However, hopefully this video can put some options on people's radar. And ya, the Taimanov is really starting to trend again along with the Kan.
Dragon or Najdorf for the attacking player...Kan or O'kelly for the positional.Myself,im not a big fan and you can lose the game quickly with a wrong move.Play it at your peril,great when you win but painful when you lose....stick to the Alehine or Czech pirc.

Hi Solomon, as white I play the Snyder and Grand Prix. Mostly Snyder if e6 but using both covers a lot of territory. Very similar other than where the dark squared bishop goes. You covered both real well previously, so maybe those two first? I love playing the Scheveningen with a6 before e6 and your right, Kasparov is the model. Would be great to see a couple of his games showing how he plays this defense! Excellent video.

@@TheChessGiant no. I m scoring really well with the bird. It seems i found my opening to work with. It fit pretty well with my style. I tried the sturm gambit but with poorly result. I was just thinking about "why not play e4 instead of C4 after d5??" In the lichess master database i found Only One game where white won. The problem Is that After 2. D4?! The engigne evaluates the position -2,2 🙈 but i will give it a shot. Let me know what do u think about It. Congrats for the channel, really food content
can't believe this has so few views, this is exactly the type of instructional content people look for when starting out. I'd love to see how to beat the anti-sacilian openings without transposing into the french, since when I play white I hate going into French after trying to use the alapin 😅

Little surprised there was no mention of the Sveshnikov Sicilian. The favorite of World Champion Magnus Carlsen. The Sicilian is such a vast opening. Personally I am working on the tiamonov and the Kan. Video on either one would work. Great introduction to the Sicilian!

But small chunks that are digestible like this instructional video are really helpful. For now... I'm going to stick with my Pirc, but going to keep this as a goal

I stopped playing the Sicilian because of the multitude of variations for white. I wanted to play the Kan variation, but it seemed like most of the time white played the Smith-Morra. Give me a reason to play the Sicilian again.
Hey Dennis! Ya the Sicilian player simply has to be ready for a bunch of anti-Sicilians and gambits like the Smith-Morra you just mentioned. Interesting because oftentimes (at lower levels at least) white will choose a sideline most of the time it seems.
What is your rating? I honestly don't recommend (tournament players) the Sicilian Defense until you've reached a rating of 1600 or 1800. It's very complex and takes a ton of work. However, chess is all about having fun so if you're not quite there yet and want to try it out, by all means - go for it!! Also style of play is a factor, if you love complex positions that take hours to understand, the Sicilian is awesome. If you are more positional or just like openings which are easily digestible, the Sicilian Defense ain't the best option. Hope this helps!
My rate at lichess is about 1700+-, l think sometimes it’s better to change the opening when you play with the same people also I might join a tournament next month,but I really play for fun and complex positions would be interested. Thank you for your help

Lol it really is huge. As white I like to play it like the Ruy Lopez. So there's the Rossolimo and Moscow but sometimes black goes e6 instead of d6 and I play the Kramnik.
Hey Walter! Yes it is.... yes it is. And that's great I like that formation for white. The Kramnik is really solid too with those two lightsquared pawns hunkering down on d5.

Sicilian is nice, but hippo is better, but both are fun. Sicilan is more fun to play against because of the grand prix attack
