Take off the siding run the underlayment up the wall, install the sidewall flashing, backstrip with 6” strips of underlayment, then install siding back over it. Counter flashing defeats the point of a concealed fastener roof system and doesn’t look as clean.
I'm no expert, but this seems awfully complicated. Is there no way to fabricate your panels such that the panel adjacent to the sidewall is either wide enough or breaks at a point where it can run up under the siding?
Why can't you just bend your roof panel up 4 to 6" instead of 1" and skip the Z closure and all those screws which will not let your panel expand and contract? and just put counter flashing over the and turned up flashing.
I'm a contractor that has never installed staying seem in house. I'm just looking at this because I meet to do about 20 feet of end-wall on a job. Why Why Why Why isn't the sidewall flashing piece bent so that it has the same termination as the counterflashing???????????? He'll it should be am option tho get a counterflashing with a leg that attaches to the Z flashing attached to the roof. Why the two pieces.??????
Thank you, good work
So I assume this is going on a finished wall?
Thanks guys. About to do my roof and it all helps.
Good luck with your project! -Thad
How would you make this work with lap siding? Thanks
