I love my rp4 pro and even when my trigger broke it took like 2 weeks got the trigger and it was a like a 1 minute repair time and it had been great since
@@RetroResolve ordered it with mine based on the reviews. Tried it without and the pinkies! No idea what to do with those. Either they cover the down firing speakers or rest uncomfortably on the back side
Hopefully they will keep updating this thing and patch it up over the next year... I just ordered mine on the 17th of April of 2024 and it just shipped out so hopefully I get it here in a week or so I'm just thankful it's not the Chinese New Year and seemed to be an issue a few months back.
I love my RP4 Pro. With grip, it's so nice to play. And it's powerful enough for me. Personally I think it's better than RG556. I don't quite understand how come the RG556 has become the "Best handheld in 2024" already. It's not even the middle of 2024 yet...😂
I would not say its better, it depends on your priority...was comparing them for a long time since I'm interested in 1 so I saw a lot of reviews. The RG556 has a lot of thing going: Cheaper, Oled 1080p vs 750p IPS, 500mAh more battery, Many says better ergo despite owning the grip for RP4P. The RP4P seems like the grip is required for FPS and longer gaming sessions bumping the price more but can do more upscaling, has better quality overall like buttons/joystick/case, more pocketable.
I was able to figure out how to switch to retro vs Xbox controller by input however I set the “Retriod pocket controller” as my controller but none of the controls are working when I play a game. Apparently, I would need to setup the profile for each controller mode as each controller has a driver built into Retroids OS. I see the profiles options but how do I set up the profile Xbox vs Retriod?
The Pimax Portal can play more systems, and they're more stable, so I'd say that if you can get it for around the same price. Plus the detachable controllers are GREAT!
@@7shocker that's too much for a small battery. I just found some blog saying it's like this.. PR4 PRO: 9V2A = 18W or 5V3A = 15W PR4:5V3A = 15W only Source: Offical Retroid Discord / ChrisCovers (Admin)
I ordered mine on Thursday the 29th of Feb and it was delivered to me the next Friday. Im in Canada. Great device GOW perfectly for me the only thing is at first it feels a little small so unless you want to get used to it or have small hands i would suggest ordering the grip, mines on the way as i ordered after playing around with my rp4 pro. I also need to mention i dropped it once and i had to take it apart and put the L2 and R2 back in place as they fell out of the device but the fix was simple, other then the l2 and r2 the whole device feels solid. I had ordered 2 one for my son and I am a bit worried for when he gets it Easter day but for myself i love it
@@CellPhish mine took a little over a month but rhat was due to Chinese new year so if you shave 10 days off that would've put it at about 3 wks but who knows what else happened.

Thanks for this! Glad to hear it was as straight forward as it sounds.
Love the device.. but absolutely need the grip tho
I was *this* close to ordering that, haha.

For 200 which would you recommend Retroid Pocket 4 Pro, Pimax Portal or an alternative? Thanks. Looks to get a device. So appreciate the help. 🤞🏻

So uncomfortable even with the grip i sent mine back to get the odin 2. Not to mention the joystick should be on top which makes comfort even worst
What is the charger recommendation for rp4?
USB-C.
It'll take a laptop charger (65w). Wouldn't recommend to do that regularly though. It'll ruin the battery in short order

Grab the custom handgrip and live life man.
Wish the grip had a power bank on the hollow side of the grip.
@@WreckerALeX Agreed.
which one is better for ps2 and gamecube emulation. this or Samsung galaxy s20fe with snapdragon 865
I'd say this, purely because it's designed as a handheld first.
How long did it take to ship
I'm in the states it took a little over another due to Chinese new year so I'm guessing it'll take around 3 wks or so.
Mine's a launch one that took ages. It's normally about one week to ship, then another after that.

Typically Retroid to the states is just over a week as long as it doesn’t get slowed down in customs somewhere.
