have seen this flour container a few times now on your videos, what brand and size is it? I love it sooooo much
Yummm! And my favorite Bread.
Can we use brioche dough to make fried donut ? Thanks 😊 💕

You certainly can! There are many recipes for whole wheat flour brioche. I've never tried it, but all brioche is delicious so it should be good.
@@mygirldarby Thanks. I will try one.
Yes you can!
@@MarthaStewart Should I use a mix of whole wheat pastry flour and whole wheat bread flour? Or can I use Einkorn flour in the mix?
Hi Martha. Very beautiful bread but I don't have d that kind of yeast otherwise I have packaged of dry yeast.
I love the colour , yummy
@Martha Stewart Your brioche is amazing !
Hi, I used this recipe for my brioche bread, but for some reason my dough was very soft and 'wet'. Does someone know how to fix this?
Hello, thank you for sharing...can you make the dough with dried yeast? If yes how many packets? Thanks Andrea
Loved watching you

With such a long rise, use active. Instant would rise and fall (overproof) during that second 8-hr rise.
i wish i found yours first because i tried another recipe and didnt rise like yours next time i will make it your way
Has anybody been able to make this without the bread machine maker/mixer. I don't have 1 but so want to try this dough
I did it with a hand mixer. It's a lot of work, because you really have to kneed the dough well. Mine did look the same as in Marthas video at first, than lost some butter during the raising time. I was quite worried. But I finished the recipe anyways and it turned out well (^.^)

That was so fun!
Can you believe that this woman is 79?
What? OMG! I have been a fan since my 20's, I don't even know where the time went! 🙈♥️♥️♥️ You mean she is having her big birthday this year?
Thank you I did same 🥰🥰🔥🔥was amazing
Hi. Is it advisable to use bread improver.
how much is 1/2 oz fresh yeast compared to instant yeast?
Can't readily (or affordably) find cake yeast. How much instant/self rising should I use? Also in 5 Tbs warm milk? Thanks
Is very very good
Martha please have you had plastic surgery or is this your God given beauty? I remember your mum was beautiful even in her old age. I’m sure I’m not the only curious one. Can you do a Q&A?
Look very delicious 🤤😋
EXCELLENT!
Thank you.
You're welcome!
She has the same brand of KitchenAid as me :)
No you have the same as her. Remember shes the Queen 👸
Супер!!😁💐💐💐
Beautiful Martha
What type of flour do we use for brioche?
where I can buy the baba cup molds? I check in amazon and I cant found yours. Thank you
Look for a restaurant supply store, or you can use popover molds for these.
