When i saw that opening hand, i thought: 'Well that hand is really bad. Just pick a blue and prey.' But throwing the marketplace is something i'd never thought about. So thank you for learning us to think outside the box!
I personally really enjoy it when you post the livestreams as Im not always there whilst you stream, so its nice not to miss out and the timestamps help me know which games could be interesting. It is also usually a good mix of wonders and strategies which makes it fun to watch :)
@@WonderfulPlays I’ve been trying to think of some improvement but honestly it’s really hard, I really enjoy your livestreams as they are. Maybe a bit more promotion of the stream or a schedule could help people know when they are going on if this isn’t happening already
Great video as always Jan. Would you consider sharing the bga links of the games you comment? I would be really interested to see this one from Alexandria perspective. I think he has chances of beating red vs Gizah but is instead focused on hatedrafting against you.
That's true I think Carravansery is in every video, but it's just such a meta defining card I always have to put it in. There is always a chance that this video is being watched by someone for the first time, so I want to accomadate for the new viewers :)
What do you think about building the market instead of throwing it? Would the -3 gold be worse then a possible chain to caravancery and the small chance that your neighbours pick grey
@6:34, why is this a mistake? What should be the alternative play? I feel like we must build the stage here. If we play the stonepit here, we are owing 1 hand in age 2 to play the glass (compared to we can now play it for free), and another hand to build the stage in age 2.
Or do you mean just playing the glass and not building the stage? In that case, we still owe one hand in age 2 to play the stage, and the benefit is we don't need to pay 4 gold now, maybe we can get a quarry in age 2 and build the stage for free? So the trade-off is whether every hand in age 2 is better than paying 4 gold to a neighbor. Did I understand correctly? Sorry for my bad English
So my conclusion is, playing the stonepit and hoping to play glass in age 2 is not acceptable (even if we can get the glass, it's too slow because we will be wasting 2 hands in age 2); playing the glass only is an interesting choice, if we are going to pick the quarry in age 2, then this play is basically trading one hand in age 2 for +4 gold (and not paid to an opponent).
But playing the glass only actually has an additional risk: that is if quarry appears in hand with other card that you must pick (like greens, or the double clay), then you just don't have the turn to take quarry. And if it does not wheel, then you need to pay 4 gold anyway and losing a hand (even that hand is throwing is still +3 gold)
And as the game played out, @10:58 is the only hand you can pick quarry, but that means you are giving up the 4 point blue card. So the final trade-off will be 'quarry + 4gold for yourself and - 4 gold to an opponent' vs. '4 point blue card + a throw'. It's really interesting.
@@Sidnv I never tested that, but I assumed that they count as different cards as interface shows green check mark above the cards (see 11:06). Is it a known display bug or smth?
What was your craziest 1st pick that worked?

Thank you for the nice comment. Honestly 99% of the time I'd do the same, but sometimes you have an option of doing something cool ;)

Thank you, that's great to hear. Do you have any suggestions how I can improve the watching experience for you?

No marketplace for you!
(Well played on this one.)
Thank you 🙇

Thank you. I think this is a good idea, I'll try to that from now on, cheers! :)
Good content as always with the obligatory Caravansery pop up 😂 Unfortunate about the RNG!

I think it is a bit worse as my neighbors have no reason to not play for brown/red in this position.

What do you think about building both greys from the last hand age two (just for the chamber of commerce)?
You can't build more than 1 of the same card. The Age 2 greys count as the same card as their age 1 counterparts.

@@vlooda1 I might be wrong. You're making me doubt my understanding of these cards. Let me check.
I'm 100% sure you can't build them and it's just a visual bug.
