    A suggestion…paint the inside of all your closets white…if you ever decide to change a room colour you don’t have to worry about the closet and it also makes it much brighter!

    • @Lucinda_Jackson
      @Lucinda_Jackson 2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      They used to paint closets blue. It prevents those tiny yellow/brown dots you find on clothing that was hung up clean at the end of the last season and prevents yellowing of whites. I don’t know why it works, but it does. I think the yellowing and tiny dots mostly happen with cotton or cotton-rich whites and very light colors.

    I look at that nook between where the basement stairs come out and the stairs to the second floor go up and think: What a GREAT place for a sculpture!
    I also look at the stairs, from 1963 until 1973 I grew up in a house with a triangle steps around a bend like you have. For all but the last few months we lived there, we had a small-ish dog who almost always slept on the lower triangle step. Princess, the dog, really couldn't jump easily on furniture, and the room the stairs came down into was our family room. This was where she slept to be part of the family. Most of the years we lived there, we had a formal living room and also a TV room. It was only the last few months we lived in the house, while we were selling off furniture and stuff that the formal living room was actually lived in, we still had the family room.
    When we built the house, we were one of the first to install cable in the build. For a while we even had two, TWO TVs! When my dad died in 1984 the folks still only had 1. Even my mother never had a TV in her bedroom. I have one currently in my bedroom, unplugged and I'll be moving into another room with a TV. I might be unplugging that one too. I'm such an old fashioned gal I guess.

Otherwise, continue the same height and then don't do a handrail for the first portion of the turn on the wall. I've loved everything about the house, but that's one thing I'd question.

    It certainly appears that the finishing is very high quality. Personally, I'd keep all the wood scraps. You can use them for little projects, fireplace, perhaps an outdoor fire pit, or even a shed for garden tools just next to the veggie garden. At least for shelves in the shed. You may want shelves on which to start seedlings for veg, flowers and so on. Since your garage will be all about vehicles, a good sized garden shed may be in order and that will need shelving and hooks to hang tools on. Great call on the fireplace design - it is a stunning centerpiece and focal point. I'm blown away by how much noise those glass doors cut - imagine how much better it will be when the carpet and drapes are in to absorb excess sound! The main bedroom closet is quite nice; you're going to really enjoy being able to put things away so easily. Congratulations. It's fantastic.

    Abby's bench end wall should be a bookcase, and add shelves clear to ceiling in ur closet, still now enough shelves there and ur closet is still too small. NICE PROGRESS THOUGH!

    I am not seeing any electrical outlets going up the stairway. It's nice to have them for decorating purposes, as well as on that half wall to the right of the stairway on the main floor. You probably have already planned things out, but that seems like the perfect place for a shallow table with a lamp. Everything is looking so wonderful!

      You'll need outlets for vacuuming, that's a lot of carpeting. 🤔

    • @davidplayz7323
      @davidplayz7323 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You never put electrical outlets on stairways because they will cause a trip hazard, you install an outlet at top and bottom stairs!

    • @martaaberg3330
      @martaaberg3330 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@davidplayz7323 Cords cause trip hazards, not outlets, and that can happen no matter where outlets are placed. On stairways with multiple 'landings' like this one, it is common to have outlets if for no other reason to have plug-in nightlights on the stairs. In actual practice, the further away the outlet, the greater the chance of tripping because of the length of cord to reach it.

    Hey Alexander!
    Now might be a good time to have some camera mount brackets or small shelves installed for future camera angles.
    You can always put oil cans on them too.

      @@nyclady27 i was thinking the garage. Having a master shot from a security camera vantage point always makes editing easier.
      I’m envisioning Alexander starting to use additional cameras as his channel gets bigger.
