I always approached photography and filmmaking in a super practical way. I did not understand, or try to understand every technical aspect of the gear, and I did not see why I would.
To this day, I have no expertise when it comes to all the technical terms being used. I don't see why we need to know, if we know how to use it.
I was told that Aperture, ISO and Shutter Speed were imperative terms to know. So I approached them practically too. How do I use the given values in my filmmaking? When I got the answer to that question, I knew I had enough information to create good videos.
In this video we are walking you through the very basics of aperture. I tried to explain this in a way your grandmother would understand. What is aperture in camera? It's what I am explaining in the two minute long video above.
