  • Angkor is one of the most important archaeological sites in South-East Asia. Stretching over some 400 km2, including forested area, Angkor Archaeological Park contains the magnificent remains of the different capitals of the Khmer Empire, from the 9th to the 15th century. They include the famous Temple of Angkor Wat and, at Angkor Thom, the Bayon Temple with its countless sculptural decorations. UNESCO has set up a wide-ranging programme to safeguard this symbolic site and its surroundings.

I watch this video with the sound turned off. It gives me the opportunity to absorb the images fully. I think of what it takes to create magnificent creations I'm looking at now. The sculptures are alive when I watch them in silence. I admire the sculptors of those images on the wall. They showed us how people lived in that time. They gave us ageless wonder and esthetics.

This is a beautiful Hindu temple built in the golden period. There are Tamil inscriptions on the temple suggesting the Tamil kings influence who spread their kingdom from south India to across south east Asia, Philippines. Naga in Sanskrit is snake and is shown in this temple too in video.

Khmer Empire and Ancient India are practicing Buddhism and our Khmer King Suryavarman tolerated Hinduism religion that has influenced in Kmers culture. Indian and Khmers are known to be in a close relationship since ancient histories through trade and diplomatic relation. Even during the Golden era 1950-60-1970 my father was a successful entrepreneur in Gemologies in Pailin and many of he’s business partners was among Indians, Tamils people as well. Khmers architectural might has the style of Tamil but it doesn’t meant that Tamil king build Angkor. Angkor Wat was build my Khmer King Suryavarman ll . Naga are known as the Khmer mythology princess the giant statues with both wings spread out represent the snake Naga as seven heads .

This is the architecture of Khom Siam. Not Khmer's. Khmers have DNA, which is different from the Siamese, Laotian, Burmese, and Mon peoples in this region. The Khmer comes from tribes in Indonesia and India. There is no Khmer Kingdom in the world. There was only the Khom Kingdom of Siam. The word Khom is a word that is not the same word as Khmer. Westerners tend to write history in a simple way. without understanding the local language of Southeast Asia

The Hindu Khmer Civilisation of 9th - 14th century was never ever an "empire" if so, over which country ? Definitely not over the 2nd century Champa nor over the Thai either and it was the Thai who destroyed the Hindu Khmer Civilisation and almost all the Hindu Khmers, for this was a mystical fairy tall tale invented by the 2 Frenchmen Henri Mouhot and George Coedès and the ignorant indochinese native peasant Cambodians loved the fairy tale. The indochinese native peasant Cambodians who always live mostly in the country side were not affected by the destruction of the Hindu Angkorian Civilisation and the Khmers, but it left them without religion and wisdom, thus it was Siam or Thailand who introduced Buddhism into Cambodia in the 15th century and since the peasant Cambodians were ignorant of Vedic Sanskrit of the Hindu Khmers so just a few generations after the 15th century they forgot quickly the real event and history and from then on they had invented a lot of glorious fairy tales and even called themselves the real Khmers and believing that their ancestors had built an empire... Who are the peasant Cambodians ? They are the same indochinese native tribes of aboriginal people who have inhabited the Indochina Peninsula for more than 50000 years and today commonly found as part of the population of Cambodia, central and south Vietnam, Laos, Thailand and Malaysia as well as Myanmar... May be, they think that is their former empire ?!

@@KambojaKing I am a Cambodian and not interested in Lies and Being Ignorant. The word "Khmer" that every Cambodian called themselves is from the Vedic Sanskrit words "अर्यन् खेमर" Aryan Khemara meaning straight to the point : a Cambodian who thinks, speaks and lives his life always with Intelligence and Truth. History is a stories of events which can be proven as indenieable fact but if not then it is just a story, a tale or a tall tale. Henri Mouhot and George Coedès had invented the Myth of the "Khmer Empire Saga" because they were ignorant of the History of the Indochina Peninsula of more than 10000 years. There are 2 pillars of Wisdoms for the Kingdom of Cambodian : 1st - The 500 years Hindu Khmer Civilisation from 9th - 14th century CE; 2nd is the current 500 years Buddhist Indochinese Cambodian Civilisation. When Kampuchea came into being it was made up of two distinct type of people : The Hindu Cambodians of King Kaundinya I and the Indochina Native Tribesmen Cambodians of Queen Soma. The word "Aryan Khemara" or "Noble Spiritually Enlightened Free Man" was coined by a Brahmin as a highest standard for a Cambodian to live his life towards that Ideal.
98% of the Hindu Cambodians died with their Civilisation in the 15th century CE. During 15th century, Cambodia went through great turmoil and dard ages and the Cambodians could no longer made head or tail of the History of their beloved country because most of their scholars were dead and gone so they brought in the country, in order to replace the vacuum left by the collapse of the "Hindu Khmer Civilisation", the Sri Lankan Pali Tripitaka Buddhism. My dear beloved brother Cambodians, you and I, if we want to justify to call ourselves a "Khmer", we must learn to see what is true is true and what is untrue is untrue and what we do not as neither true nor false we must learn to be humbly admit our ignorant, for to be able admit one's own ignorant is Wisdom in itself...

Since the first century kingdom of Funan. The kingdom was hindu from Kaudinya(Brahman). Story of Preah thong and Neang Neak(Naga kingdom). Two buddhist monks from Funan named Mandrasena and Samghabara went to China in the 5th century to translate buddhist sutras from sanskirt to chinese. Edvident that buddhism been in cambodia since then not to mention the Dvarati buddhist mon kingdom. Many Khmer kings were hindu, most famous Suryvarman II building Angkor Wat. Jayavarman VII 12th century and Suyavarman I 11th century were mahayanna buddhist. Suryavarman I was also tolerant of theravada buddhist. Jayavarman VII was a devoted buddhist in the 12th century going back to Angkor destroying the chams out after they had taken Angkor. Jayavarman VII annexed the chams capital and controlled Champa till his death. When Chenla was divided Jayavarman II 9th century united the local overlords who rule different part of Cambodia forming the Khmer empire. He'd rule the Khmer empire as Davaraja(God King). Tai were refugees from southern China who later got sukhothai it's independence from the Khmer empire 13th century after a revolt. siem sacked Angkor when the empire was in a declined, stole , destroyed statues and took some Khmer scholar artists, dancers etc.. to culturally appropriate. Khmers had to move south to longvek and established the new capital
