Quick Heads Up: I was sick while recording most of this so sorry if my voice sounds strange through any of it. Also please keep in mind that my opinion is just that, an opinion. The hard part of talking about media like Omori is that it unavoidably can be interpreted a variety of ways. My opinion on the game is in no way meant to be disrespectful, and I hope no one takes it as such. I wanted to share my opinion because I haven't seen other's really talk about being disappointed by the part of the game I took issue with and I feel like others may share my complaints. If you disagree with what I said, feel free to explain why in the comments, and I'll do my best to understand, but try to be respectful about it. Thanks!

I played Omori just under 2 months after it released because I thought it looked like a cute little RPG that might delve into some heavier topics, what I got was an unforgettable experience.
Omori is such a unique game, I was hesitant to even play the game because it was a turn based RPG but it still seemed interesting enough for me to play and I'm so glad I did.
I ended up beating the game in 3 days because of how much I liked it and the ending was something I wasn't quite ready for. I agree with your points that the twist could not have happened and it would still have been a strong ending with a deep message. However, I think that the way that the actual twist was presented with a lot of foreshadowing done troughout the game, that it just feels right. So many questions got an answer, an answer that we absolutely hate, an answer that Sunny and Omori tried to absolutely block out of their mind, pretending that "everything is going to be okay."
No matter what others say of the ending, I was satisfied with it and Omori is a game that, even after over 2 years of beating it, I still think about it every now and then. Listening back to the soundtrack with this new context gives it such a different vibe and I love how it does that. "It means everything" and "By your side" are probably my favorite songs of the soundtrack for that reason alone, they hit so much harder after having beaten the game.
Great video by the way, really enjoyed the way you edited it and how you thematically changed the background similiar to how Headspace and the Real world have such different vibes!

Thanks so much for the kind words. I definitely get what you mean about the twist being earned, as I said in the video I think no matter how I personally may have been iffy on it, it's still one of the best twists I've seen in media. I just think I resonate more with the message before the twist than after, which is completely just a me thing. I'm really glad you enjoyed the game as much as you did and I relate to a lot of your experiences picking it up. Thanks for stopping by!

I'm glad you liked the game too! I played this game on my PC so I didn't get to see much of the secret bosses, but I may check it out when I get a chance.

Warning! Spoilers ahead for someone who didnt play the game!
omg i resonate so much with your opinion on omori's ending. i love this game, but i too wish it didnt go for the twist the way it did. to add to what was said in the video, i also was initially very surprised with how the game portrayed the depression and trauma processing by sunny, cuz usually we see this kind of escaping reality by someone who "did something very bad" in media. and sunny was just a boy who lost his sister, i thought. and.. in the end there was more to it which also kinda ruined it. love the game anyways, it did a great job with so many things. great video also

I'm so glad you could relate to what I was saying. I went back and forth on even posting this video since I thought it may be too controversial but I'm glad there are people out there who feel the same as I do. Thanks for stopping by!
