  • Not being satisfied with the mundane, adventure is something we crave - especially in the form of exploring new places. This year we decided to spend New Years exploring Big Bend National Park. We had a blast but didn't scratch the surface of what all you can do there. It's a place we plan on going back to many times.

  • @KTMcaptain
    @KTMcaptain 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Honestly, Jeep should make a Grand Cherokee Rubicon version. Give it a nice 2-3" lift with either a portal hub (yeah right) or a diff drop, armor it up, lockers (or rear locker and front ELSD or dual ELSD) and clearance for 35" tires. Plus disconnecting swaybar (which is already available now) and connected airbags (heave spring setup for weight transfer). Lastly, give it some good steel high clearance bumpers.
    .
    Charge $60k base. I wouldn't get it, but Jeep needs to build to ultimate off roader for both luxury and lifestyle segments.

    This would have been an entirely different experience had you visited when school kids are on vacation. We were there over Thanksgiving (been going for 20 yrs) and it was so crowded, the Chisos Basin was 1-in-1-out. It’s unfortunate that these “secret places” have been so exposed the last couple years. Now, they suffer from traffic and vandalism.

    • @frenchie4wd
      @frenchie4wd 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m thankful that people are getting out and exploring the amazing things in nature. I wouldn’t consider a National park as a secret place so I would expect it to be more crowded. And it’s so unfortunate about the vandalism.. I believe that is lack of education.

  • @mierdevries9643
    @mierdevries9643 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Oh man, I go to Big Bend quite a bit and I've come to love it there. As you probably saw Black Gap is "unmaintained" but it gets plenty of traffic so the plants don't creep in on the trail to much. I swear some luxury off-road club came there and put that concrete in. Now if you want something different that when they say unmaintained, they mean it, well that would be Big Bend Ranch state park. The trails are not highly technical in the main southern part of the park but there is tons to see and GOBS of wildlife. If you want something wacky AF go to the northern part of BBR because no one goes there. If you do go to the northern part you get a bonus as the mountain on that side has a 4G tower on top that gives out good signal, at least for Verizon anyway.

    • @OzarkOverlandAdventures
      @OzarkOverlandAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We definitely want to check out the state park when we go back!

    • @mierdevries9643
      @mierdevries9643 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@OzarkOverlandAdventures Be sure to check BBR's web page cause they have a schedule for closures during hunting season. Parks department has a lottery for hunters to come hunt, it's not a free-for-all. Tons of deer, quail, dove, some donkeys, and the occasional big horn sheep.

    Question! I have a 2020 Trailhawk and I have a squeak just like yours at 17:37. I have full Chief skidplates underneath and thought maybe they needed to be tightened. Then I thought it was an upper control arm because the squeak seems to be coming from the front suspension, but the dealership said it was rubbing from my Falken Wildpeak AT3Ws which are 265/65/r18 because standard is 265/60/r18 (I called bs because lots of people run those without spacers with no issues, and the squeaking started a year after I put those tires on, so..no.) Any ideas?
