Thank you for another lovely walk. So glad you didn’t do the full round as you did a route I first did many years ago and repeated many times. I am unable do much now and am not only grateful for the many memories I have but also that you share your experiences and take me to places I cannot currently access. I hope to see many more! Thanks for sharing.
Lovely walk. So nice to see you slow down n smell the flowers 😊 the walks really helping me thru difficult time as caregiver to hubby n unable to travel. Thank you🎉
Abbey, thank you so much for taking me on a hike I have long wished to go, but know I may never get to do. And, especially for the close ups of the gorgeous flowers and vegetation, which is always my jam!
I've suffered from depression now for nearly forty years and my happy pill is walking next to water lakes rivers canals or the ocean but talking about it makes me depressed so I've watched your videos nearly from the beginning but I have to confess I only watch the hiking videos but keep up your good work you do a lot of good 👍🖖
Catbells ... as you get older you appreciate it more, great episode Abbie you captured the views beautifully. It's not really tranquil, but its a shared experience with folks who wouldn't otherwise go into the fells and hopefully gives people a feel for the passion the outdoors invokes for walkers and climbers.
I always enjoy your videos and your honesty, describing lifes choices. I find a half hour walk in the woods can be as satisfying as a day hike. Connecting with nature is so calming, and you present that so well. Thanks 🤗
Hi Abbie, we enjoy your videos so much and this was great. You have inspired us to do the zugapitz which we will be doing in a few weeks time. Have a great weekend
Another great video Abbie thank you. We hope to go up Catbells in a couple of weeks on our way back home after doing Ben Nevis 🤞. Keep up the great work xxx
To be honest, I loved this walk more than if you'd stayed on the ridges and mountains! The last part through the valley was great. It felt like I was walking with you through the woods and farmland.
I always enjoy the Cumbrian way route along Derwent Water, never get bored in summer as always good for botanising with the little streams and craggy sections. The only bit I don't like is the heavily eroded sections of exposed tree roots that seems to always be super busy with groups. I did as a student in my 20s as far as Dale Tarn from Catbells and then dropped into Newlands Valley. It took much longer to do just that ridge section, i remember missing the last launch and having the extended walk back into Keswick. I've done other bits of the round separately but over time the need to do it in one, evaporated i think its knowing that the later part is always against the clock somehow unless you start really early.
What a lurvely walk, thanks Abbie! I prefer valley walking in the beautiful pastures and woodland anyways. Like the colour coordinated T and sunglasses 😁
I've a bit of a block when it comes to getting any further than Catbells on this one too. I've done all the obvious routes up Catbells so I'm getting bored of that bit now, even considering using sheep tracks to spice it up! Either I set off too late in the day and realise I'm losing the race against the sun or I'm with someone who doesn't fancy going any further! Only really want to go as far as Dale Head tarn and then down by the waterfalls in to Newlands. I've walked to those waterfalls through that beautiful valley so I've even already done that bit, but can never seem to get as far as Maiden Moor never mind High Spy. Don't fancy the steep rock faces of Robinson from descriptions of including it, were you going to tackle that on this round Abbie?
After watching a video of going up Robinson the High Snab Bank way I reckon I could make it up that way ok so I think like you I'm approaching this one from the wrong direction that's the problem! 😇
It's always good to have a plan B and not get hung up on completing your original planed walk. Always enjoy your videos. Is there a glitch in the edit at around 2.45 ish ?
Walking is what you make of it and what you want it to be and you have the freedom to replan and take a different path. There shouldn't be any rules or judgement about this

It's a happy blessing to be able to walk. Going easy is life affirming.

Thank you, Abbie!!! What a relaxing, peaceful walk. Adventure comes in many forms, doesn't it? ❤
Yes it does!

Great video, thank you for taking the time to put it together and sharing. Your self awareness and self care is very commendable. Look after yourself.

Well said!
Fine art of just strolling. We don't always need a goal, very freeing to allow that to be!

That looks a amazing walk I'm up there in December weather pending the walk is my plan
Wonderful.
Catbells 🥰 A busy but beautiful location for a hike. The weather looks perfect too. 😎 I wonder if the teddy in the window is still there 🧐
I think so!
Thanks Abbie :)
Always the right decision to give yourself space if you feel you need it.
Perjalanan yang menakjubkan sekali
One of my fave’s but them blooming steps are killer on my poor knees, we always drop down the rear side and avoid the killer steps👍
Haha that's fair enough! Try to stick to the paths as they are though as this helps to reduce erosion. Enjoy your hikes!
@@AbbieBarnesWILD there is a path that runs along the rear, agree completely we always stick to the paths👍
I think Catbells has one of the best views in the Lakes, looking over Derwentwater
Agree! And Fairfield:)
I need a green Stay Wild Tshirt in my life!
Keep an eye on socials! New colours coming soon! @abbiebarneswild on Instagram 😎

Is cat bells from manesty an easier route to the top?
Are they still your new boots and if so are you finding them OK this time?

😂😂yes oops!!
Absolutely gorgeous 😊 Really enjoyed this walk. 😊
Thanks so much 😊
