Almost every premiership winning team has had a world class playmaker/general as their number 7. Someone to direct them around the park. The likes of Reyno, Moses, Cleary, SJ, Hughes etc.

Except the board hasn’t been constant at all. A new board was installed 5 September 2014 - Marina Go, Lucio Di Bartolomeo, Rosemary Sinclair, Simon Cook and Tony Andreacchio. As of today, only Andreacchio remains a board member. So in less than 10 years, 4 of those 5 directors have gone, to be replaced by 6 different directors.

Good video, but the Gen Y and Z era's are overtly fickle and lack the substance required to endure losing seasons to build and stay at a club. If your a talented rookie, you are looking for a strong club, regardless of your junior club. But news limited's coverage of this side is where the real "bad luck" begins. Exploiting their huge supporter base and playing on the idea that rugby league thrives on bad news, This club gets negative press, as a strategy for news outlets. Sound Far fetched how do you think Luke Brooks became the most reported player in RL history, that piece of trivia has been known for a while.

Here's my 5 point plan to fix this mess: Step 1. Send Russel Crowe to jedi mind trick Tom Cruise to spend a few billion to split up some clubs like Western Suburbs, Steelers, North Sydney Bears and Balmain Tigers. Step 2. Get more celebrities and saudi oil barons to put money into these clubs and flood them with islander talent. Step 3. Go back to Top 5 instead of Top 8 final system, Where top 3 get 1 life before Grand final (fairest system for finals ever made). Step 4. Setup an NFL/AFL style draft with rules where you can't leave club straight away. STep 5. Setup a fairer salary cap system where you are rewarded for having a better youth program so you get financial incentives to stay at club that isn't affected by Salary cap. NRL is playing in USA. It's the best rugby competition in the world including Rugby Union. It will succeed in USA soon. We need our centenery clubs strong like the Tigers and Wests. We need the Steelers and St George as well.

A man only gets one mother and one football team in life. My footie team was Western Suburbs and when they went under, what was left? Wests Tigers just don't do it for me. They're not Wests. It's not just the board. It's them. They're not a club, they're a corporation, Wests Tigers Pty Ltd. The players have nothing to play for. They weren't alive in the days of Wests and Balmain. They have no real home ground. Leichardt Oval is not the spiritual home of the Magpies. On a north-south axis they're spread over half of Sydney. Their Centre of Excellence is in a suburb that is barely a whistle stop on Parramatta Road. You could write a book.

2 things have caused the issues at WT - either a) We have recruited or blooded players that have vastly underperformed and have not lived up to anywhere near their potential or performances at other clubs, and quite often vastly overpaid them for the privilege; or b) when we manage to get players to the club either through pathways or shrewd investment that actually perform at WT - they end up at other clubs for a variety of reasons.
People love blaming the front office, the chair, the CEO, the coaches - but the reality is that for the it’s the players that have caused the majority of the problems through underperforming.

    • @mcviper270
      @mcviper270 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

True the players create the on-field result. But there must be something going on when WT dud players become stars elsewhere (Ben Teo) + WT most promising young players leave for less money elsewhere (Tedesco, Luke Garner) + can't sign superstars even when paying overs (Latrell, Munster) + WT players who want to stay are shown the door (Moses, Hastings, Farah, Benji).

That’s a part of it - and of course having far less money to spend of facilities during the worst of the “Balmain going broke” saga didn’t help. But no club in the NRL has its problems so grossly pointed to off field like Wests Tigers does. Luke Brooks is emblematic of that. He was given every possible chance afforded to a player - and yet his best game is probably still his debut. The only time he ever looked decent was when he had 2 veterans running the show for him. Even this year - Koroisau aside, and possibly Klemmer, but the other recruits have been very ordinary (Papalii, Bateman), most of the ‘young guns’ have stagnated badly (Blore, Talau, Matamua, Pole) and we get the same old from veterans that is okay, but not good enough really (Nofo, Brooks, Twal, Joe Ofa). And yet, who’s getting the blame - the chair and the CEO……

    • @claytonnicholson830
      @claytonnicholson830 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

The problem isn't any fault of the players. Your management is recruiting and over paying players who come from winning sides an are seen as expendable by there former team. A decent player looks great when he's playin on a gun team, than when they are offered big coin multi year deals, why wouldn't they take it. Obviously something in the development side of West management is no good if they can't take talented juniors to the next level. It all comes back to management, they decide players, facilities etc

Nobody understand the west tigers or wants to be a part of it.
The tigers have an identity crisis as a club, they traded thier heritage for what ? A joint venture full of spite and indifference ?
The players don’t understand who the club is, they have a home game in Leichhardt, Campbelltown, ANZ, Commbank and training at concord ?
    Wtf is that ?
A footy club will thrive if it actually trains in its territory and plays its home games in its territory !!
But the tigers are just too all over the place,
that’s not to mention the teams players come from all over Sydney, and could a rats ass about the tigers as a club or the area they are supposed to represent.
I say bring back the Balmain tigers
    and disband the joint venture,
it clearly doesn’t work and just pisses people off.
Too many kids that love rugby league not getting a run in the inner west and Balmain.
Tigers need to go back their territory and keep playing at Leichhardt, and stop wearing white and black jerseys; The tigers are orange for gods sake,
play in your clubs colours and be proud.
It’s basic stuff that the management of the club has completely screwed up by making the tigers all over the shop.
    Keep it simple stupid 👍👍
Tigers need to get back to being who they actually are, a heritage team from Balmain and the inner west.

Alarm bells should have been ringing in 2020 when Harry Grant, an on-loan rookie from a different club's system, was the Tigers best player.

When is the board getting the sack. How many coaches do we have to go through and these clowns are still running the show. The Prime Minister of Australia can be sack but not the untouchables. Lee the fish rots from the head. I'm sick of saying next year will be better. Good luck next year lads🐯🐯

Absolutely correct. They've made one pathetic decision after another.
As much as I respect and admire Benji, he'll need a miracle to last more than two seasons as coach, most likely through no fault of his own.

@@paulgrey8028 mate if I was Benji I would not have came back after the back till stabbing board is sacked that sack him. The knights would never sack Andrew Johns you don't do that to great of your club

Do St. george illawarra dragons ❤🤍
*The NRL era hasn't been great for the joint venture. At least we got 2010. Should have more.
Can't believe we lost St. George bank sponsorship.
& jayden Sullivan. Ryles rejected the coaching offer.
Jack de belin stood down at his peak &
Losing Jason saab & Tristan sailor years back wasn't great either.
The real tragedy was 99 or not getting a GF while barret was captain (we had an all-star side) but couldn't get the cup until Wayne came down. Tough team to love sometimes*. 😅❤🤍
