regarding the fuel consumption issue; maybe they can let the player change fuel settings as before but when it's reaches critical point, show messages from the team as dashboard messages like "mapping 2" or "change fuel mapping" to be more clear. it would take the brain work (or frustration) of calculating fuel and constant dash checking from the player and can add immersion to the game.
I finally bought this two weeks ago after playing Ride 4/5 for a long time. My first hour was infuriating as the bike kept throwing me off while doing what felt like realistic things. However, I got the hang of braking quickly and I love it now. Not sure what AI difficulty I'm playing but I'm not using any of the assisted modes presented early in the game. One noticeable difference is the bike does not turn under hard braking which kinda makes sense. When you miss a turn in this game you have to be extremely careful on recovery to avoid crashing which is pretty realistic.

I'm absolutely in love with the 'feel' of the game, even if I do miss the pick-up effect a little. I think this iteration has the potential to be one of my favorites of all time. Great review! I am currently playing MotoGP 23. The pickup effect was very annoying at first, especially in Portimao, but I was just not used to it. Now I love it, it adds an extra dimension as I need to be mindfull of the throttle. Same for braking, I prefer the steady brake instead of slamming full on the brakes and turn it in. Fuel consuption the same, I would go full on to be in the front group at first, change my mapping to manage my fuel for the rest of the race. I would like these kind of adjustments to be in the difficulty settings. I like the challenge of playing without any assist. The steward system looks like a beta version still. I do like that they introduced it. Anyway, still think that we can be happy we have a developer like Milestone who is able to deliver us a fun and great to play MotoGP game each year.
I used to play with a handful of people from Ride 1 and to some GP games. It’s a blast when you can race with some people, but man GP is hard so hard to be good at without massive amount of work.

I am curious about one thing with this year's title. I don't remember if it was a feature in MotoGP 19, but in MotoGP 22 there was a feature where in the career mode, rather than joining one of the factory teams (Moto3, Moto2, MotoGP), you could opt to join a new team. Ducati Hertz, KTM Hertz and Aprillia Parts Europe for example. Has this made a return in MotoGP 24?

Aggression, racecraft, development points, crash likeliehood, etc. I think adding that really does differentiate the riders based on their real world behaviour. Secondly, I really do miss historical riders. I want to be able to be Biaggi, Rossi, Stoner, Hayden, Bayliss.... I am hoping that's something they would consider.
8:14 to be fair you were wide by two bike lengths here from the apex so there was space for him to lunge. If you prefer a wider line and someone else goes for a tigher but still perfectly normal line, you are gonna get the short end of the stick, so it’s good to tighten your entry a bit
But this was qualifying and Josh had a grey sector in the first split. I would expect a lunge in a race and I welcome it but not in practice or quali. The point was more that they even come out of the pits and make agressive overtakes in the timed sessions. For race sessions I completely agree with you
Got back into MotoGP last year and loved last years game. Played a few games in the past and found it difficult, so really appreciate what Milestone have done for newer players in the last two additions. Pre ordered this and played a couple races, the graphics are stunning and a definite upgrade on last year. Gameplay is great, the adaptive AI is fantastic and will hopefully allow me to find my skill level, as I often found myself either being too far ahead or too far behind. The rider transfers feature is immense and due to spice up your career mode saves, it’s a great game!
Hello new Motogp fan here. Would you recommend this game for beginners, I played some Motogp 22 and just got braking under control. Is this game easier to play than 22?
I didn't play motogp 22, but this one has from beginner to pro settings so if you got it, you could start where you feel comfortable and slowly make it harder until you have mastered it.
Good to hear phisics is good on this one, unlike 23. Bikes do not pickup like that IRL when applying throttle. You actually have to do a lot of effort to do it like that IRL. I'll grab the game hearing this has been changed back.

Adaptive A.I. feature is great, but i wish that is told us the difficulty level %, so i know that I'm getting better at the game. A.I. not just plowing into you makes the game an 9.7/10
Yeah that would be nice, but the difficulty changes dynamically so I’m not sure where they would show us the difficulty level as it would change so much

None of the gravel traps and new run offs and kerbs are there. Hopefully there will be a patch. They've updated Qatar.. so yeah. I've seen some Moto 3 race videos. for me the stewards are the biggest source of frustration here... How often I am rammed into the race, pushed aside, made to fall... nothing happens. no penalty or even a warning for Ki Drivers
if you wanna have a smoother bike when downshifting just tune EBS down and it will roll more because less engine brake. what upsets the bike is the engine brake. it brakes too hard! if you soften it, it will go nicer.
Played quite a few hours now, i missed last years games so it feels like a big change from 22. Ive had a lot of fun so far on career and love the additions of adaptive ai, penalising ai and the rider market. Not had any issues with any of them yet which surprised me a bit. One of the best entries ive played in years.

Since you tried things out: I am still wondering, when riders move classes, what happens to the MotoGP-Riders who are exchanged and what happens to the free slots coming to Moto3? Are Riders replaced by RBRookiesCup-Riders or are there generic new ones or do Moto2 and MotoGP-Riders take a step down, which would be very unrealistic?
Basically, riders don't get replaced. So you wouldn't just have a smaller grid if everyone moved up for example. Red Bull Rookies aren't in the game as well sadly

I had a race red flagged because of a major AI accident on one of my races! A nice little touch from Milestone as well as the penalties! Never seen that in one of the games before!
Agreed mate ! I love the game and it is the best one!! Just a question do you use the adaptive triggers on the ps5 controller or do you turn them off? Im still unsure as I had them off on MotoGP 23 but they’re back on the new one!
Glad you like it. I play on PC so the adaptive triggers aren't an option for me. Although I wouldn't use the triggers for a racing game. I find the extra stiffness and rumble tires my finger out
Great review sir. Re the moto 2 bikes locking the back wheel if your too aggressive on the downshifts, that may be because they don’t run slipper clutches in that class. I’m not sure if that’s the case but if it is I think that’s good attention to detail. Just a thought.
How do I change my game experience as I chose the wrong one but not annoying it so need beginner also how do I tuck in automatically as I have to lean forward to tuck it in all time to stop wheelies even tho my anti wheelie on max it won’t stop
Really good in depth review. I would consider myself an intermediate rider. But love the game. I too feel that from the rider personalisation is lacking. Same faces, some animations. I almost feel a little cheated on that front for getting this game yearly and no real change is given to this area. Also, for me the commentary is always the same when leaving or entering the pits. It could do with a variation imho. Great video by the way.
Sounds good although disappointed that it sounds like it's less realistic, specifically the pickup effect, I prefer realistic physics even if it means I crash and struggle to win.

Biggest question I have about the career mode/rider market is with Moto3, for example when riders move up to Moto2 and the dominoes start to fall can riders be replaced by auto generated riders? maybe Moto2 riders moving down?

Anyone else have an issue on a flag to flag race every time I enter any pit lane I get a LLP while under speed limit and enter the pit lane the right way
I got the game (on Steam don PC), but I have a big problem when I finish creating my character, and it tries to save, I get this message: - An error occurred during the backup process! anyone have a solution?
Been waiting for this review! Looks a step up with a couple of minor lazy decisions from the developers as per usual (not changing animations and stuff). I would have loved to have seen the full tracklist in this review. Does it include the classics like Laguna Seca and Brno? Bikes sound far better to me! I'll certainly be buying it.
Are there options regarding the adaptive Ai as it does sound too artificial despite keeping things exciting. I mean if you suck at the next 3 tracks then suddenly youre best track is next then surely the Ai would be too slow which if changing in the race would say to me it’s like the whole “catch up” thing where they do just close the gap despite being slower. I love the idea but I feel like there should be more consistency and less fakery based off what you said
For all the testing I did for the review the racing always seemed to keep you close enough to the podium and keep riders around you to fight with. There was occsaionly a time where a rider would be much quicker than the rest however. The adaptive A.I is good but it only caps to the maxium difficulty and unfortunately for the better players the 120% difficulty is not hard enough for some tracks so I did end up turning the adaptive A.I off after 8 rounds of career mode
The game is so good! I was shocked how much better it is than previous titles. The AI is awesome now with adaptive AI. I can actually comfortably play in helmet camera without worrying about being sent into orbit from the AI 😂
It's disappointing that it seems like they haven't updated some of the bikes. The KTMs still have the triangle tail wing from the beginning of LAST year. They moved to the square wings in the second half of 2023.. now they're using the multi layered square wing, but in game it's still the year old triangle wing? The Hondas have the wrong front wing. Also I'm not sure if I just haven't figured it out yet but I'm having trouble trail braking in Motogp 24.
I hope the adaptive AI works. The last few games have been boring for me. I find I dominate quali and then race you can't find a spot where it's even. Either they are too fast or too slow. I'm in Moto 3 in career right now and it feels loads better this year. That combined with penalties makes it feel like a better game already. The transfer rumors panel in career mode is awesome too. Codemasters should pay attention and put that in their F1 games too
So far for me the adaptive A.I has been excellent. Its kept all of my races close but career mode bikes lacking power compared to the competition still happens

Not liking the adaptive ai...it seems to "adjust" itself mid race and pick up seconds a lap.

As someone who’s ridden this game makes the bikes feel a lot more realistic the way you have to be smooth is true to reality
It still bothers me a lot that MotoGP doesn't support crossplay between PS5, Series X and PC. Because multiplayer on PC is pretty much dead.
They said that the power setting 1-3 doesnt affect the fuel anymore but affects the tyre degradation.
Tyre degradations affected by 36 percent with that.
Yes lower TCS gives you more power but means you have to be sensitive with acceleration and that's beautiful and how it should be

I felt that way too but I've adjusted to MotoGP 24 and I really like it

I would consider myself an intermediate rider. But love the game.
I too feel that from the rider personalisation is lacking.
Same faces, some animations.
I almost feel a little cheated on that front for getting this game yearly and no real change is given to this area.
Also, for me the commentary is always the same when leaving or entering the pits.
It could do with a variation imho.

Sounds good although disappointed that it sounds like it's less realistic, specifically the pickup effect, I prefer realistic physics even if it means I crash and struggle to win.
I felt that way at worst but the bikes feel so good that its not a problem :)

It’s less simulator and more arcade-like in my opinion which makes it less fun and challenging. I like when they behave like the real thing.

What tips would you give for a novice bike gamer. I’m using ride5 to start.
Take your time and put no pressure on yourself for one. It’s a big learning curve. I have plenty of guides if you need extra assistance 👍🏻👍🏻

Biggest question I have about the career mode/rider market is with Moto3, for example when riders move up to Moto2 and the dominoes start to fall can riders be replaced by auto generated riders? maybe Moto2 riders moving down?
Riders can't move down and they won't be replaced by A.I so I'm not sure yet
@@DrAce46 maybe teams expand or decrease the amount of bikes they have, feel like I am now just saying nonsense that is too unrealistic lol, it’s something I am very interested to find out when I get the game

How much more difficult to handle are the bikes in Moto GP 24 compared with some of the faster bikes in Ride 5?
It takes time to adjust, so you'll need a while to get used to the different physics and power

Not sure what mode you mean. But there isn’t any other mode apart from career, online and quick races/time trial

Are there options regarding the adaptive Ai as it does sound too artificial despite keeping things exciting. I mean if you suck at the next 3 tracks then suddenly youre best track is next then surely the Ai would be too slow which if changing in the race would say to me it’s like the whole “catch up” thing where they do just close the gap despite being slower.
I love the idea but I feel like there should be more consistency and less fakery based off what you said
For all the testing I did for the review the racing always seemed to keep you close enough to the podium and keep riders around you to fight with. There was occsaionly a time where a rider would be much quicker than the rest however. The adaptive A.I is good but it only caps to the maxium difficulty and unfortunately for the better players the 120% difficulty is not hard enough for some tracks so I did end up turning the adaptive A.I off after 8 rounds of career mode

They do but it’s really quick, they don’t sit there staring at you this time 😂
The game is so good! I was shocked how much better it is than previous titles. The AI is awesome now with adaptive AI. I can actually comfortably play in helmet camera without worrying about being sent into orbit from the AI 😂

It's disappointing that it seems like they haven't updated some of the bikes. The KTMs still have the triangle tail wing from the beginning of LAST year. They moved to the square wings in the second half of 2023.. now they're using the multi layered square wing, but in game it's still the year old triangle wing? The Hondas have the wrong front wing. Also I'm not sure if I just haven't figured it out yet but I'm having trouble trail braking in Motogp 24.

I hope the adaptive AI works. The last few games have been boring for me. I find I dominate quali and then race you can't find a spot where it's even. Either they are too fast or too slow. I'm in Moto 3 in career right now and it feels loads better this year. That combined with penalties makes it feel like a better game already. The transfer rumors panel in career mode is awesome too. Codemasters should pay attention and put that in their F1 games too
So far for me the adaptive A.I has been excellent. Its kept all of my races close but career mode bikes lacking power compared to the competition still happens
