I would love that for all the different houses 6 month or 1 year where are they now and has clutter sneaked back in? plus it might help the people stick with and continue to declutter.

I can honestly say as someone living abroad that there is a low level sort of hoarding that comes from “stuff from home that you can’t get here”
Truth! And also when you come back, ‘stuff from there I can’t get again/get at home’ 😅
100 percent! I am going back to my home country for almost a month in August and I already have a lot on my shopping list. It’s a thing…but I am also shopping here for the things that my friends and family have requested!

Maybe with the utensils she doesn't use that often like the wine opener, store it with the alcohol/wine, same with baking, if they are baking specific tools just store in a bin in the baking cabinet then she can pull out when baking!
I do this too! Eg. Birthday stuff (candles, napkins, balloons) stored up with my baking supplies, coz that's when I use it all.
I came here to say this! I store my pastry-making utensils inside my mixing bowls to save space.
Even the bin of specific baking spices like vanilla,food coloring,baking soda and powder,etc.could go over to the baking cabinet. Personally,because baking is a passion for her,I would set up that entire cabinet for baking: a whisk,measuring cups,mixing bowls,flour,sugar,etc. with only the Kitchen Aid on the surface,then it LITERALLY could be the baking station!🙌🏻

Dani just looks and sounds different, I know the job situation was stressful but she stayed positive and seems to be reaping the benefits of Sorting her life out literally decluttered her old life (including job) 😂
Not weird, I have a favourite knife, fork, pudding spoon, soup spoon & teaspoon. And none of them match 😂😂

Same! It's to do with all the extra sensory issues us ND folks have: the shape, weighting, mouth-feel (eg. Right size of spoon), number of tines on a fork, serrated or straight butter knife for what you're eating... A lot more factors go into meals for us. (Just like the textures and flavours of the foods themselves). 😅
Those towels in a basket, placed on the ledge next to the wine bottles, would be a great way to reclaim that drawer. Drawers are premium in my world!

I think it would have been fine to put the apple cutters, pastry cutter, counter scraper, and cookie scoops(basically strictly backing tools) down with the towels. She'd see and remember they were there and she would cut her hand looking for items in that middle drawer. That can opener should be the easiest to access tool. Front of top drawer of possible.
i agree + it would free up space up there. I wonder if an interim solution could be a little reminder on top of the front of the drawer (the top ledge of the door front, the silver part, like with masking tape) that list the things that are in the bottom drawer :) Then you have both more space *and* (hopefully) don't forget them :)
I have cupboards up high with lists of the little-used-things on the inside of the doors. Then I can open up + see "Yup, it's worth it to get the step stool and climb up, because I *know* the searched-for object is in there!" :D

I so wanted Dani's story to end with a new job. But I'm delighted that the episode started with that.

As a disabled person, I implemented clear bins in all my cabinets. First it started with my spices and baking categories and then eventually everything ended up in a bin. So much easier for me to get down a bin than to go through a crowded unorganized shelf in my cabinet. From seasoning packs to canned goods and pastas, etc. I love my space. It’s simplified my life so much!! Simple equates 😊 HAPPY for me. Less is really more……FREEDOM.
P.S. I LOVE LABELS!!! A friend comes over and needs something, they can easily find it and put it back without messing up my organization! Love it.
I'm not ready for the last video with Dani, I've loved watching her declutter!
First, I am so happy for Dani with a new job & a fresh start in a clear, calm organized environment. I'm sure that I'm much older than Dani, but what I can say for sure is that the older we get "the stuff" gets harder to manage. I know that this is cliche, but less is more now that I'm mid sixties. Second, I want to say how impressed I am at how open she was to the process & let soooooooo many things go. Congratulations Dani on ur new zen way of life & wish u nothing, but Love & happiness in ur life...
Love love love this series. No you do not need that green herb scissors! I had one and it’s a pain to clean. A knife is your friend!

I think Dani should throw a big party to celebrate her new job and use that as an opportunity to get rid of all the booze, party supplies, treats, snacks,etc. and then it will truly be a fresh start. If she doesn’t throw a party soon then Party Dani is a fantasy and she should just let it all go. 🎉🎉🎉

I have my spices arranged alphabetically on a turn table. And found I need to buy the smaller sized bottles to keep them fresh - unless it’s like garlic powder that goes in everything 😊
I bulk buy oregano and garlic granules for Italian dishes, and coriander & cumin for curries. I refill my spice rack jars from the big packs.
April, you have great insight into your clients’ specific organizational needs and what will work best for them! Impressive!

Please get a cover for the rotary pizza cutter! A sharp thing in an "everything" drawer is asking for trouble.
Oof that bag of folded bags was so satisfying. And the hemp seeds and cashews in jars 🫙
Any foods you decant (like the hempseed and the cashews) needs to be marked with an exp date.
You can put a piece of tape on the bottom or the back of the container and write in the exp date.
if they are glass containers you can also use sharpies right on the glass and wipes off with soap and water later. game changer for me.

This video is the video I wish I had looked at years ago when I had a similar situation in a very tiny kitchen with no counter space and two cabinets to store everything, I had to use my clothes closet to store some of the food. I think you did an amazing job to declutter the kitchen without just throwing everything away, which is what every organizer seems to do to make it look pretty, but not necessarily functional for the person who lives there, this was just keeping it real with real kitchen items and food without beautiful colors, just like my kitchen. It's so good to have everything in containers like you did here in the spice cabinet, and it looks tidy and clean all the time. I have a cabinet for all my cleaning cloths and I put them into divided containers and everytime I need a cloth I just pull the whole thing out and take what I need and put the whole thing back in and it's not a mess like before when I had piles. I love it so much and I'm no longer embarrassed if anyone looks into one of my kitchen cabinets as it's so tidy, and you did such a good job here in this kitchen with very narrow cabinets and drawers, those are difficult to manage. Good job, now I will look at how you do the rest of the house, I can always use some tips. 😊

1. I would have left the rectangle container in the cluttered drawer and put the SMALLER or more dangerous items in it… the bigger items would have had more space. That was a frustrating situation.
2. You said “left to right” but moved right to left, that would have made a cute edit with a screen comment noting the funny error.
3.butter can sit on the counter in a butter dish. Dani, go ahead and use your counter butter dish! We love having soft butter for toast or baking 🤗
4.just my opinion: i liked the straws in the drink cabinet

I can’t wait for the real decluttering to take place for Danielle. These pass overs have been so eye opening, but seeing her struggle with letting go of cutlery clearly shows there needs to be at least 15-30 more visits to truly detox her mind. I’m sending her some good energy that she is able to release the trauma attachment to the stuff and frees her mind. Don’t ever stop decluttering you can do it! This was a nice 1st attempt, we have faith in you❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I think you are right it takes 3 or 4 passes of decluttering to realize you just dont use the stuff you think you need but that process can take years This was amazing first pass. I think there has to be a question after the automatic thought "no, its fine." Catch yourself and say Like is it really fine? Do I really use this or do I just think.I will someday? How many spoons do I really use and how often and " if I only had 5 to manage it would also keep me honest on doing dishes" Do I like and want to manage all the coffee cups all the time or can I keep my favorites and have less give me the same feels? etc. After Dani pulled them out she was able to see it wasnt fine but its knowing you have to question yourself each time and not jump on the assumption. I saw her make that mistake over and over throughout the videos believing her first thought. how many spoons or cups or whatever do I want to constantly manage? ( wash, dry, store, dust, move, pack, unpack etc) it is easy to keep them cause you have always had them and you become blind to the amount and truly cant assess what they are anymore they just become the cups or the spoons. . I think that is what you meant by attachment to stuff

Just found you two yesterday!!!! While we cluttering my night stand area(for about the 5th time in the last year and a half...). It seems easier to get rid of things you thought you needed each time...lol. This is coming from a hoarder. Over the past two years I've learned to change my bad habits(shopping\collecting). I'm so happy I found this channel! Not sure side I haven't seen it is a trash can. But if you have strong trash bags you can keep extra trash bags in the bottom of the can. I also keep some folded up neatly in a drawer or under the sink. Did you guy do a bathroom declutter? I think I've watched all of them! Also found Dani on Instagram. Would love to know more about what she teaches and choice to live abroad!

It has been such a pleasure to watch this decluttering journey! I have been decluttering myself and this gives me so much incentive to keep going. I love the Dani series so much I watched a few episodes a few times just because I enjoyed looking at the transformation. I love how confident and more beautiful Dani looks halfway through the series. Clearly getting organized has helped her tremendously and now she’s glowing. Btw, congratulations on the new job.
April, you’re amazing. There are some negative comments in here but pay no attention to them. You push Dani as needed but you pick your battles and you teach her as you go. I see the progress she’s made and decisions she’s making are from what she’s learned. Hopefully she will change her shopping habits but that takes time.

I keep a few small paper bags, in case I break a glass. I use the paper bag to dispose the broken glass so it doesn’t cut the plastic garbage bag.

That drawer her cutlery is in is quite deep. She might benefit from finding a way to use the vertical space.
I like the way you think! She could stack two trays on top of each other and she could have separate homes for straws/straw cleaners and chopsticks.
