Suggestion for the show: people send in their old footage of you guys skating their local back in the day and you play the clips telling stories (if you remember!)
Ellis' statement that once you've been a skateboarder it will always be with you has been received loud and clear. I haven't skated in 30+ years but the time in my life that I did skate is still precious to me. The memories I made skating in the 1980s are still special to me. My skate heroes back then remain my skate heroes to this day, and I'm still a little star-struck by them. I still love watching people blast on their shred-sleds. I enjoy listening to podcasts like this. I checked out the PastParticiple Instagram page Tony mentions in this episode and it brought a tear to my eye and a huge smile to my face. My skate days may be long gone behind me but they are far, far from forgotten.
Awesome show I love hearing all the stories!! In 92 or 93 Birdhouse demo came to my local skatepark I was the only one on the vert ramp watching Tony Hawk skate vert thats how bad vert was shunned back then, best experience I've ever had to hang out with one of my heroes just as another fellow skater hanging out on the ramp I'll never forget that memory!!
I absolutely love how much the two of these guys obviously care for each other. Tony being like "all you have to do is ask" and pointing out Jason's connections start with Tony himself was just sweet.
Absolutely grateful for this pod. I bought the DVD set of Tony's Gigantic Skatepark Tour as a kid and still watch it all the time (30 years old now). The continuation of seeing Tony and Jason's friendship is just amazing. Love you both. Keep on keeping on
Love the show! Starting my own nonprofit indoor skate park and roller rink for outskirt towns so kid's have a place to go, skater since 89, grew up watching you guys, love the reminiscing. Keep it up!
stoked to hear Jason is into the nineclub, lm the same age as Tony and have had the best education about the skate scene and industry from the nineclub as l too didnt care back in the day, gotta love this show though its so raw , love it
The old skater mentality is still kickin in this 50+ yr old dude. Loving the discussions about vert stuff and 80s scenes. Laughed out loud at the VERT BUTTON. Can't wait for the Mutt episode and possibly Lance Mountain. Keep it up guys. LIKED & DESCRIBED
Ellis Mate!!!! Freaking toughest legend ever man. So glad to still see you in things since the Hawk tour I saw growing up. And the fighting stuff he is doing now. Just unbelivable
just found this channel. im in my 40s, im eating this all up. Love you Tony!!! My life is always happy when i get to hear tony hawk. Bones Brigade ROCKS!
About that on the fly adjustment recovering, its science human reflexes are one of the first things to go as we get older. Can confirm I'm 52. You're still may all time fav skater Tony, a true living legend.
I was lucky enough to get to see Tony and his birdhouse team do a demo in 1993 at a skateshop in Bend Oregon. . . The best part was the shop built a bunch of ramps that we all got to skate for a few months before they fell apart.
hey guys, great show as always. would love to see you guys watch and talk about some footage. either old or new. old footage with stories would be really cool. much love.
I've never been on a skateboard but my intro to skateboarding was through Vert way back in the early 2000's. You guys are an absolute riot! 🤣 Thanks for all the stories.
😂🤣😭I've made it a priority to listen to this podcast and try to like it across all platforms. Skateboarding and laughs is just the best. I am laughing and getting inspired on the other side of the screen. Thank you.
Jason definitely needs to cop a pool deck!!! Crazy I talked to Bucky via TH-cam yesterday. He cosmically said Skateboarding rules!! As I was thinking the same, leaving an invite only vert ramp here on the east coast woods in the dark chillin on the flat staring at the stars with the homies. Awesome episode. Fucking rad Bucky.
Fucking love the show. I always (when I’m smart enough to remember) come and like and describe since I listen on Spotify. Don’t stop this show ever. Also when Ellis says wrong show, it’s never the wrong show! HawkVWolf. WolfVhawk?😂
I'm 20 and this is literally the only podcast I watch and wow do you guys make me wish I was in a different Era, you guys are so epic🤘Vans Rowan are the best skate shoe!
The comment of always being a skateboarder was awesome to hear, it does always stick with you no matter whether or not you're still into it. Personally, a slam on the concrete 5 years ago ended "skateboarding" for me, but I still have my setup, longboard occasionally, and keep up with the culture. Still dress like a skater too, even though my left shoe doesn't get worn down at the toe anymore from failing thousands of kickflips!
For real if you've been skateboarding most your life it never leaves you. I didn't skate during covid much I worked a lot but now I'm getting back into it I'm 36 years old I still have a little bit of time left just got to work hard and stay in shape. I dabble with fingerboards a lot now I remember seeing tech decks popping up in my local skate shops in the handboards funny little interesting toys lol
You gotta get Blender on here! That fella seems to be soooo elusive. As innovative as anyone, the vert version of Gonz! That movie should have been called "Search for Neil Blender".
I'm almost 40. I started again back in January after about 25+ years off the board. Today I was kick turning on a vert ramp about 10 ft in the air and doing a 50-50 to spine transfer on the mini. Don't hesitate, tomorrow isn't promised. If you are physically able, there is no time like the present.
Listen : The tombstone over the vert is always on point. The problem maybe with adding vert clips mixed in with street is that people have a sense of waiting because of the change. My think is what if you lump vert clips as seconds at the end of the video or better yet the beginning.
I had this happen once. Luckily I was going up a 6 ft quarter. I made it to the deck and grabbed my board and when I turned around I saw my wheel rolling away. It took me a minute to figure out what had happened. I though that maybe the nut had come off the axle but when I looked at my truck the axle wasn't there. It broke off inside the hanger and worked it's way out. I'm just glad I didn't die!!
No shame in being a vert skater...it's crazy that it went 'underground' for years...I mean wtf?!.. I never did it because I get vertigo really bad but I always loved to watch it...it's awesome!...
Or green screen with a camera on the ramp as a background. And a monitor for them to see the ramp off screen and they cab still use the regular background on a green screen
Love this shit Tuesdays arvo getting munted watching the best and fark yes we want you on the 9club Jas would be a rippa hearing about the Prahran days anywho top shit lads......
Even before Covid, quality has definitely taken a hit on a lot of things. Car parts like batteries used to have a long warranty now they're 1/4 of what they used to be. I had window regulators put in and the mechanic told me that they used to work for years but in more recent years they said they had to replace two or three sets while still under warranty. You can find videos of people snapping skateboard trucks and such from doing I guess what would be considered standard tricks.
The whole touring with birdhouse and someone who did'nt want to skate is insane to me. I would corpse myself dropping in on your half pipe in front of 30,000 people just to do it no questions asked. Tony my biggest childhood idol i had his book in the late 90's early 2000's and read it constantly. Birdman wants me to skate with him even if i have never been on a ramp that big and am not that good. I'd drop in immediately and go to the hospital with the biggest smile on my face. If i actually drop in smooth which isn't impossible because im at least decent enough to drop in pretty damn consistently fly out and hop on the deck on the other side like a rookie.
I've had multiple GullWings snap on the axle back in the late 80s. Edit: Also as a street skater, anyone that didn't skate that wanted to talk skateboarding brought up Tony, and it was like.. okay man... Then around 90-91 Tony was in a video all street, Ollie Impossible up a bus bench, totally smashing street tricks. Tony demanding street cred. Thean heading back to vert like, don't let me catch you talking about my street skills again.
Suggestion for the show: people send in their old footage of you guys skating their local back in the day and you play the clips telling stories (if you remember!)
What an incredible suggestion.
This would be such a sick segment
This please ! 🤩
This would be elite
I just love how stoked Tony is to interrupt his podcast to get some voyeur footage of Bucky on the ramp.
Ellis' statement that once you've been a skateboarder it will always be with you has been received loud and clear. Go get a board and roll! I just picked it back up after 30+ years. Best decision I've made.
Same brother! I surfed more than skateboarded, but they are both deep deep deep in my heart.
I just picked up a board for the first time in probably 25 years. Just helmet and pad up as falling hurts more lol
Awesome show I love hearing all the stories!! Its so nice waking up to two of my favorite people talking about one of my favorite subjects on a monday
Ellis Mate!!!! Freaking toughest legend ever man. So glad to still see you in things since the Hawk tour I saw growing up. And the fighting stuff he is doing now. Just unbelivable
I love that Bucky is using the ramp in the background lol
just found this channel. im in my 40s, im eating this all up. Love you Tony!!! My life is always happy when i get to hear tony hawk. Bones Brigade ROCKS!
Best pod on YT , every episode is great.
About that on the fly adjustment recovering, its science human reflexes are one of the first things to go as we get older. Can confirm I'm 52. You're still may all time fav skater Tony, a true living legend.
Jason would be dope to see on the nine club!

Many of us would love to see you Jason on The Nine Club 👾
Absolutely agree! Jason Ellis is my hero!
Love to hear from Lance Mountain - I bet he’s got some great stories / perspectives of the BB days

My sleeves are duality themed.... thanks Tony. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I'm 20 and this is literally the only podcast I watch and wow do you guys make me wish I was in a different Era, you guys are so epic🤘Vans Rowan are the best skate shoe!
Dislocated my shoulder at the skate park yesterday. Off to work today. Thanks for this content
I feel your pain, bruised my heel bad trying to clear a gap, been limping around work for the past week 😂
The comment of always being a skateboarder was awesome to hear, it does always stick with you no matter whether or not you're still into it. Definitely in the process of listening to all of these episodes

Monday’s are better thanks to these two guys. Cheers!!
Hey Jason. I had a copy of Whiskey 2. Your part was my favourite. Blasting to Acca Dacca. No Vert button
Task specific muscles. So true. I've found that's true in everything you do.
I'm perfectly happy watching you guys
Still just a little kid
With a smile

I'm almost 40. I started again back in January after about 25+ years off the board. Today I was kick turning on a vert ramp about 10 ft in the air and doing a 50-50 to spine transfer on the mini.

Go skate dude. Just have fun you don't have to impress anyone but yourself
Awesome Episode guys as always 🤘🛹 Cannot wait for the Mullen Episode Much Love From South Africa 🇿🇦
Listen : The tombstone over the vert is always on point. The problem maybe with adding vert clips mixed in with street is that people have a sense of waiting because of the change. My think is what if you lump vert clips as seconds at the end of the video or better yet the beginning.
The Nine Club is waiting for you Jason
Jason: "Fffuck, my whole life I've been the fast forward button" BWAHAHAHA 🤣🤣🤣 He's hysterical!
Would love some setup tips for vert from tony and some of the other pros. I thought every was using 149s, but those were too small for me.
I even watched you guys plug the sponsers and enjoyed it
Talking about people to possibly interview. Mike V would be cool to get on
NINE CLUB!!!!!!!!!! fuck yes been waiting for ELLIS. That makes me so Happy!
The Slept Kingdom is here, nosotros papaya. Can't wait to see Bobby ollie.

Watching Tony make Ellis Laugh so hard he had to grab that Rib...Fuckin Wholesome Dewd! I smile through every minute of these!

Great show today BTW!
Jason on the Nine Club would be EPIC!
Jeron talked about wanting to get Jason on the nine club in Weiss's episode
I'm pretty damn sure Bob Burnquist never felt this since he was so damn good.

Im glad these guys went on bertcast. I didn't know they had a podcast together.
Every time the camera switches to Tony I instinctively scroll up the window... in vain.
Jason is like “gay” and then I’m looking at Tony, your play birdman, then he says “gay” again and I look back “what you gonna do birdman?”
Fuuuuck Yessssss!!!!!
(You're a perfect person for The Nine Club)
I had this happen once. Luckily I was going up a 6 ft quarter. I made it to the deck and grabbed my board and when I turned around I saw my wheel

Ellis - during Weiss's 9club the whole gang said they want you on there !!! do it !
Nosotros Papaya !!
Love you guys on tigerbelly
When is the rodney episode coming?
Jason you had one of the best nine club episodes
No shame in being a vert skater...it's crazy that it went 'underground' for years...I mean wtf?!.. I never did it because I get vertigo really bad but I always loved to watch it...it's awesome!...
They should consider moving the studio around so that window of the ramp is behind them
Or green screen with a camera on the ramp as a background. And a monitor for them to see the ramp off screen and they cab still use the regular background on a green screen
Can use the green screen to put videos up of them earlier on a ramp or in a park.
Love this shit Tuesdays arvo getting munted watching the best and fark yes we want you on the 9club Jas would be a rippa hearing about the Prahran days anywho top shit lads......
you guys talk about these slams
WHERE CAN WEEEE SEEEEE THEM????
You guys are fucking awesome! Saw you on Bobby Lee's Podcast. Super happy to find your podcast. Subscribed and hooked. Hype! +1

Like insane i would try my hardest and probably hurt myself pretty badly just to skate with tony for an hour. For free
"Jake Brown wants to do the show"...... We're still waiting :)
Hawk vs Bam co-main event at EllisMania with Jason vs Luis J Gomez
Tony would beat Bam easily, 2ft more reach at least
The shame of being born in 83 and pressing the vert button all through the 90s/2000s.
I've had multiple GullWings snap on the axle back in the late 80s. I think Tony was talking about Greco on birdhouse before he was on Zero
hahahahahahah "THIS IS THE DUALITY OF MAN!"
This shit is mint! Tigerbelly sent me... Big Fan Tony and... Tony's friend!
Awesome, here from tigerbelly!!
Ellis vs. Mike V. in the mma cage
