First time I went to Bob's (original location on university) I think I was 12 or 13, last time I was in my late 40s shortly before we left Phoenix. Over the years I made friends with Bob (as did thousands of others) He was truly an amazing guy and shrewd businessman, it was a sad day when he passed shortly after retiring and generously leaving the business to Rod (it's more involved, in the interest of brevity I'll leave it at that) Over the years this place was instrumental in literally hundreds of my motorcycle projects. The Piles of metal are an up close illustrated history of motorcycles and the pitfalls of not showing them due respect. It's not a place that caters to today's instant gratification world. I, like thousands of others, used to spend Hours in the Blazing Phoenix sun looking for this exact fastener and that little trim piece to buy for a fair price. I miss having the ability to do that
I for one have been to Bobs and I'm here to tell you"patience" is all you need. I have built many bikes with parts from there. I have only not had luck once when looking for a new gasket set. I bet there's one there it's just misplaced. I go out and really dig look under over, everywhere not to be let down. Example 83GPZ 750 must have ten in stock,83 yz80 brand new piston/rings,87 CR500 plastics and seat plus all other years. ATK406 cylinder and piston,82 cr500, 87 Husqvana xc430 electronics/forks/seat,NOS stock stuff that you just can't find anyplace. Found a brand new ceramic coated MAC pipe and muffler for a GPz750. It's all there plastics for your sport bike rebuild, they have thousands of them hanging from wires all across the ceilings in two huge buildings. Fuel tanks in perfect shape for just about anything. Tons of old Maier Plastics in every color. Oary grips, stickers for a ton of dirt bikes. Even tank bras for old gsxrs and cbrs. Need I say more. Not to mention tons of new inventory parts. Go look or try to call them, phone is kinda tough.
Of all the times I've been in Bob's never seen any kinda of snake, spirder, UFO,s Big Foots-is that Feet??? 40 acres of parts, what a wossey there are guys that would envy you just for being there. Snake tigers & Bears wouldn't matter...allway be HEAVEN to me.part or no part!!! Truely Heaven for gearheads...Hell when you can't find the part you need!!!
That is a sad sight... someone walked into a motorcycle shop one day and rode one of these out - brand new... now they are junked.. we live in a throw away existence..
I was there today, and I too, walked out empty handed. I wish they'd manage inventory a little closer, and junk the stuff that won't sell, like the bikes that were in major fires, etc.
I wonder why they take them apart, they should only remove parts on request, and put the bikes in order by brand and vintage. His tank valve may have been at the bottom of that tank mountain.
A real biker's idea of paradise!! A friend used to own a bike breaker's yard back in the 1990's and I'd occasionally go down there and fix or strip a bike or pick a steering lock or something just for the fun of it as a volunteer. (I also owned a 1970's and 1980's Yamaha / Suzuki ignition skeleton key which I still have). Many bikes that came weren't owned by real bikers and so when they "died" they just trailered them in and well, we'd sort them out, fix the really simple fault and resell them for a profit. Best / worst idiot owner bike that came in was a Kawasaki GPZ 305 with 28,000 miles on the clock and 6mm. (measured) grooves in the camshaft lobes. The owner had bought it from a dealership that had gone bust and run the bike for the next 28,000 miles on the thin 1st 500 mile breaking in oil hence the worn out camshaft. Top speed was 38 MPH (eventually) due to low lift valves. Fitted a new camshaft, gave the bike its first oil change and the motor was sweet and a nut due to its self nerfing performance.
having an idetic memory is essential to working in a breaker's yard. My friend owned a breaker's yard like this and relied on me to remember where everything was. I could identify all of the exhaust systems hung up in the video without even trying. There's a knack in searching for small parts in yards like this tht few possess.
Well we need patience and luck for sure ... looking part in that motorcylce mountain. But surely we can make a loooooots of cool bike from that place ...
At about 1:01 there is a white Yamaha seca 750 tank I desperately need, also the right side cover if you can get that I will buy from you or can you tell me where this place is
They passed a law in Texas that made selling used motorcycle parts illegal. All the motorcycle junkyards went out of business overnight. Most dealers just had a recycle bin delivered and had them all scraped just for the metal. I couldn't even buy a used taillight.
WONDER WHY THEY WANTED TO MAKE A LAW LIKE THAT,JUST TO TO GET RID OF THE JUNK YARDS MAYBE ? LOOKS LIKE THEY THINK THEY CAN DO JUST ABOUT ANYTHING THEY WANT TO DO, DOESN'T IT? ANY thing they want to do, apparently. On another thought, look at all the people who've given up 2 wheels! Most coming to their senses before it's TOO LATE ,hopefully.
Yes, but it's seasonal and sporadic. Usually, from July to the end of September we get monsoon rain from the Gulf of Mexico. That is when we get the most rain (about 2 inches a month). Some monsoon seasons are wetter than others. This year we had a lot of rain. Usually after October sets in, we get very little rain for 9 months. It's usually dry and sunny, just how I like it
This guy seems to be absolutely clueless as to how many hundreds of different brands all use identical parts in such minor usages or which will easily interchange if looked at closely.
You would have to call them. Often they are not sure and then ask you to walk the grounds and see if you can find what you are looking for, but if I recall correctly they had a whole section of engines.
Heaven and Hell I used to build motorcycles for a company I'll tell you right now that place is cool as hell but I'd quickly go broke and wind up with a bunch of stuff around my house and then I will hear excessive nagging coming from the kitchen when are you going to do something with all that stuff...... :-/
cash storeone I've heard it pronounced wrong on a few videos, simple mistake but just bugs me, as I build bikes for a living. If I had a friend with that last name, the ribbing would never cease :-)

What you could resurrect from all that lot
Must be enough bikes and parts to bring back some valuable classics back to life

Sad, to hear that Bob's is now closed down...
Oh man I see a 1970s Honda cb450 twin motor or a cb500 twin motor just sitting on the floor there, I want it!!!!
A goldmine --imagine what you could build from all that...
imagine scrapping all of that… jesus
I wish they had places like this in new zealand
Dude ! It’s all empty now. It’s crazy. Guess the owner sold everything and plan on retiring
Well we need patience and luck for sure ... looking part in that motorcylce mountain. But surely we can make a loooooots of cool bike from that place ...
It's at Bob's used motorcycle parts in Phoenix.
Pretty much every bike in there had a petcock at one time, where did they all go?
The place is called all bikes and is located in arizona
Wow! There's likely a dozen petcocks in there somewhere, but just where! Could take you a day to find one.
Reminds me of the movie “Constantine” (with Keanu Reeves) minus the blaze. If there is a hell for bikes, that should be it!
At about 1:01 there is a white Yamaha seca 750 tank I desperately need, also the right side cover if you can get that I will buy from you or can you tell me where this place is

What a shame it's not sorted better.
I went there twice. It was all haystacks and no needles.
there may be. I took this video at least 2 years ago, so I am sure they have many more bikes.
I remember going here with Austin a few years ago: we saw his Buell there.
WOW, a parts pickers dream, think of the $$$ in just scrap aluminum
Yeah, there is a lot of money there just in the metal. Enough to retire on I would think
if i owned all that i would be building costom v twin go karts
If someone were to take all those frames and parts, I wonder how many good bikes could be built from them. Heck of a graveyard...
Lots of out- of- commission bikes in that place!
Wow, there are so many ... where is that ... friend ...? I'm happy like you ... wandering around looking for something ... in the vehicle
May I bought some Honda part from there and ship here?
The part you were looking for is right over there... Ouch!!
Was there yesterday . The stench of old gas is awful.
I have not been there for about 6 or 7 years. Does it still look the same? Yeah, I hate that smell as well. Smells like death.
i need a rust free gas tank for a 1982 honda mb-5...they might be my place..
hi im from philippines , how can i get one of those bike ? i can pay shipping? how much cost for 1 bike ?
I'm looking for a Honda 1994 VF 750 c.. need gas tank and front finder
Hey Phil.
I'll bet you could probably build a pretty outrageous bike from the stuff you found there. It would be an interesting series of videos.
That place is UNREAL!!! I was so hoping you were gonna find your petcock!!

So disorganized. Could be an incredible parts source.
