TRIUMPH Water Pump Upgrade. Rebuild along with radiator and stat discussion. @DIYHELP

I sent out my water pump for full rebuild and upgrade by The Flying Dutchman. Came back great. This upgrade replaces the factory four flat vanes with a modern six vane impeller. This will increase flow. Especially at idle which is most important. So better cooling and less work for the engine. He also has a recommendation for rebuild overseas. It’s on his website as shown in the video.
At this time I also had the original radiator rebuilt and added a drain cock.
I also promote the quality of Intermotor stats versus the common Stant.
Right now everything cools almost too well. I added Redline water wetter which even improved cooling. So I’ll definitely going to put the 180 stat in.

Your lucky to find a local shop with reasonable people, my local one wanted $750, would not even consider cleaning out the core, their flow test was put a hose in and guesstimate how fast the water comes out, their opinion, replace the core.

I believe new core was closer to $750. Full clean paint and check was much less. So far cooling has been excellent. I did put the 180 stat in to see how it goes. Seems fine so far.

Where did you getyour radiator refurbished with that new drain put in?....it looks great!

Just a local radiator shop in tampa. Only one left. They have all closed shop. About $150. You Save a lot of you don’t recore it. About $18 to have drain added. I’ve used it twice now. Super helpful.
