@@CrizzyEyes She just has a completely different personality in the manga. It's pretty noticeable lot less stubborn.
I think we gotta' take into consideration the fact that the director ( can't recall if it was Ikuhara or Junichi Sato along with someone else ) wanted to change Rei's personality, influenced by the trends && context of the time, which a lot of people did like because she turned out as a hot-headed passionate character with tons of charisma. I haven't read the manga, but did watch Crystal/Eternal and honestly I think Rei's a little dull there, well, all the characters do feel kinda dull since it's mostly focused on advancing in the story than giving some spotlight to the characters so we can explore more about them.

You know it's funny that Bunny was actual the german dub name of Usagi while the rest of the names were intact, apparently Usagi is her real name still in the german dub but her nickname is Bunny, so I thought Joe did a really clever reference there.
P.S.: Sailor Saturn/Hotaru is my favorite senshi! (poor girl)
There was a few translations that took the name a bit too literally and called her Bunny as well.

WWII was a wild time. Japan had some propaganda that could loosely be considered anime. Although I'm sure it was just a jab :P
