I’m all for player agency but Galvin is only a sensation now because of the opportunity the Tigers gave him. Sure, maybe a bit of an upgraded contract is warranted but you have to honour your deals. I’m all for players getting more rights in terms of time off, health insurance, etc. but the loyalty has to go both ways and this phase of deals basically meaning nothing because players can do whatever they want is getting a bit old. Multi-year contracts are a gamble for clubs, they tie down their salary cap and will pay you even if you’re out injured for the entire period. Players sign these to guarantee themselves a living. It can’t just be treated as an option for the player. I will say, there may be details I don’t fully understand which changes the outlook on this, I don’t know exactly what to make of him being forced to play with painkilling injections (although that seems to be pretty much expected in first grade across the board and is hardly unusual).
With his talent he’d have the opportunity everywhere and owes the tigers nothing. They didn’t do him a favour. They saw his talent and locked him down.
@@Giveme1goodreason Are you seriously suggesting contracts shouldn't mean anything if a player turns out to be better than expected or improves more quickly than expected?
not to mention his playing in a crap side so the opportunity to shine is there, if he was at a stronger club he'd be in and out of first grade, probably not even playing as of yet.
Jerome is a very busy player, always trying hard so i think the young tiger cubs will lift playing alongside him and his energy and api they will definitely be stronger in 2025
They're getting a 3 time premiership winning and encumbent SOO half next year. They have Api and Bulla looks solid at FB. They're also getting one of the best wingers in the comp (who is also a good FB) next year, have a heap of $$ and good juniors coming through. Galvin should give it time. He's had a few good games. He has nearly 20 years of playing ahead of him. He's getting ahead of himself. Remember a young Luke Brooks..

The problem with the tigers is Management. Everything starts at the top. Clean house and put in new Management. Look at the Melbourne Storm and try to replicate what they're doing and have been doing for over 10 years. The Tigers have been a abysmal for over 10 years and counting..l
It's funny how no one mentions the Raiders, we have had to run many young blokes. We also have 1m sitting in the bank lolol. But we are winning, I think the tigers have another issue, the snake rots from the head down.
In summary If you're an 18yr old kid with 10 NRL games under your belt and want a payrise, just threaten to leave. The Tigers will beg you to stay. 🤣 No 18yr old kid at the Storm would even dare, they'd beg to stay and take a pay cut
The fact he said Jerome is a once in a lifetime halfback tells me this guy is off his rockers. Jerome got carried to premierships by Cleary. Hynes copped all the flak for Origin 1 but what did Jerome do ? Nothing. Without Cleary, Jerome will under perform week in week out. Plain and Simple.
Jarome was one of the better players for nsw in origin 1, also had a try assist as well. Luai has also carried Samoa to a World Cup final, definitely can change the team culture at west tigers with a few experienced players following him.
The tigers are a joke. They want to keep Galvin but got Luai. The best think for Galvin is to leave this club of losers. Stefano's career is better off and no Richardson, you won't be a rich man no serious player will go to this basket case of a club. They offer nothing to the NRL. As soon as Richardson and Marshall leave then the club can disappear and stop being an embarrassment to the NRL.
Finally someone at the Tigers with some integrity and a backbone.
This bloke is pretty rational when he puts it in perspective . Care for mental health of coach . Not easy running a club
Richardson got us out of a hole for south's and he'll do the same for Tigers. Believe in his process
Never heard a CEO so down to earth and just says things as they are, I think the future for tigers might be better then it currently looks like
1. Bula
6. Galvin
7. Luai
9. Koroisau
It's actually a extremely good spine for 2025, could push the 8 if they avoid injuries.
