This guy is the best at making big deals out of nits. Changing temperature on the screen is no big deal. Turning the rotary switch to start or stop the car is no big deal. I guess some think it's cool to fuss over trivial things, but they miss the forest for the trees. We have an XC90 Excellence for five years now, with the original Sensus software. Works just fine.
There should be no question about what the car is in terms of nationality. It is a Swedish car. Volvo Sweden is responsible for the design, engineering, road and crash testing, platform. It's just built in a Chinese factory and really is the only major Volvo for the Western market built in China. The rest are built in Sweden or Belgium and the s60 is built in the USA. It's not Belgian when built in Belgium, not American when built in the USA so why should it be Chinese when built in China? Doesn't matter where it is built to me as long as it is built to Volvo's tolerances and the managers in the plant make sure of it. Chrome has zero to do with China. And the Swedish flag is for the Swedish car it is. Also update yourself on China. Some of their cars are understated and some are very heavy handed. They run the gamut and they have a lot of strong tech in some of their cars. Great looking car. But, Volvo needs to go electric because it hasn't used 5 and 6 cylinder engines in a long time and to get that effortless smoothness and more, electric is the way. This car gives a hint of what an EV s90 would be like. At some point this car will be redesigned but the SUVs will get the redesign first.
No China bashing from me. But I can understand Volvo why is perceived as Chinese, regardless of where a particular model is being built. Volvo's parent company is Chinese, which may explain people's objections about the Volvo brand nowadays. In case of the iPhone, Apple isn't a Chinese company. EDIT: I too thought the chrome comment from the host was a bit daft.
@@jaffaorange3809People should do research then. A test Volvo crashed a few days ago, a prototype of a new model that is testing. Where did it crash? In Sweden where all Volvos and Polestars are tested, not China. Really, ownership doesn't determine the nationality of the car. Volvo is Swedish regardless of whether Ford or Geely Holding owns them. It's in how the car is designed, engineered and feels, not who is financing the operation in Sweden.
It looks SO GOOD! Proportional, classy, understated. None of those HUGE grills and fake air vents and other crap other manufacturers (especially BMW) put on their cars. If I had that kind of money I'd definitely buy Volvo over the new 7 Series, just for the looks alone. And it's much more eco-friendly than competition.
Their cars are still designed and some are still made in Sweden and even USA. Most cars are manufactured in different countries so that certain models can be closer to consumers who are buying them.
The engine cover is a soft padded material for pedrestian crash safety. Volvo says that by making the engine cover a soft material a person impacting the hood of the vehicle is much safer and the impact harshness is reduced. I thought this was more of a fun fact kinda thing and I may as well let you know. As always great video and quality is superb.
Chinese take over actually increased the investments in Volvo to be able to build such great cars and they've done a wonderful job bringing these to the market. Total competition against the Germans. All those investments helped to not let Volvo be another SAAB sad story so nothing wrong with Chinese investment. Together with Volvo Sweden they are making amazing products produced in various parts of the world.
Gorgeous, fast, classy, roomy and above all SAFE. Volvo is known for safety not for seats. You should read about the engineering that actually goes into the seats where Volvo makes you the priority and not the looks of the seats.
Volvo has been years and years ahead of its competition in terms of design and quality, pay attention to what they release such as the XC40, new extended range recharge models, the up and coming XC90 & EXC90 a lot of their competitors are only now getting behind the wagon. I'm also pretty sure they were one of the first luxury competitors to place the 48v battery in their vehicles going back to Late 20'. Hence why these almost 8 year old bodystyles with a few tweaks still sell.
its pretty good for its price. i have gone through many options like the E class and the A6 Audi and they simply lack the features this car has at this pricepoint, i recommend the b6/T6 engine inscription for the S90 or the XC90 as they are not crazy fast like an E450 or a GLE 450 coupe or as loud (which i love popping exhausts) but i wanted to go for the polestar 2 and it simply did not have it all figured out like the tesla so i got a 2023 S90 b6 in Onyx black and white nappa seats, and i love it
My gf and I were gonna get a s70 2019 . Test drive a few. Tech was kickass but how it drove was ok. Audi A6 was at lot so thought I’d test drive that, it drove way way better. Ended up getting a6 after months of wanting volvo. I’d love to drive this new Volvo it looks awesome
To me it’s still Volvo and Swedish china is just the check book that allows them to build the cars they should be building. And to be honest I’m not complaining at all because volvo is still alive and present and thriving I can’t say the same for Saab…….
The back head rest go down for better visibility for the driver. It's not just an extra button. It has purpose like everything else. Yes I have an S90 T8. It's a great all around car with all the options.
Only the S90 is made in China. The S60 and XC40 in the US and the XC90 in Sweden. Volvo is all engineered in Sweden, and China came to Volvos rescue and allowed them to make some seriously nice cars. Look at China as an investor that pumped a ridiculous amount of money for Swedes to do R&D
? "Only" way to change ... e.g. fan speed?? Guess you didn't discover feature of saying "HEY GOOGLE". "SET FAN TO ONE" VOLVO safety mission leads to non-power steering column, fold down rear headrests for visibility, voice commands "HEY GOOGLE", and on and on...

It was designed in 2015 and is small. Volvo's are all going to be updated in the next 3-4 years. The new-gen screens will be much bigger and much different.
It is a Chinese car.. and that is why it has Swedish flag all over the car. They know they need to hide the 'being chinese' part. Still an awesome car.
body made in china, engine is swedish, and the transmission is Japanese lol, and the steering wheel being manual isnt for you LOL its for the first responders to get you out easier if you were stuck
LOL your lack of enthusiams for this car was very palpable....and I can understand why. It's getting a little long in the tooth and the interface has not been updated for maximum usability. It should probably be Chinese-market only model now.
Why? It's the Volvo flagship sedan. It's still an extremely stylish car. That it is rare makes it almost special. The Chinese market is full of very advanced EVs from Chinese manufacturers like Xpeng and NIO.
Yall are too on about the chinese shit. Every car company has massive parts of their cars coming from china. Volvo doesnt even make all parts chinese, the engine is swedish and other parts japanesd.
This car is 100% engineered by Swedish Engineers. A Chinese car company simply purchased Volvo and assembled this car in China. I don’t believe the Chinese have anything to do with the engineering aspects of this car.
Not many people buy it? They can't afford it I guess. This is the Flag Ship. What's wrong with 4 door sedan? That's the old-school fan favs. We hate 2 door.
You need to check the owner's manuals before you review. If you simply tap the fan icon at the bottom of the center screen, you get a full-screen "Climate View" that allows you to easily set all the HVAC controls. cdn.mobilesyrup.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Volvo-S90-Climate-control.jpg
V6 motor olsa çok daha güzel olurdu ,Volvo masraftan kaçmak için normal dört silindirli motor kullanıyor ,ve arabalar çok hantal demir yığını başka bir bok yok

Used ones from 2017-2018 go for under 35K USD nowadays so its getting quite affordable
Just bought one for $25k (~48k miles). So far I’ve been the happiest with my purchase!
Picked up a 2020 T6 with 29k miles for 34k out the door

My wife just bought 2022XC60 T8 ER last month, and the car is made in Chengdu, China mainland. This is one reason we select XC60.
