    It seems to me that many of the manufacturers are missing the whole point. Affordability and a base option is what is needed most

      Everyone has different needs. Many people have quite enough money to afford more luxury.

    • @mindseyedesign
      @mindseyedesign  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      What is affordability to a broad customer base? Are there specific numbers that fit into what the general public would or wouldn't consider affordable? Having featured thousands of campers on this channel, most of which are above average in price, luxuries, amenities, and new, specifically, for a reason - they are more entertaining to view in short features on TH-cam. My observation regarding prices is that the prices are at market value. However, you can buy a camper at almost every price range to fit nearly every budget.
      You can also save money buying an earlier model, used, or without bells and whistles. We have a dedicated playlist to the lower price range campers available with many options to add to that list. For the most part, our viewers tend to watch the more lavish trailers featured than the more common basic builds. Watching our videos, I would expect the campers to be higher-end campers with higher prices than what the once in a blue moon camper would pay. I am only trying to be fair to the companies we feature, and I see these types of comments often enough to feel it's essential and point out we feature campers meant for people who would live in them, camp, and frequently travel in them, along with understanding what fair market value is. The term "you get what you pay for" comes to mind, especially when shopping for campers. If we browse the Alibaba website, there's a good chance we find some knock-off campers (borrowed designs) with considerably lower price tags. I doubt they will include a warranty, but it's another option.

      @@mindseyedesign thank you for the indepth response addressing that topic.
      It's easy to see all this cool stuff and lament the price point, but the fact remains no matter how high it might feel to some, there's clearly a market for that price point or it couldn't sustain itself

    Cortes is my fav. I do like plain/modern interior. I want ease in cleaning and this one is it. Spray cleaner inside, walls too. The full frig./freezer is a plus. The length 17' is manageable for just about anyone and the dry weight is 1800 lbs. Even loaded it can be pulled my many autos: SUV, small trucks on up. 30 gal H20..great! Bathroom/toilet/sink all good to go. You can change the color too. No rust anywhere (love that) and a 4 season trailer will open many options. I also like the Starvision, modified pop up camper. Pop Up campers "can" be awesome, but not the ones we have in the USA. They have needed a redesign for many decades. Anything cool like this that I can park in my garage is a huge plus.

    glad trailers like these, are foregoing kitchens for bathrooms. Camp cooking is often done outdoors anyway; so i plan to have a bumper box that doubles as storage and platform for cooking.

    • @kellyname5733
      @kellyname5733 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Agreed, kitchens take up a lot of room, but it all depends what kind/where of camping you want. I would want a 4 season camper, dont want to be afraid of snow or below 30 degree weather. As long as I "can" cook with a portable stove/ cooktop, and a sink inside...Im good. Cooking outdoors is much more fun. And...I dont want my camper to stink of cooked food inside. Bathrooms/shower inside have to be there.

    • @amandawilcox9638
      @amandawilcox9638 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That 8k gvw puts me off, though. Buyers can wear out engines, trannys and rear ends thinking "tiny drop" actually means tiny...I do love the loft with double skylights.

    • @Freesavh1776
      @Freesavh1776 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@amandawilcox9638 your are most definitely right to be cautious about the
      8k gvw. Anyone considering the tiny drop should know how to tow a trailer, & have at least 2500 with a trailer brake set up on it. It really wouldn't hurt to look into finding someone to help teach them about hill & mountain driving. It would be tragic to lose trailer then truck brakes coming down a decent to serious grade. And those are worse out west. I drove TT for over 20yrs. I've seen quite a few travel trailers, motorhomes, & fifth wheels on their sides, roofs, & up run off ramps too many times. Motorhomes, I wouldn't ride in 1 of those for anything. It doesn't take much of an accident to make them look le a bomb went off going down the road.

    Okay,,,If the roof was a collapsible,, fold down,, similar to the "Rockwood" or "Airliner" A-frame style,, would be an bonus,,since not all under passes or side roads (Frontage) will this fit under. Also,, if they would add "Azdel" insulation and make the undercarriage of trailer a solid steel frame with off road capable Rims & tires,, WOW,, what a hot sell here at home.:)

      @@hdoakvilleSafari Alto came onto the scene when everybody wanted a small pull trailer. I think many may not know of this really cool expandable trailer. 2 years waiting?? Wow that is a long time, but all the RV/campers have a waiting list. There is one thing that I do not like about the Safari Alto is the shower set up and I kinda do not like that center tall console thing either. How about you? I will say that all the windows in the expandable walls is AMAZING!! If it wasn't for those windows and its capacity to shrink down for easy garage parking, I would not have even considered it. Good they are in still in business.

    There's no need to trumpet Cortes Campers when they've yet to enter widescale production and haven't proven themselves a player in the molded fiberglass trailer industry. What about Escape Trailer Industries? What about Casita? What about the lower cost Scamp? All are lightweight, fully equipped, easy to tow, and all have bathrooms. People are getting evicted and losing their homes and they are finding this way of life out of desperation. These people are not holiday camping. Luxury conversion is ideal but how can it be done at a minimum cost?

    The tiny job is hands down the best design because it does not feel like a camper but a home. Do not like the hotel feel. I love the red and turquoise warm colors and the 2 comfy stool eating area. The great feature is sleeping with the stars loft. A bathroom. I would live in this year round if I could but alas Canada is too cold. Is there going to be an all year round insulated, heated one to come? I would rather buy this than a tiny house it has all the features and sleek design and you are mobile. Come on even a toilet and shower and small w.m. This is down scale at its finest. I used to have a 5 bedroom farmhouse large acreage and would feel comfy in this. Space is over rated for sure. 2nd choice hands down is the Australian one with pull out BBQ genius design also.
