Great video. I had complex MAF problems in my 159 2.0 JDTM. Car has no power below 2k revs. Unplugging the MAF restores the power to near to normal (previous) performance. But of course the Check Engine Light comes on. Bought a new Bosch MAF; did'n fix the problem. Bought a new MAF plug (car side) as the original was damaged. Didn't fix the problem. I suspect I have a broken wire, far downstream from the MAF plug. I changed the MAP sensor (mainly just because they're cheap) and still didn't fix the problem. Anyway, I read of others with this problem and some people claimed you can "deactivate the MAF" in Multiecuscan, so that the car uses the MAP and O2 sensors only, and people reported their cars running much better. I investigated with MES and found (like you did) it is really just a diagnostic software and had absolutely no options for "deactivating the MAF", nor the EGR nor anything else! People rave about all the tweaks they made with MES but I've found most are absolute BS.... MES is just like a diagnostic scanner. Great for advanced DTCs and diagnostics but absolutely nothing else! Please I didn't waste £125 foe MES and all the coloured interfaces.

    Hi Tony,
Thank you for your informative videos.
If you have an opportunity can you please do one showing how to remove and install new or reconditioned turbo charger for the Giluietta QV.
    Thank you!

Hi Tony. What kit are you using for the connection? I have a KL connector (USB to port) and it doesn't work

Hi. There should be a link in the description below the video. It’s a cable set from EBay.
Hope that helps. All the best 👍

I have a 1.4 distinctive and it's rather bad with fuel consumption (10.2l/100km) just want to know if there's someone in the community that this might be a normal consumption for such a small engine or what might be wrong with the car?
I don't drive with a heavy foot especially because of the poor fuel stats so it isn't me that's a issue.
    Thanks in advance

Hi Michael. It doesn’t sound good. You should get better than that. I would recommend getting any fault codes read first, as it could be a faulty MAF, MAP or Lambda sensor that’s causing this. Start there and see what you get.
Hope that helps. All the best 👍

Hi guys, My wife has a FIAT 500X 2.0 multijet engine Diesel. ACT gear box 4 whell drive.
Consumption when we tried it was 7.0l. Now after having bought it and a "refresh" of ECU from FIAT, consumption is 10.5l.
I reckon it has been reprog beacuse of the fact of the diesel gate... so now consumption is F... increased. I think EGR is the main thing!!!
I want to get ride of this F things !! this 2.0l is supposed to do 7l no more..
      Consumption is higher than X3 3.5D !!
      it s a scam !!

I got an 2010 Giulietta 1.6 and i have a really annoying problem with my old DPF, do u have some tricks with that, my engine is in a block state bcs of that :(

    • @vialettotony
      @vialettotony  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Ciao Francesco. I know it’s possible to force a DPF regen with the Multiecuscan diagnostic software, but it will only do it if it’s not blocked. They can be replaced, if that’s the only problem.
I’ll see if I can make a video for it.
      All the best 👍

I assume that he removed it just to get a slight horse power increase. Some other users are removing the DPF filter as well but in my honest opinion not only it doesn't worth it but also it's totally harmful for the rest of us who would breath this kind of "cancer".
When I bought my own Giulietta 1.6, 105 HP, I had in mind the fuel economy and the reliability that this motor offered. If my main goal would be to have a fast car I would have certainly bought the multiair version. So if speed is what you seek just avoid diesels

Hi Spartan19891. Good to hear from you again. He noted that his garage did it for no apparent reason, so i'd be changing my garage. Absolutely agree about the power benefit and would recommend the JTDm 170 in a heartbeat. Thank for watching and commenting, always really appreciate it. All the best 👍

@@vialettotony the past 6 months fuel prices have skyrocketed and with the actions of our dear "Vlady boy" I don't see them to drop in the near future so having a diesel right now it's a dood choice. In 2013-2014 fuel prices were in a similar level so that's why I chose a diesel Alfa. Sadly in Greece if you have a motor that it's over 2 liters you will have to pay an additional luxury tax besides road taxes so that's why your motor is not that popular here. It's not that the tax it's unaffordable, it's just that we consider it as a theft from the state so go figure

People dont just delete DPF to get better horsepower, i agree that if we remove its harmfull for others but dpf is only obstructing airflow in my cars i delete dpf simply because i was only having problems with mine obstructing and not doing regeneration and here in portugal dpf is like 1k to put one new so in my opinion i just remove it better airflow and dosnt give me problems. And i also dont agree with if you seek speed avoid diesels ii got 2.0 170 nice speed and nice consumption. This is my opinion

@@M1n1gamer if the manufacturer would believe that the DPF filter would affect the performance in a negative way it wouldn't have it in the first place. The DPF filter is essentially your catalyst and without it your G is literally emitting so much carbon that it's harmful for anyone how has the luck to breathe it. So if you'd like my opinion I would pay those 1k euros to replace my filter, firstly because you wouldn't pass the inspection and secondly because it's harmful even for yourself.
Diesels in general are made for long distances and not for performance, and even though the 2 liter version of yours does provide performance it can not be compared with the QV version for example. And as I mentioned there are other factors to consider in that such as road taxes. In Greece the simple multiair 1.4 with 170 HP has 160€ whilst yours would have around 380€ (luxury tax included). I don't want to sound disrespectful to your opinion but I was never a big fan of diesel engines. I like their torque and low consumption but let's face it they need special treatment in order to avoid issues such as yours
