I actually own the older model Retroid pocket 2! Sadly mine got the battery bug and died permanently 1 year in. Also I love this new video topic! New background looks amazing. We’ve missed you!
Great review! Order a grip from Retroid to see if that improves the experience/ergonomics for you. Instead of plunking down some serious cash for an Odin 2.
i've got the clear one and it does make it look a little weird, i call it the retroid condom cause the white is not as clear as the clear case.@@genjigearlive
Thank you so much for the comment on the Bluetooth controller issues. I have an earlier retroid with a similar issue and I wanted to know if it was fixed. Plug in a USB dongle and a wired switch controller and it works great. I use the 8bitdo pro 2 for everything!
I updated my Xbox controller but it still has a substantial bit of lag. Yeah idk if maybe the 8bitdo controllers are better, I am waiting on my grip for the retroid now, I think that will help a lot controller wise.
You know I haven’t done this yet, I can play Steam link through it so I can play my Steam games from a local PC with it but that’s all I’ve tried. I’m not super familiar with Android so I’m not too sure what the capabilities are.
i love my rp4 pro and i take it to work everyday and even after my trigger broke and i got the replacement the repair was really simple and it is great
I don’t remember, I followed a guide when I first set everything up, I remember them mentioning it but I forget if I enabled it or not but I know you can.
I was able to figure out how to switch to retro vs Xbox controller by input however I set the “Retriod pocket controller” as my controller but none of the controls are working when I play a game. Apparently, I would need to setup the profile for each controller mode as each controller has a driver built into Retroids OS. I see the profiles options but how do I set up the profile Xbox vs Retriod?
So quick question you're playing Skies of Arcadia is this running off of dolphin emulator I'm assuming on Android. Do you see any graphical glitches. Because like you said as long as it runs smooth that's a good system even on the steam deck I'm running into emulation issues on the GameCube.
You know what, that one did slow down a bit, I felt like it was playable but I didn’t play it long, let me try it again and get back to you. That was one of my favorite games of all time on GameCube, I really hope it’s playable.
Yeah I just double checked, the cut scenes play fine, the intro where you are running around on the ship runs at 30 fps, combat sometimes dips to like 20 fps, but I really haven’t played it enough to give you a definitive answer, there are probably certain parts that don’t play amazing.
I also have the retroid pocket 4 pro and game on a monitor.. I dont have any lag.. u need to use the 8bitdo sn30 controller they are very good.. also put your tv or monitor in game mode.. and also check your emulator settings.. I was also fearing lag but to my surprise its non existant!
Same colour way as mine. Good taste kid. Thanks and congrats on all the changes in your life.
Thank you! Yeah it reminded me of the Super Nintendo I had as a kid!

Oh no it broke?!! That sucks man! Thanks and thanks!
What battery bug? Can't you replace the battery?

Yeah I’ve looked at those, I may try it, also other people make custom ones on Etsy too.
I almost always have the grip on mine and it works well for longer plays times.
Yeah I think I’ll try it out

It's basically the switch lite, if you like that then this is fine. But if you buy the grip, it's soo much better. Only $15 too.

My first one too. I love it.
Dark Cloud 2 is one of my favorite RPGs. Have you tested that one yet? Awesome video btw man.
I haven’t done PS2 yet, I did grab both Dark Clouds for GBA though!
I love my so much especially with the grip. My Odin 2 is kind of collecting dust and is my Switch and Steam Deck.
Thanks for the information! Just a question, RP4pro its good enough to play cloud gaming? Gamepass and GeForce now, thanks

Wait, it already broke? In like the first few months of having it?
Just received my Pro in the mail is it safe to use a fast charger or do I need to pick up another charger
Oh I don’t work for this company I just bought one like you, I have no clue.
Have you already tried widescreen hacks on the emulator itself for PS1, Dreamcast and other console games?

Really? Okay cool, I will have to try and figure this out because I really wanna use a controller.
