As a follow up to my previous suggestion with regards to welding a T piece (with U bolt) or an exhaust clamp to the top of the upright. To avoid any welding or if you don't like the idea of having a T piece welded to the top of the upright, you could drill a couple of horizontal holes and use a U bolt to clamp the aluminium tubing to the side of the upright.
Weld a bit of flat bar to the top of the upright to form a T piece and clamp the aluminium tubing to the upright with a U bolt. (Or instead of some flat bar and U bolt, utilise an exhaust clamp - much the same thing).
Cap each upright by welding a flat rectangular bar that sticks out either side length ways with a hole/holes in each side. Drill & tap corresponding holes in the horizontal bar & bolt through, or insert wooden dowels in the horizontal bar & use wood screws or bolts into threaded inserts in the dowel, or both. That way you could still use the ally pipe. If you extended the upright all the way down & bolt through it & the spacer at the same time to fix to the trailer, it would all be easily removable. Won't be as sturdy as welding though so maybe another bolt &/or a flat bar inside the trailer like a long washer to stiffen the side & stop the bolts pulling through
Yeah, land/sand yachts are cool. Live 5 mins drive from St.Annes North Beach where a club was instigated in 1951, tried it a few times on open days, sadly racing banned for 10 years after in 2002 a dog walker tragically got killed walking across the path of a live race, pilot of the yacht cleared of blame, wind sports back racing again, European Mini Championships held there Oct'23. Surf board on 3 wheels is similar to the 'mini class'! Trailer - How about a plug in the top tube, then drill up and insert the vertical tube and hold together using 2 part constructional epoxy, like used for threaded bars into walls to bolt beams onto?. No external fastenings...🤔🤞🏴
This kind of thing happens constantly in UK. Group of people enjoy hobby X for many years, then tragically one person gets killed or injured, maybe even by their own fault, and suddenly the authority chops down into the fun and it all gets stopped or regulated to death forever. This needs to stop.
It's slightly off topic, I've been watching some old Macmaster videos, have you seen his live shows doing dangerous stuff they are so funny. Please get Lee in the Land yacht
Does Phil have a website...?

Nice furniture, but ouch!!! Those prices!!!
Rod Holder famously played Saxophone on Baker Street. True fact.
Good to have friends like that! 👍🏻

Wooden dowel insert?
"I looked up" is a great album by The incredible string band. 1960's Psych folk.
When you move to your floating island take a CB with you so you can say " 10-4 rubber duck" hehe.

"Don't Look Up" a great film about the end of the World.
Nothing like filling an aperture, Geoff.

Shame they banned it, but under what laws can they ban it?
People need to learn their right, jurisdiction... and their real names.
Scallop joint the upright for the tube to sit in, bolt and spacer to stop the crush.
Aluminium is fine for conducting electricity. Between 1950 and 1980 most houses used aluminium in the wiring.
Love to see funky Phils face when he's holding the aluminium bar when the power is switched on😂🤯
I like it 👍
Welcome to the Geoff and Funky Phil DIY show. 😂😂
