You're videos are bloody excellent! I like your delivery. You talk with us rather than to us. Also you are providing an excellent reference and guide for us all. Lakeland Tourism should be paying you royalties!
You just transported me back 15 years ago, when I last climbed Catbells in March. I’d forgotten how gorgeous it is, even when the rain drives across! 🙂 Thank you again for your beautiful and evocative vlogs. x
Climbed up catbells to high spy and back down into borrowdale valley this week with my 2 best mates aka my son's ,now back home .yuk.watching that video wish we had done this route .or maybe I'm too ancient.Keep up the good work legend loving it.
Honestly you've been a god send to a beginner like my self, I just wish you had put In the 2 scrambles you need to get through before the summit of catbells as these really can catch a lot of people out, I saw quite a few people struggling and totally abandoned the summit. Thankyou so much. 👌👍💪
Dude, I've only come access you couple days ago, ur videos are blooming EPIC! the angles, drone shots are absolutely superb and capture everything! The best I've seen on TH-cam, please keep it up man! Keep doing what ur doing 👍🏻👍🏻
only just found your channel.loving it.bringing back memories. from where you were on dale head i stopped in a mountaineering hut approx half way down the valley.you are inspiring me to et the boots out again. love your narration, so soothing to listen to.
We did the Newlands horseshoe about a month ago and cloudy all the way from Dale Head and up 'n' over Robinson - so lovely to see some glimpses of the views I should have had! Great vid - thanks!
Absolutely outstanding video. A joy to watch. I live in Scotland but come down to lakes every year i love it. The last time i was there i done the Catbells, maiden moor and highspy peaks then return in heavy rain for most of it. Was amazing!!
Quality video as always fella. Gets me drooling seeing these views. Spending 10 days here shortly and I cant wait. Please explain the voodoo magic with the invisible selfie stick cos I have never seen it before..cheers Glen
Oh man, bad memories on this walk!! January of '95 and we were on an outbound trip from school, got taken on this but the other way round (minus Cat Bells). Ten 16yr olds with two teachers. Trouble was, that was when the UK got hit with the worst snow in years. Think 2018's Beast From the East at least doubled. There was about an inch by the time we hit Hindscarth. The teacher in charge kept trying to call back to school on a 90's mobile, but couldn't get a signal. We got off Dale Head and the snow was just getting worse, think it was 3-4 inches by then. I was supposed to lead the walk up High Spy, but I realised that was a bad idea and tried to take the safer path down the valley. But Mr Bell3nd teacher boll**ed me and forced us up High Spy anyway. Some of those lads had never been anywhere more rural than Harrogate! Fortunately we got away with it and somehow made it back to Barnard Castle before the A66 was shut, but we did have to abandon the van and hike the last 2k or so back. Happy days....
Tremendous as it always is. Loved the Maiden Moor riff 😂 haha. Dale head was the same when I did it. Got all the way to the top and could see nothing then a few mins later that cracking view appeared. Have done Catbells too with Maiden 🎸 Moor. Just need to do the other side. Loved the drone as well. Epic shots. I’ve got a free day off. Might get there as soon as this weather picks up. 👍🏻
👋. Fab video. Just wondering how difficult is it to get down from dalehead tarn following the stream to below miners crag???? Then passing above dalehead copper mines then below Castlenook on the footpath. Recovering ankle injury so High Spy would be far enough for me after Catbells from your parking spot. Please 🙏 respond, thank you jules❤
Wonderful vlog as always and what a fantastic hike. We spent a night last year at the Littletown Farm Guest House you walked past and you're spot on Littletown is beautiful. Thanks for the OS map details, it's been added to the list for when we come up next. Thanks again, great work. 👍⛰️📸🐑
Just happened upon your channel and love the vids you post👍will be watching all of your content to help me through lockdown until I can get back out in the hills....thanks for posting and look forward to future vids.
some awsome drone stuff fella 7.04 would be a great still image 👍 i was supposed to be there this weekend but 2 hours into the drive i hit so much traffic i went back home 😢 best vlogs of the lake district by a mile bud keep it up 👍👍 really like how you put the routes in the info ive used a few now cheers👍
Thanks Paul, that means a hell of a lot mate and really pleased the routes are usefull 😊🙏 What a bummer about the traffic getting here. The world is just too busy 🙄
Excellent. I’m up and over in the Lakes next week for a little photography so your vlogs are dead useful for pre trip exploration 👍, if only to think, well I ain’t going up there on my own 😂
Can't believe I'm only just subscribing to your channel mate. What an arse I am haha. Good work pal. That 360 camera seems to be working a treat for you
Thanks very much and thanks for subscribing....hope you like what you find on the channel 😊🙌 The 360 is fantastic but does add an enormous amount of time to my workflow back home 🤯
Absolutely great vids which capture the atmosphere brilliantly. Just found this channel. What camera are you using on the invisible selfie stick? I need to replace my GoPro hero 3.... No worries if you can't reply as I am sure you have other things to do.
Just found your channel and subscribed. Absolutely loved this video. Can you tell us?what you use to film cos it is stunning. We can see the?shadow of the selfie stick but not the stick itself. It looks like a small camera from the shadow. Thanks
Great video and great walk :) What's the camera on the stick your using? and does the audio come from that or are you using something separate for audio?
So me an 2 buddies went to follow ur route yesterday today scafell pike yesterday and got a little lost (tried to go over great end from the first falk 🤣) had to bottle it. So dropped around the left run from the lake side of greatend and came back down the corridor route from the top. il say it was a awesome route. Think this will be our nxt. What do you think this will be like early October ?
Thanks so much, that means a lot 😊🙏 You should definitely do it If you're in the area 👍 I'm using a Canon 70-200 2.8 in this video but had a 24-70 2.8 in the bag that saw some action too 😊
Amazing video Glenn. Is it Gopro fusion ? I need to get that map. Any chance send me details where did you start your trip. I never been on catbells and I would love to go there. Thanks
Thanks very much Tom. It's the Insta360 camera - really great! If you look in the description there is a link to the OS map website that has the full including the start location. It's worth going up there if you can, just go midweek as the weekend it's rammed!
@@BlackCrag my girlfriend and myself like your walks. We miss it when the white little fluffy lump is not with you. The camera was most discombobulating on the straights, the forever corner made us sea sick. Keep up the good work. We will be doing one of your walks again this weekend. Also as a photographer I compliment you on your photography. It is good work and artistry. Unfortunately with modern phones everyone believes that they are Ansel Adams. @@MaliDaviesPhotography Thanks bud, hope you don't get bored 🙈🤣
Nice one. Do you have the OS route for this one?
The fisheye lens on the drone makes it look like everything is an abrupt edge. Bit worrisome, that.
wow so amazing video! greetings from russia
What sort of stuff do you use to take your pictures and videos? Have you got a list it anywhere?
I'm afraid I don't have a list. It's just a mishmash of various equipment
