When you first showed the wye vacuum fitting- I thought to myself, just use a push-to-connect fitting if you know what the OD of the tubes are. Right then and there, you showed a push-to-connect fitting! McMaster-Carr sells them- just go to McMaster's site and search for push to connect air fittings then choose the wye style.
Just a quick note on selecting battery type for the tester... If that was a standard lead acid car battery, you should select "flooded", rather than "VRLA". "VRLA/GEL" is a different type of battery. They are fully sealed and use much less electrolyte (either gel or ACM), so they do test differently 👍
Always nice to see Jake on the channel 👍 funny that there's a weird pcv issue on LS engines of that era, Saturn engines of that era have as different pcv issue that is solved by replacing the valve with a "fixed orifice" one (with no moving valve part). I've had it in so long I can't even remember what the problem is...
The Y piece is a Standart pneumatic quick Coupler. You can find that everywhere when you search For pneumatic stuff... Manufacturer ist Festo for example
I'm glad to assume that you didn't get any of the plastic hose bits down the intake ports. You could get even more lighting in the shop by painting those walls and ceilings white. It would look wicked clean too. Please don't reveal the name of the dealer who sends cars to outside detailers before they are even road worthy. Most would detail last I would think and most would assume tires and battery at a minimum to turn a car around.

You needed to go to the Joplin Petro. Tour the showroom, and the chrome shop, pick up your wye connector, Have lunch at the Iron Skillet. But then, we want to hear the Vette fire up so get it in gear for cryin out loud! JK, you are doing a great job looking forward to hearing that Vette run again, and the inevitable group shot of all of your Vettes posing outside the building. Did it occur to you that if you replaced those vacuum lines with truck air lines you could of had your choice of red or blue?
That was GREAT that you ID'd and shared that fix for the Y connector. But, no mfgr & part number? You ALWAYS give that! Looking forward to hearing that Vette fire up!!
I drive semi (heavy haul) and carry some spare parker fitting. Here in Boise area I use Motion and Flow for these fittings. Nice thing about using these is you need minimal tools. Nice when you have an air leak in the middle of nowhere...yes I said you Wyoming😟☹😥 .
Although it costs more, many buy a Gen4 LS Valve cover and other Gen4 ventilation components. It replaces PCV valve with a fixed orifice and better baffling. Some go to a junkyard, some buy a Dorman part. It's been shown to lower oil consumption in early LS engines. I'm not sure if that stuff could be fitted to a Corvette LS1. Most end up on various 5.3 and 6.0 trucks. Given the number of C5 Corvettes and the enthusiasts they get, it would surprise me if some Corvette repair specialist built a kit to make Gen4 valve cover swap a quick bolt in. This makes me think of something VW enthusiasts do about leaking antifreeze. Many VW engines have crappy plastic pieces in their cooling systems that are sure to crack. The VR6 had one so bad, people called it "The crack pipe." Since The VW GTI and R32 VR6 have so many hardcore fans, companies make cast aluminum cooling parts to replace the plastic garbage.
@@bgee461 People call it a crack pipe because it is the first thing to crack open. Otherwise it looks like an ordinary plastic pipe. I hate when people make cooling system parts out of plastic just to please the bean counter accountants.
Hmmm. My dad bought a c5 last year and it has a high idle issue. I think you may have showed me the problem.. will be checking the connector when it comes out of storage.

Hey man if you have a minute I have an A&A c5 that spits oil smoke after I build boost. I had the supercharger rebuilt by vortech and once put back on it immediately did the same thing. That makes me think it is a pcv issue but I have a mm catch can installed so I don't know exactly where to go to make sure since I didn't install it. I'm over at riley so if need be I can bring it to the shop.
Didn't see if you used the foam blocks between the manifold and valley pan, front and rear, they stop water from entering the knock sensor wells. Hope you did, some gasket kits don't include them.
Me again... You will Always get a bad result if you charge a battery with that much corrosion on the clamps. And often, get a false reading when testing it as well. Too much resistance you cant account for, and that is why the charger was hot.
Solar panels would cost $75k (being conservative)to cover that roof. Would take so long to recover that in savings that it's simply not worth it... by the time they pay for themselves they'll be due for replacement. Also Kansas gets some bad weather so you could end up getting panels damaged from high winds before they even fulfill their normal lifespan.
