Your videos are very helpful, as someone who was stuck at 1000 for months finally hit 600 mark and deleted my account and now i can really focus on my life and health, Thanks Levy.
Haha, I played two games with Levy on Twich long time ago, and one was a Grunfeld with me playing black, that ended with a draw after Levy's lecture about how random people should never play the Grunfeld. But I always loved it - it's principal, uncompromising, fights for the initiative and keeps white on his toes.
The tricky part about getting to learn these openings is that a lot of the time they require my opponent to play a particular set of moves that my opponent doesnt play and i dont know the intermediate responses so i end up just playing basic opening rules
Italian and KIA are pragmatic openings for white, with Italian make sure you understand the queenside play in those positions. In the KIA, you get a solid position where you need to find the correct places to strike. With black, e5 is always good and solid against various lines ~ best by test. Against d4, there a lot of fun systems, try out the nimzo indian or the bogo indian
It would be helpful for me if you kept adding opening videos to your playlist or adding the opening’s name in the title. That way I could recover any of your videos about openings.
I love King's Indian style setups and have had my eye in the Grunfeld for a while. I like seeing this quick and dirty breakdown of the ideas of the position for an intermediate player, it makes it easy to get into.
As a Grünfeld player and a fan of yours, hoping that someday youll change your mind on the opening and make a course on it, I cant express how cathartic it is that you not only made a great video on it but also a fantastic course.
@@fawzanulhaque483learn whatever you want, what matters the most is that the positions you get from the opening make sense to you and you find them fun to play. It’s good to experiment and try different things to get a better understanding of what you like
Dear Levi, I wish the best holidays I hope that 2025 will be a wonderful year. I just wanted to say that chessly 2.0 is so good don’t listen to the people that say it bad. After I saw my 3 favorite openings (Vienna,Caro-kann,Leningrad Dutch) I was so tempted to buy them. I just wanna say keep up the good work❤
Gotham then: Caro Kann is the best Gotham now: play the Caro Kann along with other openings, they’re really good ngl Just goes to show you how versatile levy is, able to switch between openings. What a great player.
Thanks! Now I know what I can follow like gospel and never think for myself at all. I shall play the same lines no matter what the position is and get mad at you for my own faults.
I play the Grünfeld Defense. In all honesty, I have had great success with it. I was always waiting for Levy to post a video about this opening, so thanks Levy!
Love these videos! Would love to see some speed run videos again highlighting the openings from Chessly. Back to the old days of classic Gotham videos...

I just played my first ever Grunfeld game based on those first few moves and won. Its crazy how tactical the position becomes when the opponent starts with d4
Hi levy, great video! This opening is vert good, and i am happy to see you making a video about the grunfeld, Unfortunately, people dont play much Queen's gambit at my level, but grunfeld will be always at my heart.
This is the exact type of Opening I was looking for. Something aginat 1.d4. I always play the Fried Liver white with or the scandinavian with black, but there is always those weirdos who play 1.d4 and I wanted something fun to play against it.
Please do a video on Jobava London! Alex Banzea has blown up because of his Jobava videos. I understand the business side: you want to pick less popular openings to promote so that you're the dominant youtuber for that opening. But the Jobava can be played up to 2000 and it needs a proper Gotham treatment!
Ernst Grunfeld played this opening as black against Alekhine once, beat him, and Alekhine resigned by flinging his king across the room in a fit of rage.
I just want to say: Thank you. I follow you for quiet a while and watch your videos daily. You are the only chess-TH-camr, that explains moves in a manner that I (as a 1000 Elo noob) can follow and understand. That's all I wanted to say :) P.S.: Chessly 2.0 is awesome! As a subscriber of "old" chessly, I want to thank you to put all of your courses in our subscription. Much love from Austria.

Good Chess requires self awareness.
WHAAAAAAAT WHY LEVYYY
reason or proof?
Levy: "Never touch Grufeld, it's too complicated"
Also Levy:
I thought the same hahaha

I think he changed his decision during the bad openings video
ah yes my favorite chess opening, the grufeld
I was trying to open a different notification Levi
Me too
Levy: My name is Levyyyy not leevaaii 😂😂😂
My god same😂
Premoved the notification
wait do you get other notification ?

Play Italian game as white and caro kann as black since it expects your opponent to make the most natural move
Sicilian is also nice as black but very complex for beginners

Now that you've showed this, every 1200 on the earth is gonna play this

Blunder in middle game,
Loss in end game
Relatable
I am the same way, we all need to work on tactics and endgames lol

"Opening for Intermediate and early advanced players"
Cant wait to see every 800 play it this week after watching this.
Lol same thought
I already match against some of them, i gained 100 elo points thanks to them hahah
I can tell you from 800 and below experience, probably less than 1 percent of 800 level is ever playing d4,c4 as white in an opening.
I'm 850 so I'm confused should I learn this opening now or not??

My losing streak reached from 10 to 20.
Levy never fails to advertise himself.
Levy promoting chessly in a way we can't say that he is doing it
Ironic how just 2 years ago Levy made a video - “The 4 worst openings” and the grunfeld was one of them and now he’s saying it’ll skyrocket your elo😅
Actually, in that video I said I thought I would put the Grunfeld, but it's not as bad as I thought!

Last time I was this early, Kasparov was still the youngest world champion
The openings I play usually skyrocket my opponents' ELOs.

Just goes to show you how versatile levy is, able to switch between openings. What a great player.
That is necessary if you want to become even an intermediate chess player
if i use this and lose, it will be ur fault exclusively
It's not his problem you have to learn to play properly it's great opening
@@ArpitSingh-um7jz no, if it doesn't skyrocket my elo, it's entirely his fault

I was playing this opening literally half an hour ago and win a couple of games
I think the main problem with playing an opening that levy recommends is that now all your opponents are prepared
