    • @joemann7971
      @joemann7971 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      The Vulcan S is somewhat slow compared to these bikes, but incredibly fun to take around corners. #1 rule of cruisers is that you're not allowed to have fun cornering. You should know that. If you're having fun cornering, you're doing something wrong.
      Edit: I'm being sarcastic BTW.

      It doesn’t really match up in this comparison with that small displacement 649cc out of the somewhat uninspired ninja 650, I’m sure it can handle well and is somewhat quick compared to something else but wouldn’t hang with any of the performers in this bunch.

    My biggest gripe with some of these cruisers is that they only have 1 person seats, while I expect to only ride with a pillion maybe once in a blue moon, I'd rather have a cruiser capable of carrying 2 than not

    • @ZildjianMan30
      @ZildjianMan30 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Every single cruiser can carry a passenger. Buy a new seat. The thing about cruisers is they are typically the middleweight bike, meant for solo riding. There's a reason why baggers and big touring bikes typically DO come with passenger seats. And you said it yourself in regards to having a passenger on a cruiser - "maybe once in a blue moon."

    At the age of 61, I've been through my superbike years and bought a Street Scrambler last year. I totally agree it is an alternative cruiser. Pliant suspension, all day comfort, and a torquey engine that has you blasting away from the lights, then settling down to enjoy the ride. I find there's 2 schools of thought on the Street Scrambler: those who dismiss it on the specs, and those who've actually ridden one.

    Sport biker here, and retired racer. I love the fact that the whole video showed the new 'Wing as background. It's a tourer, a cruiser, an overweight sport bike, and a super sleeper... the best overall motorcycle ever. Can't wait for the 50th anniversary edition.

      Gratz! I agree, now's a much better time for riding. Took the course back in the '80's but never got my license. Last spring I went through it again and am anxiously waiting for spring to get the bikes out of the shed. I played it safe and picked up a Rebel 250 early on and then a new Rebel 500 not long after. Seeing the 1100 at the top of the list really makes me want to get out there again.

    Huge fanboy of the Yamaha VMAX 1700! I would also like to add that the price of the motorcycle may seem like a lot at first. But it easily pays for itself over time. The reliability is superb, the shaft drive means no need to lube up chains and replace them, and the valve check period is something like 26k miles. I couldn't think of a better muscle cruiser to buy that I would use as a daily rider.

    I always enjoy how this channel fails to understand cruisers. It’s about comfort and style more than 10 second quarter miles. If it’s smooth, stable, torquey, low maintenance and shiny it’s probably got most of what it needs. Tech and gizmo gimmicks not needed.

    • @ZildjianMan30
      @ZildjianMan30 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Exactly! Then again I don't watch Yam/Spite videos for cruiser logic lol. They have none, and that's just fine. • @ZildjianMan30
      @ZildjianMan30 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are correct, but good luck getting replacement parts. And good luck trying to replace aftermarket parts (put on by previous ownerships) with OEM or other aftermarket parts. Polaris warehouses are hit or miss on parts and they take no returns. ALL sales are final. Aftermarket dealers are okay and sometimes you just have to wait for someone else to wreck their Victory before you can find the part you need. It helps to know a good fabricator and to know your way around a hardware store. The older the bike, the harder it is. I'm a Victory owner, and this is my story.
      By the way, I love Victory bikes! ✌️

    The Diavel is not really the Ducati cruiser. The correct bike would be the XDiavel, with actual forward foot pegs. Also, that photo you showed of the two brothers, one on the Rocket and one on the Diavel, finished with the Diavel beating the Rocket.

    • @chirag4
      @chirag4 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes, Diavel beats the Rocket in that video, .... and probably in a longer / quarter-mile / full-mile race, rocket would take the lead, but for short bursts, Diavel wins everytime, not by a big margin though. Also, i sat on both, Rocket GT & X-Diavel, ducati's seat is more comfortable, & it's 60-70 kg. lighter, although displacement is only 50% of Triumph.

    I'm laughing now. I own the Triumph America/Speedmaster 865 2014. I also own the Sportster S and have put 500 miles on it in a week. I did look at both the Rebel and Scout (actually I was about two days from buying the Rebel when Harley announced the Sportster S). So 4/7 from the list, all from the top 4. The Scout has a modern engine and ABS, that is it. The Triumph has an older engine with ABS and is heavy as hell (I know because I have one). The Rebel has a really good package if you want a great value bike (traction control, cruise control, rider modes) but lacks personalisation. So I went for the Sportster S, I had the money but it is a toy at that price and if you are trying to save money on a toy... don't have children. If you are buying a bike to commute for great value, get a 250-400cc. On the other hand, if you are riding highways to commute I fully recommend the Triumph 865cc 2014, great bike for that.

      It's a machine... SO what's wrong with 30 years old???
      Keep it up so long as that's a reasonable series of chores to do. The only time you should start sweating something mechanical for its age is when the parts sources and "consumables" dry up, turning an ordinary maintenance task into a week-long clusterf***...
      In years (or even decades) down the road, that age you're sweating is going to turn into dollar-signs. Someone with a nostalgic LOVE of this or that bike "Because my daddy had one just like that." is going to offer you more money than you'll know to ask... THAT is worth the wait, and in the meantime, if you want to play with something newer, there's no harm in getting a second bike like Phil's suggesting... ;o)
