HT's and HG''s are my favourite Holden models. I love the chunky, rugged styling and circular dashboard dials. To let these die away in paddocks is a crime IMO. I had an HG Kingswood sedan in light green with a white roof and rare bone interior. I loved the 186 motor..........but hated the three on the tree, particularly in built up traffic. After three years, I sold her and got a VB Commodore, which I never liked as much. I did consider another HG, but by then, values were heading off the charts. It's sad to see this red one becoming a donor car, but if it helps keep a Monaro on the road, it's a good cause!
Spotted the 63 xl Falcon coming through the roadworks, same colour blue and white was my first car with a 170pursuit motor in it 😂. Good job recycling guys love how you recover and reuse !
Would love to see a full series on paint for this including body work rust body filler dent removal primer paint gun tip size paint gun love watching body work on classics
Very cool there..by the way i believe that UC torana use to be in Adelaide i remember it in mint condition around 1987 or so Edwardstown area a guy who owned a fish n chip shop owned it.Same wheels too.
Awesome mark I had the chance to buy a 70s prem 307 stroked to 327 power windows etc mint car I was about 22 then mate wanted $2800 then didn't buy it bad mistate ended up with a Aussie ht monaro 4speed 253 bucket of rust $2500 back then great car sold it to a fisherman to restore who had more money then rhan me to restore it , couldn't believe the amount of ownership it had in Aussie was amazing love your channel mate ,how is Andy going with the we house up the river after the floods ,mate , cheers , shaneo, nelson, nz, 👍🍺
Well done guys u remind me of me a my mates doing the same with our forklift hoist hay it works good score can't wait to see the GTS when done keep up the good work 👍💪
Hi guys , Id highly recommend you don't do a front mount steering rack conversion, you simply can't get exeptable steering geometry. You end up with bump steer , reverce Ackerman where the front wheels will tow in when turning ( they should tow out) the car will have horrendous understeer especially on a wet road. If you run the original long steering arms to enable the tie rids to be relatively streight the rack ration becomes excessive . A rear mounted and shortended VB to VK Commodores no power assisted rack is a far better plan , steering geometry is vastlt improved however does provide sump capacity challenges that can be improved with wings on the sides of the sump , an oil accumulator or both. Just sayin !
Its getting a complete new front end put it in mate, not just a rack. It’s getting custom tubular arm control arms and x member etc.. which is all designed around using the Torana rack, im sure we’ll cover this in a future video. Cheers
@@TheIronEmpire I've seen comersially available aftermarket front ends that still arn't right. If the lower control arms are the same width or close to the same width as the factory arms this force's you to mount the rack too far forward if your using a Torana rack. To achieve Ackerman the outer tie rod ends end up sitting inside the rims and they will hit the brake rotor if you run HQ (or HQ replacement offset roters) You can run BA Falcon rotors to by space as the hat size is smaller. If you run narrow front runners or large diamitre rims lets say around 18inch it makes enough space for the tie rods "however" the steering spindles (arms) need to be very long to achieve this thus making the ratio of the Torana rack unacceptably low because the factory Torana arms are very short. PS if your running front runners on the street none of this matter as the won't steer properly and understeer anyway. Just trying to help
@@craigritchie1933 its not a commercially available aftermarket front end going in the car. And I’m unsure of the wheel combo at this point, nor is it my car anyhow. More info will come to light on a further episode. Thanks mate!
Hey guys would like your input on something I've just bought a Hz sedan cheap that's pretty rusty everyone says strip it but I really want to save it, what are your thoughts? And any idea how hard parts are too come by?
Fuck yeah good episode boys, good to see some old girls getting saved or being use for a purpose and not just rusting in a paddock until unusable.
Ahh.. the subtle art of skull dragging!!! We've all been there once or twice 😂
