- It's the game we all wish we had, but will never actually see. Limited Run Games did a collaboration with Sony and Naughty Dog to release physical copies of all the Jak games on PlayStation 4. If you bought all of the collectors editions, they would also send you a mock case of Jak 4 using real Naughty Dog concept art back when they actually considered making the game! So, this is about as close as we're gonna get to a Jak 4. Sorry this wasn't much of a 'real' unboxing since a lot of this stuff I'm keeping sealed. But hey, it's still dope merchandise, and totally awesome to have. Enjoy it with me! Or not, that's cool too.

@@ikervega0116 This gen there has only been one Ratchet game and it doesn't even follow the main story i would rather have the Jak tratment with those collectors edition or atleast see the games on HD but nope, nothing. Jak is clearly the winner in this generation. It was better for Ratchet on PS3 with tons of games, then better for Jak fans on PS4 and for now it seems on PS5 there will be some Ratchet games so that's fair lol one gen for each
I think we could potentially get a remake for PS5, rumours are more believable now with much evidence to support that it could happen, probably not, but we can always hope.

All I can say is, thank god we didn't get that Jak 4 for real, the art is nicely done objectively speaking, but not at all the direction I'd want to see this cartoony and fun series go in.
Idk, I would have liked a darker, grittier, realistic version. It would look amazing now with modern graphics. Would have preferred that to TLoU2 anyways...

No... that art style naughty dog made for Jak 4. Will not work on Jak and daxter series. I happy they cancel it, cause fans will be piss off. But I will like Jak 4 to come but Sony need to find someone else to make it. Or let bluepoint remake Jak 1, 2 and 3.
What r u talking about? Most of Jak was mature targeted stuff. Only Jak and daxter was goofy cartoon.
Jak 2 and 3 was rated teen or mature I think with a much more mature approach to it's story and characters
@@goodlyboony I think you're confusing mature themes with the art style of the series, the two are different things. I'm all for the "grittier" world and themes from the later games, but the art style and characters are still clearly cartoony, the Jak IV concept art is much more "realistic" looking, and unfitting with the rest of the series.
Jak was a really nice PG GTA at the time and really challenging on most parts

@@FlappyYen it had no blood but heavy themes what at the time I found just super cool i loved when they broke the 4th wall the comedy was just on point. I remember in jak 3 when that white dude said "This is no game!" And Jak and dex just look at the camera raising their eyebrows. Ofc I appreciate the story just saying it cause at the time I heard that a lot. If i let people play it they were always like its just like GTA but for children. Its the thing that weirdly stuck the most with me comedicly but I appreciate the franchise as a whole of course its gold like you said.

T'was an old username and I'll change it soon. I’m aware of why he has it. I just don’t understand why you wouldn’t want to open certain things. Like if he plans on keeping it forever then why not open up the games or open up the trading cards? I understand not opening some things such as the car figures. Personally, if I spend a ton of money on an item and I have no intention of selling it in the future, then I’m going to enjoy it to it’s full extent. People can spend their money however they please and enjoy their purchases however they please. I just simply don’t understand having something, essentially just to leave it in a box.

Really wanted to get in on the Jak and Daxter bundle, but they were sold out even though I had it in my cart in a matter of seconds. Now of course, you can find them being scalped for $500. It was extremely frustrating and pretty much ensured that I would never give Limited Run my business.
I love the first game and liked the others. For me the first one despite been smaller felt more like a modern open world game. The later ones had a very GTA like mission feel to them.
I would love if they did this for the Gran Turismo Ps2 trilogy.
I would definitely buy into something like this for my favorite franchise

WHY WOULD THEY MAKE A MOCK CASE FOR JAK 4. I NOW HAVE THE ULTIMATE BLUE BALLS.
They actually started making the game but divided the team betweem jak and uncharted and uncharted took the win, because the team making jak said they couldnt do it by themselves.
ALSO, those design Bibles just might be the coolest thing about these collector's editions, there is SOOOOO much stuff in there about game development, level design (to include scraped concepts and levels that were intended to be included but weren't) plot summaries, revised plot summaries, and of course character and level art, I love all of the other stuff, its fucking amazing, like for example, did you know that towards the end of Jak 2 you were suppose to meet up with a group of Krimzon Guards who wanted to change loyalties to the underground during the metalhead assault on the city? I imagine that they scraped it due to time, but it is an amazing mission concept

It's beacuse if something heavy is sitting on top of the game case, it will push the holder on the disc. In this case, no pun, it's because of the book that is sitting on top of the disc holder. On top of that, he probably stacked the boxes on top of each other!

LRG sucks, shipping is way too expensive especially if you live outside us. Fangamer who made physical copy of Undertale and Hollow Knight do better job for less money.

I think if Naughty Dog were to make another animated game that it'd be a new IP rather than another Jak. For example, a year or two ago someone from Studio Ghibli visited ND. And a few weeks ago ND's art director posted some art he said was inspired by Ghibli, and talked about how he wants to explore that more. So that'd probably be the direction they'd go in.

I remember being so mad my mom bought me Jak and Daxter because I guess I was about 10 or so and thought “wow this is for toddlers”. Then Jak 2 came out and it was cool all the sudden. Fast forward I’m 32 and they have a legacy franchise to be proud to have played. So dope.
Jak 2 is so hard and so perfect I have played all 3 more times than any other game!!!! Grew up on them and still play them 23 years later!!!!
i want to see jak return back in time just when he released kor into the world. then he had to save his village and everyone. eventually he became the "mar" people know of but he actually returned back to the future but just before that he let that sad knight in the first game become mar like the image of mar. meaning that sad knight guy is jak's ancestor. (jak has part green hair too so did the knight.) so there are the suspicions that lies.

Jak 3 was a fucking masterpiece for its time. Such an impressive scope. The powers are cool as shit, light and dark. If you've played it, you know what I'm talking about.
The light powers is about one of the coolest things that the developers came up with for Jak 3.
The thumbnail and title got me shooked💯🔥 🔥. Thought Jak 4 was actually announced. The music, artwork, and designs bring me back tho😁. Much love Ryan

You can always open the ones with loose discs and have them resealed somewhere ;3

The first physical copy of the first game is so elusive. Almost won a bit on it but was outbid for a dollar (!).
I hate limited run for not producing more copies.
I liked the first Jak & Daxter game by far the most! It was so colorful, funny and a joy to play...!
The darker style of Jak 2 wasn't really my cup of tea.
But i would love to see a remake of part one on next gen!
It took me a long time to get over the stark change between the first and second game, but once I finally played it through it became tied for my favorite game of all time with the first Jak and Daxter

True! I couldn’t imagine never having opened up my Special Edition of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, and cracking open that steel book case. It’s my favorite game. I’m going to play it.
There is still something to having something rare though. He already owns and 100% the games on PS4. Having an unopened copy of a beloved game could mean a lot even if he doesn’t sell it
You don't always want to sell your games just because you don't open them. He is a collector and collectors don't open those rare games. He has them already digital on ps4 and and on disc for ps3 and ps2 so why tf should he open them?

Correction when they decided not to do Jak 4 they went on to do the Last of Us. Also I would be down for a realistic looking Jak game. I really like those designs.

There is a technique to put the disc back with out opening the case. It's pretty simple, there are videos on youtube showing you how to do it. I've had to do it a few times with my limited run games I didn't want to open.

I loved the remake of of all the orginal 3 didnt even know about jax4 till now
He downplays how hard these things were to actually get. Yes, you didn't have to be on the website the moment orders went live and pray the checkout completes after loading for 5 minutes, but if you waited more than 20 or 30 minutes these things were gone. I have left my Jak 3 and Jak X still wrapped in the plastic (didn't know the blue bit wasn't permanently attached to the main packaging) but I'm glad to see all the neat stuff inside of the boxes I (probably) won't ever open.
