If your on Medicaid you don't need more kids. If you can't afford it then you don't need kids. I'm dealing sorry this right now but I'm not on Medicaid. I had my last one paying several thousands in treatments, but I'm assistance and am on no type of assistance.

Why should anyone expect that Medicaid should pay for IVF? Your on government assistance because you can’t work to get medical care through an employer… so, tax payers should be responsible for paying for you to conceive through this expensive method? Huh?

That’s a misconception that folks on Medicaid don’t work 😂 during the pandemic millions of Americans were on Medicaid because everyone qualified if they were on unemployment. Also not sure if you knew but 70% of insurances through employers don’t included IVF coverage.

I'd argue the fact that Medicaid COVERS your mistake when you had the RESPONSIBILITY to use protection is just as puzzling, we'll help you cover up your mistake but we won't help you try and concieve, responsiblty. Respectfully, a tax payer who wonders why I have to pay for people's mistakes lol.

Many of the children in foster care have areas of trauma even in their short lives, do you guys think that everyone with infertility is capable of working though another person's childs trauma that is mostly unknown to them? That's not fair to the child or the person thats being claimed should foster or adopt. You are also opening yourself up to constant home checks, background checks, additional therapy/ reunification therapy with their parents, the chance that you will get very attached and find a child that fits perfectly in your home just to have them returned to the situation at their real parents home and having to mourn that loss and just open your arms to another child after that.
There's way more into it than most people think about. In fact many going through infertility that are at the point of IVF have suffered at least one miscarriage, do you think that all of those that have lost a child would be emotionally ready to go through the trauma of having a child put into their lives and then taken from them over and over again as is the cycle of foster care?
The point of foster care in many peoples mind is to be a temporary housing until the home they grew up in has gone through extensive changes to be safer and a better fit for them, not so they could all be taken forever and just rehomed like lost pets. (Obviously it not saying thats always the case as there are a good number of families that will never be reunified for various reasons regurding the childs safety)
I do feel insurance should cover IVF but I 100% agree that it is no where near medicaids responsibility to cover IVF, if you can't hold down a job with isurance or can't manage paying for private insurance than you shouldnt be thinking about having a child.

The “is it safe” felt to me as if the reporter thinks any healthcare outside of the United States is not safe 🙄🙄
Plenty of people in countries outside of the United States have “free healthcare” so IVF isn’t even a topic.
Do you think all the people on the planet who live outside of the United States are not receiving “safe” healthcare 🙄. Some communities do not have access to adequate healthcare but to think that entire countries outside of the United States do not have “safe” healthcare is ludicrous

Something isn’t right about the mother. I’m glad she is employed. Infertility is not a disease! Some people are infertile as a result of intentional decisions. For example, if a male had a vasectomy for a long time then had a reversal it can take years for his body to readjust. The same applies to a woman. Some people elect to have a hysterectomy. The WHO ought to reclassify infertility in a manner that acknowledges the difference between degradation due to outside factors beyond an individual’s control and those due to an intentional act.
