Thank you so much for saying that. To say I had fun was an understatement. My goal is to do that monthly with different people. Please make sure you watch Monkeys stream after it was great.
Just bought a Mustang super deluxe heated touring seat on my 2020 RGS about 500 miles ago and have to say it’s the best seat I’ve ever owned. I had bought two other after market seats for this bike, the Ciro ASR seat which was problematic from the start and remained so even after over 1500 miles, and the saddleman Road Sofa which should really be named the Road Bench because after 7,000 miles it is as hard as it was the day I bought it. Neither of these seats was IMHO comfortable enough for long rides but the Mustang on the other hand was great from the moment I sat on it. If there was a break-in period it wasn’t more than 100 miles. I had mustang seats on two other bikes years ago and should have known better than to waste money on the other two but, live and learn I guess. Actually I bought them more for their looks than anything’s else. I am 6’ tall with a 32” inseam and the mustang seat not only puts me a little over 1-1/2” farther back than stock but is still low enough to flat foot with plenty of bend in my knees. You did a good job on your review…thanks.
LOL. I also have the Road Bench on my 2021 Ultra, and I have just 8000 miles on the seat, and it really is a miserable seat, hard as a rock. I did a 380 mile ride today and had to stop 3 times to get feeling back in my ass! And I thought I was the only one that thought of it as a concrete park bench!
Well thank you for the review especially when I have been looking at a road sofa seat for my 2020 road glide limited; I've been stuck on whether it be worth to send it put and have a custom one made with gel inserts or just buy a new seat wither that was the hammock, road sofa or a mustang seat so thank you
I have owned a few different seats, put them through their paces, all of them big name brands and have found that I might as well be sitting on a park bench. Super uncomfortable on long trips. And I was patient with them, putting in the necessary miles to break them in to no avail. So I ended up with the Mustang super touring and have been very pleased with its performance. Plus when riding 2up my passenger says it's night n day way better than the others. So needless to say, I'm very happy with my Mustang. Made it more tolerable when I went to Sturgis an back. Great review video. Enjoy!
In May of 2021 I got a used 2014 Street Glide. First thing I did was get the heated Mustang Deluxe touring seat. Best seat I’ve had, barely any break in period and quality is top notch! Hope to have it for a very long time. 😀
This is one seat that really has my interest. I put a "tall boy" seat on my 2020 Electra Glide to move me back. I appreciate your review. Be well my friend.
My 2007 vtx1300r-- it came with a factory seat by Mustang,,very comfortable to this day.((After seeing your video,,,my 2019 roadking factory seat is not too bad ,but 1.5 inches back "would make my world mo-better!",I'm 6'--,,I like long hauls ,only stop for gas kinda ride.,,lol.,,,I will be checking out Mustang ,thanks for sharing.
I bought mine last year for the limited, but I'm only 5'8 with 30inch inseam. When I used it I had to roll forward to put my feet down, so I went back to the HD hammock. But I just bought a 2021 Tri-glide and got it home and first thing I did was install the Mustang seat. I maybe short, but I wanted the room that HD and other seats don't provide.
Well, I just bought that same seat today at JP cycles in Daytona with the backrest and they torn pack back rest and I hope everything you said about that seat was accurate because I spent a lot of money today
I bought the same seat last year and road Maryland to Texas and back to Maryland. This seat was hard and uncomfortable after 3600 miles as it was in the beginning. I had a regular Mustang seat on my 2007 Street Glide of which was very comfortable.
I just got the Mustang Super Touring Deluxe 79006SB with the blue stitching. It's on my 2019 Ultra Limited, and looks great! Now I have to wear it in :)

i have their standard touring seat, love it, combined with the harley adjustable backrest i can ride all day with only minor discomfort, but that happens any time im sitting too long so no fault of the seat
Just got mine last week. 6 month wait, still waiting on the backrest. Rode the dealers Demo seat for 6 months! LOL. Ordered Deluxe for the stitching. Really finishes the bike. Thanks for the Video.
I just subscribed to your channel and love the video. My research was on backrests mainly and what I am looking for is a backrest that tilts forward so the passenger can comfortable climb on. Does the Mustang backrest tild forward enough? I thought it did at one point in your video. Thanks. Look forward to watching your other videos.
Thanks for the review.I sit pretty well on my stock 2019 ultra limited but after a 2500 mile trip i believe this mustang would be better.I'm 6'1, 200 lbs, and 34 inseam. Would i still set well with my stock handlebars and this seat. Maybe more relief in the groin area. thanks
Great video! Thanks for sharing. Question, with me riding 2 up with wife, will she (my wife) loose 2” when she is riding since that seat puts myself back 2”? On Saddlemen seats with rider backrest my passenger looses 1.5” and with my wife, that will not be comfy. Any answers appreciated.
My wife did lose some room in the passenger seat but she likes that she is more locked in if that makes sense. I know every one is different as far a fit. You can adjust the tour pack back an inch or so and that can help make up for the room you lose on the seat.
Thanks Bry for this video, I have a Trike 2021 I am a new rider with only a little over 5000 miles under my belt. But I am looking to up grade my Harley seat. I have looked at the tallboy, and the mustang deluxe touring seat, the price difference is only $200. So it help to have you help me with this.
Thank you for this great informative review. I'm on a 14 UL with a Tallboy, much like the Hammock & the backrest pushes me to far forward, so I have no support. Right now I am torn between the Mustang, Daddy Long Legs and Ultimate Seat. I am sure you did your homework on the seats I mentioned. What made you choose the Mustang over all the rest? Do you have lower back support for local riding without using the rider backrest?
I really like the brand and how they are made. The seat has a VERY high end look to it. YOu do have some support without the rider back rest but it's no where as good for long days.
Nice review. First time I have seen a Mustang seat and it looks very nice. If purchasing a seat for a touring bike my question would be if I took off on a 500 mile trip which would feel better on me at the end of the trip, the Mustang or a Saddleman Road Sofa. Thanks for the info.
Thanks for the review. Been looking at seat and will probably go with the mustang standard. I like the stock seating position so don't want it to change. My one concern is on the standard model the passenger section is 2" narrower than on the stock seat and I don't want the Mrs to be uncomfortable. I guess my only option is to purchase one and try it.
So far my wife’s not had an issue with that. If your not sure I would order from Amazon and you can return it if your unhappy with it. Just double check it list it as being eligible for return. Please let me know if you do they it what you think. Thanks for watching!
@@BryTheBiker good tip on Amazon! Didn't even think about that. I'm pretty sure on the deluxe model like you have the passenger section is still 16" wide like stock but on the standard mustang it's only 14" wide. I'll definitely check them on Amazon though. Thanks👍
Production Touring seats don’t work because they’re built based on averages and generalities. If you want long-distance comfort you get yourself a Fitted Leather Touring seat. And you have it built by a brand that actually understands Ergonomics. Call Voodoo Saddles and Design a Touring Seat that’s made for YOU, the 5 year warranty makes it hard to beat. The musical chairs routine of buying “one size fits none” Touring seats has gone on for far too long. Almost every Harley Touring owner we all know has 5 seats hanging in the garage because they don’t work.
Love the seat have a mustang touring seat on my sportster love it looking to up grade to the mustang deluxe for my ultra limited I’m a short dude so they don’t offer deluxe in standard or reduced reach already conversed with mustang thought of the Harley hammock but the mustang looks so much more comfortable and after what you said about the Harley Hammock it’s definitely a no go I’ll keep looking haven’t tried saddle-man but I think there the ones who make the Hammock but I could be wrong great video enjoy the ride man
Thanks for watching! Yes it is a bit odd they don’t make the deluxe in other “sizes” it looks so good vs the plain seat. Please let me know how you make out with your seat search
Great video, thank you! I am also replacing a hammock seat and after watching your video I went right over to Mustang and placed the order. Expensive, yes. But so are the big touring seats from Harley and those aren’t made in the USA. How difficult was it to remove the Harley adjustable backrest plate from the motorcycle to make the Mustang seat fit?
@@BryTheBiker Hey man, been a while. Finally got the seat on there, you were right just 4 bolts and I had that plate off. Seat installed easily, like most seats…man I love it, looks great feels great, sits me a little higher which I thought was weird but definitely much more back, a lot more room now. Been freezing snowing crappy cold out here in MD so I haven’t had enough time to really put down some serious miles but so far so good. Thanks for the great video, 14k miles in that hammock seat and that last 4K were hard, this will be a great help.
I had that seat, didn’t like how it sat me up one inch taller plus how I couldn’t just ‘slide’ across onto the seat (type material they use). I felt the passenger portion was shaped wrong - convex instead of concave to cup ones rear end. Otherwise, it was a very nice looking seat, as you mentioned very well made… but I sold it when I finally found the seat that fit me perfectly (a heated Corbin).
@@BryTheBiker I love the heated seat!!! Sorry for late reply but only saw your question when second person replied to my comment. Heat is not instantaneously felt. Slowly warms in my opinion to a perfect temperature.
@@tedkippers7591 actually the Mustang seat I had was firm, just a 1” taller-sitting firm. I absolutely hated the passenger portion of the Mustang seat, it was not properly formed to fit a passenger comfortably as was convex in shape. Yes, a Corbin is very firm (like a fine horse saddle) but I have found thru the years owning it, I can ride more comfortably without fatiguing for a lot more miles as both rider & passenger (& I have a bad lower back). Can’t say the same about the CVO seat on our other bike. 25 miles was all I could handle as a passenger on the Mustang I ended up selling. I questioned a lot of people about Corbin before purchasing from them, and after all the positive replies I decided to go with Corbin.
Just picked up a 05 ultra classic n thinking of getting this seat. Hearing it sets you back farther is a good thing. I'm specifically looking for seats that'll set me back as far as I can. If anyone has any other suggestions I'm all ears.
just watched the video, excellent product review Brian, my question is how tall are you, i have an 08 FLHTC and i have extended the foot controls to work with the stock seat and my 35 inch inseam, by moving back almost 2 inches may cause me to have to change the foot controls again. thanks
If the seat sits the rider back farther I’m assuming the passenger has less room as well ? Any reviews on the passenger seat part or back rest ? Looking to upgrade the whole seat and backrest was told road zeplin is good too ? Appreciate any help
I need to do a back seat review for sure. I think the back seats about a 1 1/2 or a bit more shorter. My wife likes that as she feels more locked in. And the Mustang backrest on the tourpack leans her back a bit more so it’s more comfortable for her
Hoy mate, Excellent video, im looking for a new seat for my 2005 Electra Glide, (it's new to me and in terriffic shape.) The seat is very uncomfortable after 150 miles. I will make contact with Mustang seats. Thank you, new subscriber.
Do you feel like you sit higher in the saddle than a stock seat. Being taller I like that it gives you more leg room. Problem with my stock seat is that my knees are higher than my hips which is uncomfortable, especially when shifting or braking.
Could you please let me know the distance from the back of the backrest to the front of the passenger backrest? I currently have the Harley Sundowner on my 2021 Road Glide Special w/Hogworkz king tour pack. I have about 14” now and don’t want to take any of my wife’s room.
Hey Bry...great video and can't wait to see what your next ride is. But, I got this seat and have about 300 miles on it. I love just about everything - the look, the workmanship, the extended reach and the height. BUT, while being 6'2 and 270-ish, I also suffer from noassatol -- so it seems very firm to me. Was there a break-in period with yours? I don't want squishy, but need it to be comfortable for me. Just figured I'd get your 2-cents before I send it back.
YES, it was very firm when I got it. It's my understanding if the seat feels good new it most likely won't last. This is what happen to us when we got that hammock.
Bry, I currently have the hammock seat and have been looking for an alternative. If this seat moves you back a little bit, does it also make the passenger seating area a little smaller?
This seat is very stiff. If your a heavier guy it may work well. Im 6'3" and 200lbs. I've sat on this seat for thousands of miles. It does not mold to you. Hot spots are right under your junk and where you sit on that beautiful stitching under the thigh. 100 miles top before I need a break. My ass hurts for a couple of days after a long trip. Very nice and looks good. But am going to change it out so I can ride further. I

Question what height are you . Wouldn’t want to buy this seat and not be able to reach the back of the seat. Have been looking at this seat for a while. ,
So I am 5’9 30 inch inseam or so, in your opinion would say this seat would sit to far back for my height. Have a Mustang for my Heritage and like the seat but ofcourse this one would go on my 18 Limited.
Iv had 2 Mustang seats, the first one was great, the second one not so much, the seat is 2 years old and is wearing out, the material is very thin, I’ll not purchase another one for sure
Got myself a Mustang seat for a Valkyrie 1500. I must say, for a Valkyrie 1500, such Seat is just one big disappointment. It sits one inch higher then stock, tilted backwards too far, has a rounded feel to it. (feels like a upholstered piece of trunk) Talking bucket seat, this feels like an upside down bucket. Worse even, in the back, against the backrest, the foam is softer, so sitting against the back, it feels your bum is rolling backwards of the seat all the time. Then the seams. Seams run on the edge of the seat, exactly there where your legs are resting onto the seat. Since the seams run on top of the cover, this starts to hurt on long trips, especially due to the seat tilting backwards and being higher too, meaning there is quite some pressure between leg and seat, exactly there where the seam is. Since I did purchase from a sell out, it was a "take it as it is" kind of thing. Well, in the meantime, I have taken out the foam, and redone it myself. That was not so easy, since the pan does have a difficult form to work with, complete flat, tilting backwards like crazy. I got it acceptable now, but man, never a Mustang again.
They're nice seats but 2000 miles. Really? It's brand new. The backrest bracket had no markings or scratches from the movement of riding. Someone got paid or got a free seat for this review.
I should've got this seat for my goldwing. Instead I got the Corbin seat. The seat is firm but only ok. It is the back rest that RUINS the entire experience. The backrest does not even align and its even slightly crooked. The back rest has a poor design also. Made well but poorly designed and is only meant for bar hopping. they have many kinds but I just needed something something small. They had two doughnut shaped backrests. I thought that I didn't need the big so I ordered the small one. Here's the thing. They have a large on and a small one so when they made the small one they didn't bother to change the radius of the bend so it will at least fit your back. They did not! So now the backrest corners poke me in the back the entire time I'm riding and there is no escaping it. There absolutely is no relief fro the back rest and its exactly what you say. Its the worst $330 I have ever spent in my life. AND ADD TO THAT, Corbin holds the keys to adjust your back rest further up. It works on a screw. Different size screws adjust the back rest. I spent $1400 on that seat and you would think I would be able to adjust it. Nope! Can only adjust it so far. Corbin charges $20 extra to get a longer screw! You would've thought as much as my seat cost I would have gotten one for free!
@@BryTheBiker Yes definitely. What makes it worse is an arrogant attitude of their product. When my seat was brand new I tried to return the backrest and I told them it was a bad design. Good workmanship but bad design. I was told to sell it. "Every one knows how much they are worth. You shouldn't have a problem!". The way I see it, Tekata air bags caused a lot of people discomfort too. Look what happened to them!
By the way, You guys made me cry last night. The biker community is amazing. Great chat with the boys. Love you channel.

I'm not sure about Saddleman as I have never tried one. I can say this seat took about 500 to 1000 miles to break in.
I’m buying this to replace my saddleman. Hope that tells you something.
@@ThiccAmishMedia I tried the Roadsofa but went with Mustang as well so with it.
Thanks, very informative!
Glad it was helpful!
As far as a full touring seat I had 2 and this one is keep for me!
Will do even looked at the custom seat site and it unavailable right now since the demand is so high for what they already make
@@jonathantackett1901 ughhhhh
Great video, thank you! I am also replacing a hammock seat and after watching your video I went right over to Mustang and placed the order. Expensive, yes. But so are the big touring seats from Harley and those aren’t made in the USA. How difficult was it to remove the Harley adjustable backrest plate from the motorcycle to make the Mustang seat fit?
Not hard I want to say it's 4 bolts. The Mustang one is so much better! Let me know how you like it when it arrives.
@@sgtobnoxious3484 glad it’s working out so far. Home you can get out soon and really break it in.
How do you find the heated seat? I was looking at them but never had a chance to try one.
If you like Corbin, you won't like Mustang. To me a Corbin is way to firm, but some people like that
@@BryTheBiker I love the heated seat!!!
@@TheLadyDonnaL Nice, I need to check that out then thanks!
Just picked up a 05 ultra classic n thinking of getting this seat. Hearing it sets you back farther is a good thing. I'm specifically looking for seats that'll set me back as far as I can. If anyone has any other suggestions I'm all ears.
I love it sets me back and off the tank
just watched the video, excellent product review Brian, my question is how tall are you, i have an 08 FLHTC and i have extended the foot controls to work with the stock seat and my 35 inch inseam, by moving back almost 2 inches may cause me to have to change the foot controls again. thanks
I have a 32 inch inseam so I had to roll my bars back some. That said I think the seats so worth it.
@@BryTheBiker thank you, do you find the nose of it a little wide or is it the same as a stock harley seat
@@HogheadBill it’s doesn’t have as much of a tune up Adam the HD seat so your parts don’t get crushed :-)
How do you think this will look on my street glide? I might not have it on all the time but we want a more comfortable seat for longer rides.
I think it will look fine and I think you will love it.
@@BryTheBiker i’m worried about it fitting between my passenger back rest. What is the width on the passenger seat?
Great job on the seat review!
Thanks it’s a fantastic upgrade.
I've been considering this exact seat. Great review!!
Thanks. I am really happy with the seat, and love this look vs a plain seat.
It's definitely a good looking seat!!
Thank you, new subscriber.

do you have a link for your bar and cable kit setup? i have a electra glide looking to do something similar thanks
The bars are from Fatbagger inc fatbaggers.com/
Do you need the mount on your rear fender for the rider back rest or will the mount I have on the hammock seat be in the way?
You would need to remove the HD. The Mustang one is built in it’s nice.
just got this seat. it raised me up about an inch. will it flatten over time and by how much ?
Mine has flatten some but I am not sure how much as far as a measurement. But it fits so good once it breaks in.
Do you feel like you sit higher in the saddle than a stock seat. Being taller I like that it gives you more leg room. Problem with my stock seat is that my knees are higher than my hips which is uncomfortable, especially when shifting or braking.
It feels a bit higer but I am also sitting back more so it more leg room.
Could you please let me know the distance from the back of the backrest to the front of the passenger backrest? I currently have the Harley Sundowner on my 2021 Road Glide Special w/Hogworkz king tour pack. I have about 14” now and don’t want to take any of my wife’s room.
Sure thing. I can measure it for you tomorrow. I have my tour pack adjusted all the way back which gives you an extra inch or so.
Just saw the comment feed regarding break-in -- so 1000 miles - got it. My question is, Did you find the seat very firm prior to that?
YES, it was very firm when I got it. It's my understanding if the seat feels good new it most likely won't last. This is what happen to us when we got that hammock.
Is the stitching uncomfortable to sit on? I've heard the Saddle Man Road Sofa stitching can do that
No, I've had zero issues as far as comfort I like the seat alot
How's the seat treating you now? it's been 7 months since this video. I'm looking to upgrade my seat on my 13 FLTRU
I am still loving it. I have had zero issues with it and it has broken in really nice.

Bry, I currently have the hammock seat and have been looking for an alternative. If this seat moves you back a little bit, does it also make the passenger seating area a little smaller?
A bit but we moved the tour pack all the way back and she been fine.
I have this seat it’s great. The rider backrest is angled on the sides so she will have more room for her legs to rest naturally

Got myself a Mustang seat for a Valkyrie 1500.
I must say, for a Valkyrie 1500, such Seat is just one big disappointment.
It sits one inch higher then stock, tilted backwards too far, has a rounded feel to it. (feels like a upholstered piece of trunk)
Talking bucket seat, this feels like an upside down bucket.
I got it acceptable now, but man, never a Mustang again.
man sounds like that was not a good fit for you at all
its still dripping...
??
How tall are you?
6’1 ish
They're nice seats but 2000 miles. Really? It's brand new. The backrest bracket had no markings or scratches from the movement of riding. Someone got paid or got a free seat for this review.
Nope paid for it myself. I am very happy with it. Thanks for watching.
Man that sucks! I have heard so many great things about their seats. A good backrest is key.
@@BryTheBiker
Yes definitely.
