Hey guys, sorry for the long delay on this video! This was supposed to initially come out 2 months ago.
I was hospitalized for about 3 weeks and I'm still trying to catch up with everything, though now we should be back on track for weekly uploads!

I had been working on this video until LITERALLY the last minute (I wanted to make more additions and changes to it), so a visual bug or two was gonna probably happen haha

Last I checked, the Fusion Dance only lasts for 30 minutes, or you could use Potara Earings, but I don’t think you can put earrings on a digital animation.

I'd like to note, 24 frames per second means 960 frames that have to be drawn. for 500 dollars that means each frame is worth about 52 cents. if each frame takes 6 minutes to make you get a grand total of 5.20 an hour. I know this video is old but they could have at least done some googling and figured out how much money they would have to pay to make it even close to worthwhile
after watching some more and finding out the prize was increased, it goes into the realm where I can't really talk about it because i have no idea how to judge how much payment is fair for animation past the point of seeming reasonable.
A very important detail is that for most similar competitions artists can post there submissions after it ends so they'd still get there normal pay from youtube and even bring a larger audience to there work so a low prize (but maybe not this low) would be more accepted
But since this doesn't allow artists to post there work so even If the prize was an average freelance animators salary (wich I don't know either) most submissions would waste the time they could spend on something that will get them money to get a chance at a possible above average payout with is a really bad risk

@@IKnowThatFeelBr0 Just draw all the frames in Fire Alpaca, put them in Windows Movie Maker, and set each of the frames to be really fast so it makes an animation.
@@WasabiKitCat You know there's an onion skin mode in Fire Alpaca, right?
Anyway, the reason I don't think Fire Alpaca is a very good program for animation is because there is no timeline, it replaces layers to have somewhat of a "timeline" all frames must last the same amount of time and coloring is hellish because you can't have it be in a different layer. Even Photoshop, a program not really meant for animations does a better job in those regards.

I’ve never known the process behind animation so watching this was extremely informative, thanks. When you got into the storyboard section it really dawned on me what a pittance $500 would be. (I know I’m 4 years late to the story. But this is still super fascinating)
