Been using the shade cloth from bootstrap for the last couple seasons, haven't run into any issues and always had a great costumer service experience. 🙌

What would I need for a 30x72 with 6' side walls. Mostly vegetables will be grown. I live in central Louisiana

      50% for sure.
More veggies over flowers maybe consider black.
Like I said in the video it’s much nicer working under black if we are splitting hairs.

@@BootstrapFarmer ok, so what is the temp diff between black and white?

You mentioned that the black shade cloth had a heating effect. I have found that totally opposite. I am in 7b, rapidly transitioning to 8a, and when I spread my shade cloth on my hoop house, the temperature drops by 15 to 20 degrees Fahrenheit

You're right, you should see a drop in temps when applying shade cloth. All shade cloth blocks light, which results in a temp drop compared to outside. But when you're comparing black shade cloth to white shade cloth, black shade cloth will keep the temps higher than the white shade cloth inside the tunnel because the black coloring absorbs more heat.
We're going to be putting out a video that covers this question more in-depth so stay tuned for that!

I have tomatoes growing in pots along the outside wall of my garage during the summer.July temperatures here were 35-38 degree. My tomatoes dropped their flowers due to the stress they were in. I want to buy a shade cloth to shade them next season from this heat. Would white shade cloth be best for this situation and at what % shade cloth.

It sounds like white would be best but I encourage you to call and speak with our tech team so they can cover all of the variables.

What about the "standard" white netting? Does that also produce some shade effect -- even though that's not what it's made for? Thanks!

There’s so many different types of netting. There’s no way for us to give a great answer on that, but unless it’s for shade, I would not count on it as it would be designed for other purposes.

Would white 50% work well if i was to install it around a 10x10 canopy walls to keep airflow but provide shade and keep it "cooler"?

I did the same thing and it works great plus cuts down on wind.

I'm in central Kansas. So the white should work as we get to 110 115 degree days. But as I understand the 6 mill blocks the lite down to 78 percent so with 30 percent shade cloth over that sun lite is down to 48 percent. Can I give you a call and get some advice, definitely shoping at you're business.

How about some research data like temp values at ground level under black vs white?

There’s a second follow up video coming out soon where we took light meter test at the ground with plants.
