Why can't motorcycles come with comfortable saddles? In this video I successfully modify the Harley Davidson Pan America saddle. music courtesy of bensound.com
I have a Pan America Special and am having the same struggles. Trying a Sargent Seat now and its still not 100%. Can you talk about those sheep skins? I see you have multiple. What happens to them in the rain?
I really like the Alaska Leathers sheepskins. Quality stuff. I purchased them from Amazon. The one you see on both bikes is the Alaska Leather Medium Sheepskin Buttpad®. I think I said they cost $50 but actually I see them on Amazon now for $69.99. Well worth it. I just finished a three day, 1,000 mile trip to the Cherohala Skyway and back. Parked the bike outside overnight. In the mornings there was some condensation on the metal but a quick brush with my hand took any remaining water off of the sheepskin. Thanks for sharing that the Sargent seat does not solve all the problems--I think you just saved me several hundred dollars! I'm having good results using packing material foam under the sheepskin, held in place with a few velcro tabs. My butt didn't hurt at all on the 1,000 mile trip.
You'll remember how bad the Kawasaki Versys X300 seat was. I'm still suffering with mine. I agree with you on this topic big time.
